Book of Purification

Which is the removal of hadath and elimination of


khabath.

Water is 3: tahur, tahir, and najis.


Tahur is what remains in its original nature. It is pure
and purifying. It is absolutely permissible to use.
Tahir is what has greatly changed in color, taste, or

odor due to a pure object. It is pure but not purifying.


It is permissible to use except to remove hadath or
khabath.
Najis is what has changed due to impurity except on
the location being purified. It is absolutely
impermissible to use unless in dire need.

An abundant amount is qulatan or more and a meager


amount is lesser than that. They are equivalent to

170.7 Damascus ratls or whatever is comparable2.


Every pure vessel is permissible to keep and use so
long as it is not gold or silver.
