After you close the help box, your HOME page will be the first page you see. This page
is where you begin customizing your wikispace by clicking the EDIT tab

The wiki toolbar will pop up above a text box. This is where the editing begins.

On this page, you can add text, links, files, videos, tables, and a host of other items. The
toolbar is explained below.

It’s that easy. Don’t forget to save!

Adding Members (such as your students) to Your Wiki

If you don’t want your students to have to create account themselves, just email [email protected] with a
list of usernames and passwords in the following format. They will create the accounts for you!!

user1, password1
user2, password2
user3, password3

Information from wikispaces.com regarding usernames and passwords:

Usernames
We have a large number of accounts on Wikispaces, so many combinations of first names, last names, and
initials are already taken. It's much more likely we can make all the accounts you ask if you add a school
identifier to your students' usernames. For example, if your school is called John Smith High, instead of asking us for the
usernames, adam, james, and dom, we recommend jsh-adam, jsh-james, and jsh-dom.
Length of Usernames and Passwords,
Please make sure that usernames are at least 3 characters long (we allow letters, numbers, underscores _, or dashes -)
and that passwords are at least 6 characters long.
Which Space?
Finally, make sure to let us know which spaces we should add them to as members.
Changing the Look and Feel of Your Wikispace

You can use some pre-made templates provided by Wikispaces to alter the
appearance of you personal wikispace. When you have you wikispace open on the
screen, go to the side menu and click on Manage Wiki

Click on “Look and Feel” under settings.

You will see 13 different choices. Pick one

and click apply. Don’t forget to save!!

You now have your own classroom wikispace! Please check the computer
lab wikispace often for more technology related inservices.
