Christmas Candle

The poem is about lighting candles at Christmas to symbolically welcome Mary, Joseph, and Jesus and spread messages of hope, kindness, and light during a time of darkness. The candle is described as a guiding light that chases away fear and despair, sending messages that all are welcome to stay and that there is plenty of kindness to share on this holy night that Jesus was born.

Christmas Candle

Light a candle to shine in the darkness

Guiding Mary and Joseph this way
Light a candle to send out the message
‘Come in, you are welcome to stay’.

Chorus
Christmas candle, guiding light,
Christmas candle burning bright

Light a candle to shine in the window,

To chase away fear and despair
Light a candle to send out the message
‘We have plenty of kindness to share’.
Chorus

Light a candle to shine in the darkness,

With its tiny but powerful light,
Light a candle to send out a message.
Christ Jesus was born on this night.
Chorus
