Clymenstra by Olivia Jarbeau

Clytemnestra was the half-sister of Helen and the daughter of Tyndareus. She swore revenge on Agamemnon for sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia to Artemis. When Agamemnon returned from war, Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus killed him. Their son Orestes then grew up and killed both Clytemnestra and Aegisthus to avenge his father's death, continuing the cycle of revenge between their families.

 Clytemnestra is Helen’s half
Sister. but they were raised by
different fathers. Helen and
Polydeuces are the offspring of Zeus.
Castore and Clytemnestra, though,
were
fathered by Tyndareus.
Who Kills Who
 Agamemnon
Agamemn sacrifices his

 Clytemnestra:
Orestes, having escaped, was furious
with his mother. He planned to
avenge his father’s death. He
succesfully murders Clytemnestra as
well as Aegisthus

 Iphigenia:
Agamemnon was hunting and
killed a deer. He boasted he was a
better hunter than Artemis. Artemis
punished him and told him the only
way to appease her was to sacrifice
his daughter Iphigenia.
A week later the execution day
arrived. Iphigenia was led out to the
stone table. As Agamemnon brought
the axe down, Clytemnestra wept.
She swore vengeance on Agamemnon
for sacrificing her only daughter.

After Agamemnon went away
to war, Clytemnestra had an affair
with Aegisthus. Her anger with
Agamemnon is most likely what
drove her to commit adultery. She
bore Aegsthus a daughter, named
Erigone. When Agamemnon returned
from war with the prophetess
Cassandra as a concubine, Aegisthus
and Clytemnestra planned to murder
Cassandra, Agamemnon, and his son
Orestes. They succesfully murdered
Agamemnon and Cassandra but
