SHORT COURSES
This unit specifies the outcomes required for the operation of a powered industrial truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachment, for licensing purposes. This definition also includes a truck on which the operator is raised with the attachment for order-picking. This will prepare the participant for their assessment. The national assessment is designed for users and operators of forklift trucks who wish to obtain a WorkCover NSW High Risk Work (HRW) licence (LF). Performance Criteria: 1. Plan Work 2. Conduct Routine Checks 3. Shift Load 4. Shut down and Secure Forklift Truck

Assessment Outcomes: If successful you will be issued with Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA form). Successful participants must then lodge their application within 60 days of the date of assessment at a NSW or ACT Australia Post outlet with the following: Original (blue/white copy) of NSA form Application for a National Licence to perform high risk work Original and acceptable evidence of identity documents totalling at least 100 points Colour, passport size photo Prescribed fee/s If you are unsuccessful in your Assessment, the assessor will advise you of the areas where further training is required. This will be detailed on an Assessment Summary. Unsuccessful applicants can apply for re-assessement at least 21 days but not more than 90 days since the date of issue of original assessment (additional re-assessment fee will apply). IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Participants MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD to participate in this course. Applicants who undertake this course have an option to be assessed on Day 1 for entry level skills and competency to determine training duration of course. It is recommended that two days training be completed prior to WorkCover Assessment. It is extremely important that participants provide documents of identity that add up to 100 points on the day of assessment. These documents should be the same documents that you will provide to the Australia Post Customer Service Officer as evidence of identity when you lodge your application. A detailed list of the POI requirements will be made available to the participant upon registration into the course. If the participant requires a VERBAL Assessment, this must be specified at the time of registration. Verbal assessments will incur an additional hourly rate charge.
