Lesson Plan Four: Prose

This lesson plan is for a 30-minute primary 4 English class focusing on short stories. The lesson will have students infer meanings from context clues and predict outcomes as they continue reading the story "The Little Blue Boy". Students will be familiar with the setting and plot from previous readings. The teacher will elicit predictions from students about what will happen next in the story by asking questions as they read. Students will also get into small groups to discuss their predictions, and the group with the most correct predictions will get a reward. Finally, students will complete a task sheet comparing pictures from the beginning and end of the story to enhance their thinking skills.
