Heath Cliff Poem

The woman shared how she found an injured rabbit in the forest as a child and nursed it back to health, naming it Heathcliff. She and Heathcliff had many fun years together until she went away to college. When she returned, Heathcliff had grown older but was trying to escape to find a mate. In his attempt to escape, Heathcliff injured himself and died, showing that he truly wanted a normal rabbit life rather than remaining confined with the woman.

Kashyf Syed Burgoni 10/11 February 21, 2011 Heathcliff

A woman walked into my classroom one day. Our teacher told us she would give us insight on the real meaning of Wuthering Heights and the main character Heathcliff. Heres what she said

This day 20 years ago, in the forest I came across a hare We ran around and played throughout the day I wanted to keep my new friend but my father said no The rabbit s eyes glistened telling me to please don t go I regret to this day letting go of him because what happened next you won t believe I came across him again but this time he was scared he hid behind the trees My friend was hurt so I had to take him back to the house I needed a new name for him, Heathcliff! I pronounced And then I saw what bothered my friend, he had a bloody ear My dad told me it wasn t as serious as I feared I held him to the sky and yelled with joy But he will definitely not be the same

Heathcliff and I had a blast for many years I was saddened though, because our fun was almost done here I went to community college and even France for a year When I came back my little rabbit had grown into a healthy animal Our friendship was rekindled but I knew he was dying I tried every medicine and called every vet, I couldn t help trying He saw a picture of his only salvation, another rabbit on a truck And made for the screen door that was closed shut And hit his head violently until he couldn t breath anymore I cried and cried because I realized my mistake Heathcliff wanted a real rabbit life not one that s fake But he will definitely not be the same
