User Profile Migration

DONT COPY THE ENTIRE PROFILE

1. Copy the users My Documents, Desktop, and Favorites folders to the network share. Youll also need to copy the Outlook PST file which is located in C:\Documents
and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

*The Local Settings folder is hidden by default Windows 7 file path for folders: C:\users\%username%\ Windows 7 file path for PST file: C:\users\%username %\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook *The AppData folder is hidden by default

2. Log in to the new computer using the users domain login to create the new profile folder in Documents and Settings. 3. Paste the My Documents, and Favorites folder to their respective locations on the new computer. Explore the Desktop folder and copy and paste any unique files that were created by the user. Create a folder on the root of the C drive and name it PST. Copy the old PST file and paste it here. 4. Start Outlook on the new computer and set up the account* so it will create a new PST file. If the password doesnt work leave it blank and continue on. Next go to File > Import and browse to c:\pst were you saved the old PST file and import it to the new computer. * if unable to get setting off of old computer the typical convention for username is 1st initial plus last name.(However this is different at the resorts it is typically the persons first name). If user does not know password leave blank or fill with nonsense characters if required so you can finish installation. Mail Server settings:

The Account type and Outgoing server will not change the Incoming Server will be mail.Email_Domain. Once completed inform level 2
