About Iron Lady of India


Indira Gandhi born into Indias most prominent political family on 19th Nov. 1917. She was exposed to politics when she was a little child. In 1959, Indira Gandhi was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress Party. She was one of the political advisors of Jawaharlal Nehru. After Nehrus death she decided to contest elections and eventually elected. She was appointed as the incharge of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry under Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. She remains as the world's second longest serving female Prime Minister as of 2012.
