Extend Table Space

This document provides instructions for extending an Oracle tablespace called PSAPSR3USR using the BRTOOLS utility in Windows. It describes selecting option 2 for tablespace management, then option 1 to extend a tablespace. The user must select option 3 to specify the tablespace name of PSAPSR3USR. Pressing C continues the process which extends the tablespace by adding a new file. Option 5 allows changing the size of the new file. The space is then extended and can be verified using the transaction database.

Extend Oracle Table Space-BRTOOLS 2010

You manage tablespaces in your Oracle database as part of Space Management. You can extend, create, drop, and alter tablespaces. You especially need to avoid tablespace overflow, which is when a tablespace runs out of freespace in the allocated file or files. This happens when an object requires a new extent but there is either no freespace or insufficient freespace in the tablespace. Following screenshots taken on following environment. ECC6.0/Oracle 10.2/Windows2003 Transaction DB02 . In this example im PSAPSR3USR table space

Goto Windows>Run>Cmd In command prompt enter command BRTOOLS

Select Option 2-Extend Table Spaces

Once done press b to go back to previous menu. You can check space using transaction DB02.
