2014 GED Test

Science Content
There will be 3 broad content areas for the science test (2014): Life Science: 40% of questions Physical Science: 40% of questions Earth & Space Science: 20% of questions

Science Themes
For each item on the science test, the content will be related to one of two themes:
Human Health and Living Systems Energy and Related Themes

The content and themes are related in the following ways:


Life Science Living Systems Health Physical Science Earth Science

Structure of Life
Heredity Evolution Energy Systems Relationship between life functions and energy intake

Chemical properties Interactions and reactions between earth and related to human human systems systems

Conservation and flow of energy Work, motion, and forces

Structure and organization of the cosmos Earth and its system components and interactions

Required Skills
The science test will require students to use the following skills to answer questions:
Text Analysis: reading scientific text Data Analysis: interpret charts and graphs Problem Solving: solving science problems
