GOALS: Language o Recognize and trace B o Recognize the Circle o Follow on step direction o Recognize first letter of their name o Recognize and say their vocab words Self-Help Skills o Explore spoon/fork o Put away toy when its clean-up time o Take cloths off baby (put back on) Cognitive o Child knows where seat is with only being reminded once a day o Sit on spot during story time o Recognize when to say please o Identify one common animal/sound Emotional o Appropriately share one toy when asked o Understand that when theyre reactions are inappropriate Physical o Learn how to hop Social o Play beside friends Opening (circle time): Music and Finger plays: Some families are large. (spread arms out wide) Some families are small (bring arms close together) But I love my family (cross arms over chest) best of all Read-Aloud Story: *LIST BELOW, Find one at library for the week

Activity- Whos in a Family?! PREPARATION Print out pictures of family members (mother, father, brother, sister, baby, grandma, grandpa, etc.). Laminate and put magnets on back so they stick to magnet board. Also print out doubles of the mom, dad, brother, baby, and dog. Cut out and make a set of finger puppets for the song. ACTIVITY Talk to the children about whos in a family (mom, dad, brother, sister, baby, dog, grandma, grandpa, etc.) As they name off family members put the pieces up on the board. If they cant think of any, put the pieces on the board and help them name them off. Talk about the role of each

family member. After you have talked about it, say the rhyme below with the finger puppets. Music and Finger plays: A Family This is a family (hold up one hand, fingers spread) Let's count them and see, How many there are, And who they can be count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 This is the mother (touch pointer finger) Who loves everyone And this is the father (touch big finger) Who is lots of fun. This is my brother (touch ring finger) He helps and He plays, And this is the baby (touch little finger) He's growing each day. But who is this one? (touch thumb) He's out there alone, Why it's Jackie, the dog, And he's chewing a bone. (wiggle thumb) Read the book LMNO PEAS by Keith Baker o Introduce the letter B Phonics: Play Letter B Video Category Day E Activity Bath Babies Description Fill a large Tupperware with soapy water. Include washcloths, sponges, bath toys, etc. Have the children wash their babies. Make sure to include towels to dry babies off. Help children dress babies. Pull out all the blocks and dress-ups. Have kids build a house out of blocks. Then they can dress up and play family. Children can make people with the play dough. Encourage them to make a family. Get 6, two liter bottles and decorate them as ppl. Fill each bottle with a little something heavy (sand, beans, etc) and glue the tops on. Have the children bowl! Encourage the children to smooth the shaving cream onto the table. They can draw a circle and add eyes, nose, mouth hair, etc. They can add their family members, pets, etc. *When drawing the circle for the face make sure to have the children help you and identify the shape Draw a family picture on butcher paper, have the children color and paint the picture to display in the classroom! Have each child make his or her handprints with multicolor paint on white paper. Provide each child with a strip of adding machine tape as wide as their arms. Glue handprints at each end and write I Love My Family on the strip of paper in between the hands to make a banner. Print out family pictures on sticker paper, or use normal paper and glue. Have children cut out pictures (if old enough) and use glue to make a collage on construction paper. Talk to them about the pictures they are using. Have children help make soft gingersnap cookies. Have them use a person cutout to make gingerbread men. Talk
