Michigan is 58-43-6 in the series 2006 - No. 1 OSU hosted No. 2 Michigan in a game that would determine which of the two would play for the national title. The two teams would combine for a series-high 81 points as the Buckeyes earned a third straight win over U-M, 42-39. 1997 - Ranked No. 1, Michigan beat No. 4 OSU 20-14, earning its first chance at a national title in 50 years. The victory cemented defensive back Charles Woodsons Heisman win after he picked off a pass in the end zone and returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown. 1995 - OSU, No. 2 nationally and playing for a national championship, featured tailback Eddie George. He was overshadowed, however, by Michigan tailback Tshimanga Biakabutukua, who rushed for 313 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries. 1973 - The Wolverines missed two field goals in the final few minutes that would have won the game and the two programs split the Big Ten title after tying at 10. The leagues athletic directors voted to send Ohio State to Pasadena. 1969 - In Bos first game against Woody Hayes, he led his 8-2 Michigan team to a 24-12 victory over No. 1 OSU, a team Hayes later called his best ever.
