Choosing a topic wasnt easy and it took some time. After looking at many different ideas that we could choose from, space was the topic that interested us the most. After many days of thinking, we decided that two good choices that would relate to space were Sputnik 1 and Apollo 11. We later thought that Apollo 11 is a big topic and isnt unique, and everyone would already know a lot about it. So we finally decided to do Sputnik 1, an event which revolutionized the world in infinite ways. We first went to the library to get a few books as a starting point and get some information. We then got basic information out of those books and started looking at some websites. After that, we searched for some videos for our website and began to put them on our website. Using those videos, we also received information to put on our website. We also got some valuable content from an interview. Our primary sources were gathered by getting a few documents, a speech, and pictures. While getting information out of all these sources we cited ones that we used. We chose to make a website because we both were interested in computers and how people make websites. We started our project by gathering information and organizing the information into sections depending if it happened before, during, or after the launch. We then gathered all of the information and began to put them it on our website. After that we edited our whole website to check if we could make it better or if there were some errors. Sputnik 1 was a major turning point in history mainly because changed the world technologically and economically since its launch in the 1950's. Before the launch of Sputnik 1 while Soviet Union was announcing that they would launch a satellite, the USA underestimated them. The Americans were shocked by its launch which led to them making many tries to launch

a man in space. Sputnik 1 also changed the economics and offered different ways for people to advertise things and started more markets. Sputniks 1 changed technology and made it much better, and if it werent for the launch of Sputnik, no one would be able to call, go on the internet, watch TV and so many different things we take for granted today.
