Vesper martini Every James Bond fan will recognize the lines in the recipe below as the first martini James Bond ordered in Casino Royale. The Kina Lillet Bond speaks can be found today labeled as White or Blanc Lillet. It's a brand of dry vermouth made in France since the late 1800's that is often referred to as "the apritif of Bordeaux". Bond's glassware of choice for the Vesper is a deep Champagne goblet. Glass type: Champagne goblet Garnish: lemon peel Ingredients: 3 measures of Gordon's Gin 1 measure of vodka
1/2 measure Kina Lillet lemon peel for garnish Vodca Martini The classic Martini is one of the drinks that every bartender should know. There are many ways to make a Martini: gin or vodka, little or no vermouth, stirred or shaken and an olive or lemon twist garnish. One drink, so many options. Many other drinks are referred to as a Martini. Although this recipe is the original, we must go along with society in some respects and here are more of those Martini recipes. Vodca Redbull Love it or hate it, the Vodka Red Bull is one of the most popular drinks of the 21st Century so far. It owes its fame to the energy drink craze and the popularity of Red Bull. I'm not fond of it myself simply because I don't like to mix alcohol and overly caffeinated drinks - a theory that has spurred quite a debate lately about the health effects of such a mix. If you do like Vodka Red Bulls or any similar drinks, take it easy because the caffeine can mask how drunk you may be in reality and lead to some larger issues than a hangover. Glass type: highball glass Ingredients: 2 oz vodka Red Bull energy drink Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka into glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with Red Bull.
a highball
Vodca Tonic With the splash of lime, the Vodka Tonic is an easy-to-make, refreshing sipper for really hot days. Where the Gin & Tonic relies on the flavor of gin to make the drink, this vodka version is very clean and almost flavorless except for the lime. This is where a good vodka comes into play: a value vodka will add nothing to the drink and it's impurities will shine through. Also, try this out with any of your favorite flavored vodkas. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients:
Preparation: 1. Build ingredients in an ice-filled highball glass. 2. Add the lime garnish. Accomplice Combine a fine Champagne and a great vodka (likeStoli) with strawberries and you have a fantastic drink called the Accomplice. This is a great cocktail for elite celebrations and, especially, New Year's Eve parties. I like that it's served in a cocktail glass as opposed to a Champagne flute because it allows the bubbly to swell in the wider glass. Not to mention it's much easier to rim a cocktail glass with sugar, which is a necessary finishing touch for this and works best with a brut or extra brut for that sweet-dry combination that is stunning. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: strawberry Ingredients: 1 oz simple syrup 2 oz Stolichnaya vodka 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice Champagne 3 strawberries superfine sugar for rimming Preparation: 1. Muddle three strawberries and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. 2. Add the vodka and lemon juice. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into a sugar-rimmed martini glass.
5. Top with Champagne. Alibi The Alibi is a simple ginger-flavored drink that features a fantastic vodka, Stolichnaya. Personally I prefer to use the Stoli Elit because it's even smoother than the other, but any vodka should do as long as it's a nice, clean one - those work best with the pure ginger, lime and soda of the drink. The ginger syrup is easy to make and great for keeping in the fridge on a regular basis. Another option is to get a little "wild" and use a vanilla-ginger simple syrup. Both are great Glass type: old- fashioned glass Garnish: club soda Ingredients: 1 oz ginger simple syrup (recipe below) 2 oz Stolichnaya vodka squeeze of a fresh lime club soda Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 4. Top with a splash of club soda. Ginger Simple Syrup: 1. Peel 2 inches of fresh ginger. 2. Simmer with 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water for 5 minutes to infuse flavor. 3. Remove ginger. 4. Bottle and chill. Amore Frizzante
The Amore Frizzante is a spectacular sparkling wine cocktail with a rich array of fruity flavors. The star of the show is the brandy-based GranGala orange liqueur and when that is paired with a bit of peach nectar and Prosecco the result is stunning and a great option for any celebration like New Year's Eve. The recipe calls for clear vodka, but I've found that Van Gogh's mango vodka is a nice touch here, as would most any fruit-infused vodka. Glass type: champagne flute Garnish: peach/raspberry Ingredients: 1 oz Van Gogh Vodka 1/2 oz GranGala Triple Orange Liqueur 1/2 oz peach nectar Prosecco, such as Brunetto sliced peaches and raspberries for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, GranGala and peach nectar into acocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a Champagne flute. 4. Top with Prosecco. 5. Garnish with a slice of peach and two raspberries. Apple Cider Martini Here is another apple-flavored 'martini' and it's an interesting one. This Apple Cider Martini is designed more for those with drier tastes than many of the other options. The drink uses Ultimat Vodka, which is ultra smooth and clean, and makes a nice base for the apple and ginger combination. For the cider, I recommend using the freshest cider available
and when it comes to the ginger liqueur, Domaine de Canton is a nice option. The Velvet Falernum is the finishing touch that brings everything together. This is a versatile cocktail and can fit any occasion. It may even become your new favorite apple tini. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: apple Ingredients: 1 3/4 ounces Ultimat Vodka 1 1/2 ounces apple cider 1/4 ounce ginger liqueur Splash of Velvet Falernum Preparation: 1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker. 2. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Apple pie Martini There are many "Appletini" recipes and most are great refreshers for hot summer days or as a fix for your sweet tooth. However, very few have a taste that is satisfying on cold winter nights, but this Apple Pie Martini just happens to be one of them. This one combines sweet vanilla with apple cider and cinnamon for an overwhelming inner warming effect that reminds you of Grandma's homemade apple pies and the holidays. It features Navan, a premium vanilla liqueur, which is perfect as a base for this flavored martini. You can also warm the apple
cider and use it to top the other, shaken ingredients in a mug for a warm cocktail. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: apple/cinnamon/lime Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Navan Vanilla Liqueur 1 part Belvedere Vodka 2 parts apple cider 1 tsp cinnamon Squeeze of lime juice Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. April Rain An April Rain is a refreshing version of a Vodka Martini. The splash of lime will wake up your taste buds from the winter doldrums as you enjoy the lightspring showers of April. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lime peel Ingredients: 2 ounces vodka 1/2 ounce lime juice 1/2 ounce dry vermouth Lime peel for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with the lime peel.
Babel-on the rocks Babel, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is one of the 2007 Oscar nominees and in honor of the film Kahlua created this creamy cocktail. It's actually a brand specific variation of the White Russian. The Babel- On the Rocks distinguishes itself by using the luxury vodka, Stoli Elit, and floating the half & half on top. Invite friends over for a pre-Oscar dinner and serve them Babel-On the Rocks for dessert while watching the red carpet arrivals. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: coffee Ingredients: 2 parts Kahlua coffee liqueur 1 part Stoli Elit 2 parts half & half Preparation: 1. Pour the Kahlua and vodka into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Banana Split Martini The beauty of the Banana Split Martini is that you can change up the ingredients just like you can with a real banana split. By
going with a flavored vodka you can add your favorite "topping." Strawberry, pineapple, coconut, or even more chocolate or banana are all good options and there are many others that you could play with. The other choice you have is the garnish. You could go low-key and stick with the customary banana slice, or a lone strawberry, or pineapple slice, maybe adding a cherry. There's the strawberry and chocolate syrups drizzled in the bottom of the glass, and the decadent chocolate dipped strawberry or banana. This drink is completely customizable. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: banana slice Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 3/4 oz creme de banane or banana liqueur 3/4 oz creme de cacao Banana slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a banana slice (more garnish ideas above). Basil North The Basil North is an excellent, fresh, herbal cocktail that was created by Miles Davies of the Green & Red in London. You can think of the taste as a kind of basil-infused cross between
an Apple Martini and aLemon Drop and, personally, I think this one blows both of those out of the water. Since you are shaking herbs in the drink, you do want to be certain to fine strain and/or double strain it to ensure that you don't have anything left floating in the glass. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon/apple Ingredients: 25 ml apple juice 50 ml Cape North Vodka 2 basil leaves Juice of 1/2 a lemon Dash of sugar Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. This Champagne cocktail is a refreshing, easy to make drink that is just as the name suggests, beautiful. It was created by Dez O'Connell from Just St. James in London and features Cape North, one great, new vodka. The Beautiful Boat is ideal for romantic evenings and Valentine's Day and a simple rose petal garnish is the perfect finishing touch for such an elegant drink. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: rose petal Ingredients: 40 ml Rose Champagne 50 ml Cape North Vodka 2 mint leaves
Preparation: 1. Shake the vodka and mint in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 3. Float Champagne over top.
Black Cat This is one Black Cat you won't mind if it crosses your path. At first glance you may think that the flavor combination is a little strange, but it's actually very good. Think of it as a spiked cherry cola with a cranberry twist. This is a delightful cocktail for Halloween parties. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: cherry Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz cherry brandy Cranberry juice Cola Preparation: 1. Black & Gold Vodca A Black & Gold is a super easy cocktail that makes a dramatic statement, both in taste and look. It features Blavod Vodka, which is black, and Goldschlager, that luxury cinammon liqueur

Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: cinnamon Ingredients: 2 oz Blavod Vodka 1 oz Goldschlager Cinnamon Schnapps Preparation: 1. Pour the Blavod into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Top with Goldschlager.
Black Martini This is one of the best c ocktails for a Halloween party. This Black Martini replaces vermouth with either blackberry brandy or black raspberry liqueur (Chambord being a good choice). The drink will be dark, but not black-black so another option is to make a Vodka Martini with Blavod, a black colored vodka. For another variation on the Black Martini, check outthis video. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail/oldfashioned glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 3 1/2 oz gin or vodka 1/2 oz blackberry brandy or black raspberry liqueur Lemon twist for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or serve on the rocks in an old-fashioned glass. 4. Garnish with a lemon twist. Black Widow The Black Widow is Blavod vodka's answer to a Cape Codder. This layered drink is very simple and the black vodka tops this eerie cocktail nicely. This is one of the recipes in which the brand of spirit is key, no other vodka will create the same effect. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon Ingredients: 2 oz Blavod Vodka 3 oz cranberry juice Preparation: 1. Pour the cranberry juice into a highball glass filled with ice. 2. Float the Blavod on top. Blondie in Blue The Blondie in Blue is a delightful Martini-like cocktail with an intriguing profile and, as the name suggests, a beautiful deep sky color. This drink is filled with luxurious spirits including Blue Ice Vodka, Marie Brizard Parfait Amour and Lillet Blonde - these combine for an elegant taste and a stunning look.

Stir the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice until well chilled. 2. Strain into a pre-chilled cocktail glass. 3. Garnish with a slice of lemon. Bloody Caesar The Bloody Caesar is sometimes referred to simply as a Caesar and is a slight variation of the Bloody Mary. The Caesar is a popular drink in Canada and replaces the tomato juice of the Mary with clamato juice (clam and tomato juice) for a twist. The clamato does make this a drink that not everyone will like as it is more of an acquired taste, but for those who can get beyond that, it makes a great brunch cocktail and another that should help alleviate hangover pains. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: celery stick Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces vodka 4 ounces clamato juice 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce Dash of Tabasco sauce Lime wedge
Preparation: 1. Rim a highball glass with the juice from the lime wedge and a combination of celery salt and salt. 2. Add the vodka and clamato juice. 3. Ultimat Blueberry Martini The Ultimat Blueberry Martini, along with The Patron Gold Cosmopolitan, will be featured cocktails at the pre-show party and at the Governors Ball during the81st Academy Awards, and both are star-worthy cocktails. This one in particular is a fantastic mix of Ultimat, a very smooth, premium vodka, and fresh blueberries, which just happen to be in their prime this time of year. Sorbets may take a little more effort than frozen cocktails, but they are worth it. The blue curacao gives this sorbet its beautiful color and adds to the perfect orange flavor of the finished frozen dessert. Prep Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 30 minutes Yield: Approx. 5 Cocktails Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon Ingredients: 1/2 cup vodka 2 oz blue curacao orange liqueur 1 1/2 cup sugar 3 cups water Grated orange zest 3 1/2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice Preparation: 1. Add lemon juice and vodka and blue curacao to the strained syrup mixture; stir until thoroughly blended. Blushing Lady The Blushing Lady is a perfectly designed fruity cocktail that is the right blend of tropical flavors and looks stunning when served in a sugar-rimmed glass. It's a great cocktail for almost any occasion.
The flavor of a Blushing Lady is a medley of sweet, sour and tart. One may find themselves entranced in this beauty of a drink, making it easy to reach the "one too many" mark and blushing as pink as the drink. Shake and strain into the prepared glass. 4. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Bocce Ball The Bocce Ball is great highball juice drink. With the amaretto and soda it's much like a Screwdriver on steroids, and is a very interesting cocktail. I would include the Bocce Ball on the list of drinks most bartenders will want to be aware of. Also, because of its relationship to the Screwdriver, it an easy one to remember.

Pour the vodka, amaretto and orange juice into acollins glass filled with ice. 2. Add a splash of soda water. 3. Garnish with an orange slice. Roasted Toasted Almond The Roasted Toasted Almond (or Burnt Almond ) is roasted by adding vodka to a Toasted Almond. Both are relaxing sippers with a nice almond-coffee flavoring and are really nice on chilly fall evenings by the fire. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: coffee Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz coffee liqueur 1 oz amaretto Milk or cream
Preparation: 1. Build the vodka and liqueurs in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with milk or cream. 3. Shake by placing a mixing tin over the glass and giving it one or two good shakes. Cape Codder The Cape Codder, or Cape Cod, is one of those popular highballs that are simply a shot of liquor over ice and topped with a mixer. In this case the ingredients are vodka and cranberry. This duo cocktail is the base for quite a few trios like the Sea Breeze,Bay Breeze and Madras, in which one other fruit juice is added to the mix. They all make great light, everyday drinks, especially on hot summer afternoons. Also, use Blavod, a black vodka, to turn a Cape Cod into a dark Black Widow. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients: 3 oz cranberry juice 2 oz vodka Lime wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a highball glass with ice cubes. 2. Stir well. 3. Squeeze the lime juice into the drink. 4. Drop the lime wedge into the glass. Cape Samurai
Try a Cape Samurai if you're in the mood for a culinary cocktail with a kick. This spicy libation is the brainchild of Li Ya Nan of the Mango Tree in London and features a great vodka in Cape North with a little rose, lime, ginger and wasabi. Yes, the spicy, hot green wasabi is the key ingredient for this fantastic cocktail, but it is tamed down by the other ingredients to be palatable (and drinkable). Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: ginger/wasabi Ingredients: 3/4 ounce(25 ml) fresh lime juice 1 3/4 ounce (50 ml) Cape North Vodka 1/2 ounce (20 ml) rose syrup 4 pickled ginger slices Half a barspoon of green wasabi (Video: Prepare Fresh Wasabi) Preparation: 1. In a mixing glass stirstir together the vodka and lime cordial. 2. Gently pour the Champagne into a Champagne flute. 3. Add the vodka and lime mixture to the Champagne. 4. This drink is both sweet and dry, with a tinge of flavors that are both intriguing and refreshing and it is ideal for any romantic celebration. The use of St. Germain is a must in the drink, and while the options for the other spirit are nice to plant the seed of customization, I would have to suggest going with Hendrick's Gin. The cucumber and rose of this particular gin is oh-so delightful with the elderflower and strawberry and an ideal match for the dry sparkling wine. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: stawberry
Ingredients: 1 part St. Germain elderflower liqueur 2 parts vodka, citrus vodka, or Hendricks Gin 3/4 part fresh lemon juice 1/4 shot simple syrup 1 part muddled strawberry top with Brut Ros Sparkling Wine strawberry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pineapple and coconut delight A pineapple and coconut delight for hot days, the Chi-Chi is a wonderful tropical frozen cocktail that is something a little different than the averageMargarita. A reader is also looking for a Chi-Chi recipe that was popular in the 70's and 80's that involves freezing the main mix overnight and adding 7-Up. If you know this recipe, please share it with me: Email me. Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: margarita/highball glass Garnish: pineapple slice Ingredients: 1/2 cup ice 2 oz vodka 1/2 oz blue curaao 1/2 oz cream of coconut 1/2 cup fresh or canned pineapple
Preparation: 1. Pour all ingredients into a blender. 2. Blend until smooth. 3. Pour into a chilled margarita or highball glass. 4. Garnish with the pineapple. Chi-Chi The mixture of chocolate and orange in this vodka martini is a tasty treat. The signature of this cocktail is that the rim is covered in melted chocolate which is then chilled until solid. A very light taste of orange is contributed by an orange liqueur such as Cointreauor Grand Mariner. Go ahead, indulge yourself. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: chocolate Ingredients: chunks of chocolate for rimming 1 oz vodka 1/2 oz white crme de cacao dash of Cointreau or Grand Mariner Preparation: To make the chocolate rim: 1. Place chunks of chocolate into a heat-safe bowl. 2. Place this bowl over a pot of water. 3. Heat and simmer the water until the chocolate is completely melted. 4. The cocktail: 1. Shake the ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. 2. Strain into the prepared glass. Chocolate Cake shooter The Chocolate Cake shooter is one of the popular interactive shooters: the type of shots that require an extra step or a traditional procedure other than simply tipping the glass and downing it. The traditional way to shoot a Chocolate Cake is to follow up the shot by sucking on a sugar-coated lemon. It's like the frosting on the cake. Fill a mixing glass with ice and add the liquors. 2. Cover the glass with another and shake. 3. Strain into a shot glass. 4. Serve with a sugar coated lemon. Colorado Bulldog
If you like a White Russian you may really like a Colorado Bulldog. The only difference being that in this recipe you top with equal amount of cream and cola instead of cream alone. It really adds a nice touch that mixes up a routine of Russians. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: coffee/cream/milk Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz coffee liqueur Cream or milk Cola Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with equal amounts of milk or cream and cola. 3. Stir well. Coriandrum The herbal flavors of coriander shine in this cocktail which features Square One Organic Vodka. The Coriandrum uses a simple coriander-flavored nectar by infusing agave nectar with coriander seeds (recipe below). While simple syrup could be used in place of the nectar, it tends to produce a cocktail that is almost too sweet and contradicts the spice of the coriander. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass (cosmopolitan)
Garnish: lemon twist/coriander seeds Ingredients: 2 ounces Square One Organic Vodka 1/4 ounce Cinzano Bianco Vermouth Splash of coriander nectar (recipe below) Splash of orange bitters Coriander seeds for garnish Lemon twist for garnish Preparation: 1. Crimson Crush Pomegranate, grapefruit, and elderflower combine for a delightful drink with the clean taste of Belvedere Vodka in the background. Yet, that is not all there is to this cocktail as the ice is just as important here. It uses crushed ice to create a slushylike effect and that (along with the fruit chunks) is why the
recipe says 'churn' rather than stir, and why you may also want to serve this with a straw. This recipe does suggest using what is technically named (Belvedere) Red Vodka. It is the same clear Belvedere that we are familiar with, it just comes in a special, limited edition bottle. 2012 is the second year of this seasonal bottle and the proceeds benefit the Global Fund (a financier that aids programs to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa). If you see this bright crimson bottle, pick it up... you get the same great vodka in a stunning bottle and some people get much needed help. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: pink grapefruit Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces Belvedere (RED) Vodka 1/2 ounce St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur 3 bar spoons of pomegranate seeds 4 chunks pink grapefruit Preparation: 1. Muddle the pomegranate, grapefruit, and elderflower liqueur in an old-fashioned glass. 2. Add the vodka and top with crushed ice. 3. Churn. City, this cocktail is a refreshing drink of that pairs a sencha green tea syrup with Chartreuse and cucumber. The recipe for the syrup is below and is very easy to mix up and I think you will find it useful in other cocktails as well. The vodka recommended here is Tito's, a vodka produced in Texas. It is distilled from corn, making it a very interesting addition to this cocktail that will be ideal anytime and for any occasion. Deep Blue Sea Martini This beautiful blue Martini is an excellent addition to any party and its tropical sour flavor is a delight. The Deep Blue Sea Martini is made of vodka (Blue Ice American Vodka), blue curacao, sour mix and pineapple juice. While any orange
liqueur you have in stock will do, you will not obtain that blue hue unless you use the ever-essential blue curacao. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: pineapple Ingredients: 2 oz Blue Ice American Vodka 3/4 oz sweet and sour mix 1/2 blue curacao 1/2 oz pineapple juice Preparation: 1. Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and coffee liqueur in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with milk or cream. 3. Shake by placing a mixing tin over the glass and giving it one or two good shakes.
Dust in Eden In this cocktail we're combining the flavors of fresh pomegranate and apple juice (fresh is best of course) to create one great, unique drink. Dusk in Eden is a great alternative to the oh-so-popular Appletini, you don't have the full-on, overly sweet apple (typically contributed by schnapps), instead it's a rich apple that is offset by fresh pomegranate. The result is one spectacular Martini. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: martini glass Garnish: pomegranate seeds Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts 42 Below Vodka 1 large slice of pomegranate, chopped 1 part apple juice dash of simple syrup pomegranate seeds to garnish Preparation: 1. Muddle together the pomegranate and syrup in a mixing glass or shaker tin. 2. Add 42 BELOW Vodka and juice, and fill with ice.
3. Shake well, and strain into a chilled martini glass. 4. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.
Firefly Take a Greyhound and add the sweet pomegranate of grenadine for this delicious Firefly cocktail. Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is best for any cocktail, especially those like this that depend on the juice for flavor. The grenadine has two functions in this mixed drink: to balance out the tartness of the grapefruit and to give it a beautiful pink hue with the progressive effect of a Tequila Sunrise. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: grapefruit Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 4 oz grapefruit juice 1 oz grenadine Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and grapefruit juice into a mixing glass with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. 4. Add the grenadine. 5. Stir again or allow the grenadine to float up from the bottom. French 75 The story of the French 75 goes back to around 1915 when Harry MacElhone created in at the New York Bar in Paris. It was brought to the U.S. by returning World War I pilots and became a popular drink at New York City's Stork Club. The
name comes from a 75mm French field gun that was said to have the same kick as the drink. At some point in its early history this drink was made with Cognac in place of the gin and there is some question as to which version is the real French 75, but gin is the more common now. To add another twist, if the same drink is made with vodka for the base spirit, it is a French 76. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: champagne flute Garnish: lemon Ingredients: 1 ounce gin or Cognac 1/2 ounce Cointreau orange liqueur 1/2 ounce lemon juice Champagne Preparation: 1. Pour the lemon juice, gin, and Cointreau into acocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled Champagne flute. 4. Carefully fill with Champagne. X-Rated Kiss Mrs. Robinson was voted "Hottest Cougar" in a recent X-Rated Fusion poll, but Eva Longoria's character, Gabrielle Solis, on Desperate Housewivescame in a close second. The results inspired a line of cocktails and this recipe for Gabrielle's XRated Kiss is one of them. That aside, this is a great cocktail. It is a simple and fruity Martini, filled with the blood orange,
mango and passion fruit of X-Rated with a little black raspberry to top it off. Yes, it's a "girly" cocktail but it's great for Mother's Day, bridal showers,Valentine's Day or simply a girls night out. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: raspberry Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz X-Rated Fusion Liqueur 1 1/2 oz SKYY Vodka drizzle of black raspberry liqueur raspberry (black or red) for garnish
Preparation: 1. Shake the vodka and X-Rated with ice in a cocktail shaker. 2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 3. Drizzle raspberry liqueur over the sides of the glass. 4. Garnish with a raspberry. Ginger Martini The Ginger Martini is a simple cocktail which features the spicy flavor profile of a ginger liqueur, such asDomaine de Canton. It is a snappy martini and a nice, easy upgrade from a Vodka Martini. In theory, you could garnish this cocktail with a thin slice of fresh or candied ginger but that could be too much of one flavor. A quick twist of lemon essence over the drink is a much better compliment. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 1/2 oz ginger liqueur Squeeze of fresh lemon juice Lemon twist for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a lemon twist. Godmother The Godmother (or Tawny Russian) is the softer variation of the Godfather. Lose the Scotch and addvodka for this more lady-like lowball on the rocks. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Vodka 1/2 oz Amaretto Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes. 2. Stir well. Golden Raspberry The Golden Raspberry has to be one of my favorite new "fancy" Jgermeister cocktails. It does, however, pack a big
punch. If you look at it you will notice that not only does it include that now infamous liqueur, but adds tequila and vodka as well. Those in combination could deliver quite the intoxicating wallop so use caution. It is, however a delicious, fruity and complexly flavored cocktail you'll likely enjoy quite a bit. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: raspberry Ingredients: 1 part Jgermeister 1/2 part vodka 1 part tequila 1/2 part raspberry juice 1/2 part grenadine Preparation: 1. Combine and shake all ingredients over ice. 2. Strain into cocktail glass. Greentini This Greentini is simple, delicious and beautiful. I received it from 360 Vodka to celebrate Earth Dayand yes, any vodka will do but in the spirit of being environmentally friendly 360 is the way to go. Other vodkas (ie. Square One, Reyka, Orange V) are going "green" as well and hopefully more brands will make the same efforts in their production. Midori is the melon liqueur of choice here, even though it isn't as "green" as the vodka but it is green and gives thisMartini its color and flavor. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish:lime wedge Ingredients: 2 oz 360 Vodka 1 1/2 oz melon liqueur lime wedge for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Greyhound This grapefruit and vodka cocktail is an ideal choice for a summertime brunch. White grapefruit juice can also be used and gin can replace the vodka in a salt-rimmed glass for a Salty Dog. The beauty of this mixed drink is in its simplicity, much like theScrewdriver, and because the vodka adds no flavor your basically drinking spiked juice. That said, try the Greyhound with infused vodkas for a little twist... strawberry, blood orange, kiwi are all great choices. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: lemon/lime wedge Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 4 oz grapefruit juice lemon or lime wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a collins glass with ice cubes. 2. Stir well. 3. Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge. Halloween Hpnotist
The Halloween Hpnotist is another great drink with a spooky, yet beautiful, look that features Hpnotiq liqueur. The drink itself is quite simple - the beautiful blue, fruit liqueur, vodka and lemon juice - but it is the unique garnish that really sets this one apart and it's not an edible garnish. What you need to do is find a bunch of 3-4 inch, blue glow sticks, crack them after you pour the drink and lay them inside the glass. The result can be seen in the photograph and the effect is dramatic and perfect for any Halloween bash. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: glow stick Ingredients: 2 oz Hpnotiq liqueur 1 oz super premium vodka Splash of lemon juice Glow stick for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a lit glowstick. Harvey wallbanger This drink was created as one of those "all I got in the bar" drinks. Supposedly, the host of a party in the mid 60's had only vodka, orange juice andGalliano available. After a couple of these drinks a guest named Harvey was found to be banging his head against the wall and cursing the drink that caused him his misery. As such, the Harvey Wallbanger was born. Prep Time: 2 minutes
Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: orange slice/maraschino cherry Ingredients: 3/4 oz vodka 1 1/2 oz orange juice 1/4 oz Galliano orange slice for garnish maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and orange juice into a collins glasswith ice cubes. 2. Add the Galliano. 3. Garnish with the orange slice and maraschino cherry.
Honey Deuce The Honey Deuce was created by Nick Mautone, Grey Goose's Master Mixologist and NYC Restaurateur, to serve as the official cocktail of the 2009 US Open Tennis Championship. The cocktail is a great mix of simple flavors and is perfectly refreshing for those long days watching some exciting tennis action. It is also up for interpretation and opens up nicely with a variety of Chambord substitutes with a suggested blackberry cordial or cherry brandy being two of the many amazing possibilities. You may also be tempted to skip the melon ball garnish, but it is
the perfect finishing touch and almost necessary. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: honeydew melon balls Ingredients: 1 1/4 parts Grey Goose Vodka fresh squeezed lemonade 1/2 part Chambord or premium raspberry liqueur crushed ice honeydew melon balls for garnish Preparation: 1. Fill chilled highball glass with crushed ice and add GREY GOOSE Vodka. 2. Top with lemonade to just below the rim and then add Chambord. 3. Garnish with honeydew melon balls. Hollywood Martini Here is a Martini that shines as bright as the lights of Hollywood. It's the neat version of the popularHollywood cocktail, that is no different other than the fact that it is shaken and served without ice. The fantastic combination of black raspberry and pineapple are perfect for hot summer nights and make this cocktail a refreshing, light, flavorfilled libation. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: pineapple/cherry Ingredients:
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Ice Kaffe This Ice Kaffe recipe is very similar to the popularWhite Russian, but there are two distinct difference. First, it uses two vodkas, both Svedka's vanilla and clear vodkas, with the vanilla adding just a touch of extra flavor. Then, there is the true star of the show, this amazing caf con leche ice cube. The cube is actually frozen coffee and milk with sugar and vanilla and it is not only fun to make, but a great addition to any drink that a coffee cube may fit. Prep Time: 3 minutes Ice Cubes: 24 hours Total Time: 24 hours, 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: rocks glass Garnish: caf con leche ice Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Svedka Vodka 1/2 part Svedka Vanilla Vodka 1 part coffee liqueur 1/2 part cream Caf con Leche Ice* (recipe below) Preparation: 1. Fill a rocks glass with Caf on Leche Ice.
2. Add ingredients and stir gently. *Caf con Leche Ice: 5 parts cold brewed coffee 5 parts milk 1 part granulated sugar 1 whole vanilla pod 1. Pour coffee and milk into a large saucepan, add sugar and stir to dissolve. 2. Slit the vanilla pod in the center, scrape out the seeds and place them in the pan. 3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then remove from fire. 4. Cool and freeze overnight. Ice-tini The Ice-tini is a delicious dessert Martini that features Covey Run Semillon Ice Wine. Ice wine is a plush, sugary white wine that is made from grapes frozen right on the vine, the result is a super sweet dessert wine. Covey Run created this tini as a way for everyone to enjoy the distinct tastes of such a distinct specialty wine. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: orchid Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Covey Run Semillon Ice Wine 1 1/2 oz vodka Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Icy Spicy Blue Ice Martini In the mood for a drink on the spicy side? Then the Icy Spicy Blue Ice is a perfect option. The kick in this Martini comes from jalapeo pepper juice, which you can either find bottle separately or use the juice from a jar of peppers (in the same way olive brine is used in Dirty Martinis). However, this is a tricky drink and can be either good or bad. Start off right by using a premium vodka (like Blue Ice, as is used here) as the cheaper, dirtier vodkas compete too much with the jalapeo. Then, be sure to add just a dash of pepper juice so you don't burn the drink right away with spice. Remember, you are also garnishing with a pepper so this will slowly add heat as it infused the cocktail. Also, remember to wash your hands with soap and hot water anytime they come in contact with either the juice or the pepper. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: jalapeno pepper Ingredients: 2 1/2 oz Blue Ice American Vodka Dash of jalapeno juice Whole jalapeno pepper for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and jalapeo juice shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Irish Martini The Irish Martini is a simple version of the Martini. The ingredient that makes it Irish and perfect for St. Patrick's Day parties is Irish whiskey and in this case that small amount makes a big difference, adding substance, color and flavor to the profile of its far more popular predecessor. For a Scotch version, try out the Smoky Martini. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 1/2 oz dry vermouth 1/2 oz Irish whiskey lemon twist for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the Irish whiskey into a chilled cocktail glass. 2. Swirl around the glass in order to coat the inside. 3. Drain the excess whiskey. 4. Pour the vodka and dry vermouth into a cocktail shaker half-filled with cracked ice. 5. Shake well. 6. Strain into the cocktail glass. 7. Garnish with the lemon twist. Irish Whip An Irish Whip is a very interesting blend of flavors.Vodka and Cuban rum (like Bacardi or Havana Club) make a nice spirit base and the anise liqueur (such as Pernod) along with orange juice add the main flavors. There is a little help from the crme de menthe in the Irish Whip to give it the St. Patrick's Day feel by adding a green color. It is not one of my favorite cocktails but it is worth checking out.
Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz Pernod 1 oz Cuban rum 1 oz crme de menthe 1 part 7-Up 1 part orange juice Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, Pernod, rum and crme de menthe into a pint glass with ice cubes. 2. Fill with equal parts of 7-up and orange juice. 3. Stir well. Jell-O shot This is an open ended shooter recipe that is just waiting for your creativity. You can use the gelatin flavor of your choice, change the color with a few drops of food coloring, layer flavors and colors, cut out shapes with cookie cutters or use various containers, pour the unset mix into molds, or try them with tequila, rum, or any other liquor. You really cannot go wrong with this recipe and your friends will love it. There are also more tips and recipes below that will get you started with new flavor ideas. This recipe is for a single, 3 ounce box of gelatin, which is the most common size. It will make about 16 1-ounce shots and you can multiply the recipe to make more or to fit bigger cups. Total Time: 2 hours, 20 minutes Yield: 16 1-ounce shots Glass type: shot glass
Ingredients: 3 oz Jell-O or other gelatin (any flavor) 1 cup boiling water 1/2 cup (4 ounces) vodka (or other distilled spirit) 1/2 cup cold water Preparation: 1. Chill the liquor and cold water mix in the refrigerator so they are a consistent temperature. 2. Pour gelatin into a bowl. 3. Add boiling water, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved. 4. Stir in chilled liquor and water mix and food coloring (optional). 5. Pour into shot glasses, molds, or a baking pan for a sheet of Jell-O to cut up once set. Tip: The small, plastic shot cups are perfect because the drinker can just squeeze the shot out. 6. Refrigerate until the liquid sets. (At least 2 hours, but overnight refrigeration is recommended) 7. Serve cold.
Kamizakee This cocktail is the "sophisticated" version of the original Kamikaze shooter that can cause quite a bit of damage, hence the name. Another popular of the neat version is a "SoCo" Kamikaze, in which the vodka is replaced with Southern Comfort. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lime wedge
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 oz lime juice 1 oz triple sec Lime wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with the lime wedge. Katinka With a name like Katinka, this cocktail has to have a story behind it. Unfortunately I haven't found it yet. At any rate, you will love this interesting mix of flavors for a smooth sipper and the sprig of mint for a garnish adds eye appeal along with a hint of minty flavor. Glassware: cocktail glass Garnish: sprig of fresh mint Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz apricot brandy 1/2 oz lime juice fresh sprig of mint for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
Kissy Suzuki The Kissy Suzuki is one of the cocktails on Metro Marche's Bond Cocktails menu for the release ofCasino Royale. Pour the vodka, raspberry puree, cranberry juice, and apple juice into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain equally into two highball glasses half-filled with ice cubes. 4. Top with 7-Up. 5. Garnish with strawberries. Kiwi Martini There are a few different recipes for a Kiwi Martini floating around. Some call for regular sugar and some for simple syrup to muddle with the kiwi and others use a whole versus a half a kiwi. This is a good all around recipe that uses the syrup which gives you the sweetness of sugar in a mixing-friendly, dissolved format. Prep Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: kiwi slice Ingredients: 3 oz vodka or citrus vodka 1/2 skinned kiwi 1/2 tsp simple syrup Kiwi slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Muddle the skinned kiwi with the simple syrup in acocktail shaker. 2. Add ice and vodka. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 5. Garnish with a slice of kiwi. Lemon Drop Pucker up for this sour cocktail that makes a greatdessert drink. You can enhance the citrus flavor by adding 1/4 ounce Cointreau and using only 1/2 teaspoon sugar syrup. For the more adventurous, there is also a Lemon Drop shooter. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 3/4 oz lemon juice 1 tsp sugar syrup Lemon twist for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with the lemon twist. Leprechaun Leap The Leprechaun Leap is a fun cocktail created by Star Hodgson of Star Cocktails. The mix of a very fine vodka, namely Ketel One, and Domaine de Canton with kiwi is very interesting. The ginger and fruit flavors are accented with the smooth texture that egg whites add to drinks. Understandably, some people are opposed to drinking raw eggs and it is possible with this drink to skip that ingredient, though it's not quite the same. While the Leprechaun Leap is designed for St. Patrick's Day, is perfect for any time of the year, especially hot summer days. Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: slice of kiwi Ingredients: 1 oz Ketel One Vodka 1 oz Domaine de Canton 1 whole Kiwi, peeled 1 small Egg White .5 oz fresh Lemon Juice .25 -.5 oz Simple Syrup Preparation: 1. In a mixing glass muddle Kiwi until pulpy. 2. Add remaining ingredients (use less simple if your Kiwi is sweet and slightly more if tart) and give a vigorous dry shake.
3. Add Ice and shake again for 30 seconds. 4. Strain into a V-glass and garnish with a slice of Kiwi. Lichitini The Lichitini is a luscious and sweet cocktail that features Lichido Liqueur. The garnish is a single lychee which can be found, canned or fresh, at most Asian markets. If you're unfamiliar with this super sweet fruit with its extreme sour bite, I highly suggest you try one whole. After that experience you will truly appreciate the flavors of this unique variation of the Martini. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lychee Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 1/2 oz Lichido Liqueur dash of lime juice 1 pitted lychee Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Drop a lychee in the glass for a garnish.
Licorice Stick If you are one of the special people who prefer black over red licorice, this is the Martini for you. It's very simple, vodka and sambuca, garnished with a black licorice stick. The Long Beach Tea The Long Beach Tea is a variation of the iconic and notorious Long Island Iced Tea. What makes it worthy of the Long Beach moniker? The cranberry juice of course and you will also hear of many more Iced Teas. All of these drinks are easy to remember if you think of the 5 white spirits in it, add sour and that one ingredient that defines its location. Think Long Beach equals healthy despite the intoxicating mixture. Glassware: Collins glass Garnish: cranberry Ingredients: 1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz light rum 1/2 oz tequila 1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz triple sec 1 oz sour mix 1 oz cranberry juice Preparation:
Love Potion #9 There's no gaurantee that this cocktail is a love potion of any kind and it's probably not Madame Rue's magic shot. However, I can gaurantee that it looks nothing like Indian ink nor does it smell like turpentine. This Love Potion #9 is actually a really good frozen cocktail (especially with strawberry vodka and a chocolate-rimmed glass) and... who knows. Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: margarita glass Garnish: strawberry Ingredients: 1 oz strawberry, vanilla or clear vodka 1/2 oz white crme de cacao 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries scoop of vanilla ice cream 1/2 cup ice Strawberry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a blender. 2. Blend until smooth. 3. Pour into a chilled margarita glass. 4. Garnish with a strawberry. If the mix is too thick, add berries or milk; too thin, add ice or ice cream.
Lovers Lane I like to think of this Lovers Lane as my date night dessert drink. No matter if you're married and spending a night out on the town or on your first date and want to impress, following an elegant dinner for two with this luscious cocktail then hitting the clubs makes a great night. The drink is caffeinated, both by via the Lotus Blue Vodka and theX-Rated Fusion liqueur, so I definitely recommend drinking it before what is going to be a late night. The Lovers Lane is very fruity and the lemoncelloadds that rich thickness you're often looking for in a dessert drink. Glass type: cocktail glass Ingredients: 1 1/4 oz Lotus Blue Vodka 1 oz X-Rated Fusion liqueur 1/2 oz lemoncello 1/4 oz fresh lime juice dash of Angostura aromatic bitters Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Mad Eye Martini The Mad Eye Martini is a fantastic Halloween cocktailwith a gruesome eyeball garnish. The drink itself has that beautiful pale blue color, signature of Hpnotiqand the flavor is as pleasant as can be with the lychee accent. Creating the garnish is an art and may take a bit of practice to get the
right look, but it's a fun little project to work on and have prepared before your monster mash. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lychee eyeball Ingredients: 1/2 oz Hpnotiq liqueur 1 oz super premium vodka 2 oz lychee juice For Eyeball Garnish: 1 canned grade AA lychee in syrup, drained 1/4 tsp cherry, strawberry or raspberry preserves 1 blueberry Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Lychee Eyeball Garnish: 1. Dry lychee and fill with preserves 2. Place blueberry, blossom end facing out, into the cavity. 3. Skewer with cocktail pick (search for Halloween theme picks or picks that look like a miniature ice pick for the full affect).
Madras The Madras is a refreshing, fruity highball drink that should be included on everyone's drinks to know list. Yet, while it may be an easy drink to make (vodka, cranberry, orange), it can be easily confused with its vodka-cranberry cousins like the Cape Codder(vodka-cranberry), Sea Breeze (vodka-cranberrygrapefruit) and Bay Breeze (vodka-cranberry-pineapple).
Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: orange Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 3 oz cranberry juice 1 oz orange juice Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and cranberry juice into a highball glass. 2. Stir well. 3. Top off with orange juice. Mango Tonic Take a mixed drink as simple as the Vodka Tonic, add a little of the delicious Marie Brizard Mango Liqueur and top it with tonic water and you have one great drink. That's what I found out the day I first made this drink and I decided to give it an obvious, easy name to go with the easy-to-make drink. I originally used Oval Vodka and Q Tonic in the mix and highly recommend going with ingredients of comparable value because it makes the drink and since Marie Brizard makes great liqueurs, there's no reason to cheapen it.Ingredients: Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz vodka 1/2 oz Marie Brizard Mango Liqueur tonic to fill 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters lime wedge for garnish
tonic to fill 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters lime wedge for garnish
Preparation: 1. Build ingredients in an ice-filled highball glass. 2. Garnish with a lime wedge. Melon Ball(shooter) The Melon Ball is a delicious, fruity vodka shooter. It is flavored with a melon liqueur (Midori is a good choice) and pineapple juice. In the expansive choice of shooters, this is one of the better tasting that has a hard vodka base but is a little more mellow than some of the others. You can also take this recipe and strain it into a cocktail glass or build it into a tall mixed drink. Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 1/4 oz melon liqueur 1/4 oz pineapple juice 1/2 oz vodka Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a shot glass. Melon Patch The Melon Patch is a favorite spring brunch cocktailbecause it is light, refreshing and full of flavor, excellent with a fresh fruit salad. For the melon-flavored liqueur, Midori is one of your best bets and pairs nicely with the lighter, fruitier vodkas. You can also add extra flavor by infusing your own vodka with fruit or choosing one of the many flavored vodkas on the market.
Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: orange slice Ingredients: 1 oz melon liqueur 1/2 oz triple sec 2 oz vodka 4 oz club soda orange slice for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the first three ingredients into a cocktail shakerwith ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a highball glass with ice cubes. 4. Add the club soda. Miami Iced Tea From the Long Island Iced Tea we travel down the coast for a Miami Iced Tea and it has a few more changes than some of the other "Iced Teas." In this fruitier version the tequila takes a hike and peach schnapps is brought in, cranberry juice is added (as in the Long Beach Tea) and colas out and lemon-lime soda is in. The Miami Iced Tea is a fantastic drink, especially for hot summer days. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: lemon/lime soda Ingredients:
1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz light rum 1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz peach schnapps 1/2 oz triple sec 1 oz sour mix 1 oz cranberry juice splash of lemon-lime soda
Midnight Martini The Midnight Martini is an interestingly simple cocktail that, when darker liqueurs are used, looks as dark as midnight. Try this one out with Van Gogh's Espresso or Double Espresso Vodka or Three Olives Triple Shot Espresso, though do be warned that all of them have quite the caffeine kick. Midnight Martinis are also often served as a shooter, just shake, strain into a shot glass and go for it. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 3 1/2 oz vodka or coffee vodka 1/4 oz coffee liqueur Lemon twist for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
2. Stir with a bar spoon. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Mind Eraser When drunk properly, the Mind Eraser creates a head rush similar to the one you get when you've eaten ice cream too fast. The drink is a sort of lowballshooter. It's built over ice and served with a straw. The trick is to drink the all of it through the straw in one shot. When you do this the carbonation gives you a quick head rush before the alcohol sets in to do it's job. The Mind Eraser is a popular party shooter that poses the challenge of finishing it off in one drink. View Video: Top 5 Shooters Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Shooter Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz coffee liqueur Soda water Lime wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Mistletoe martini
Meet me under the mistletoe. Well, I'm not sure if the Mistletoe Martini has the same effect as mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, but who knows. This holiday cocktail is, however, a nice mix of chilled cranberry tea, orange and lemon juices, and vodka. If you're planning on making quite a few of these do yourself a favor and steep a large pot of tea to begin with so that it's ready for future drinks. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 2 Cocktails Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 2 oz orange juice 3 oz cranberry tea, chilled 3/4 oz lemon juice 3 tsp sugar Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into two chilled cocktail glasses. Moscow Mule This is a refreshing vodka highball that uses ginger beer. Ginger beer is a non-alcoholic "root beer" that has a sweet taste and can be found at most organic grocers. Both the Moscow Mule and Dark & Stormy are classic mixed drinks with ginger beer and are drinks every bartender should know. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail
Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients: 1 3/4 oz vodka 1/2 oz lime juice Ginger beer Lime wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and lime juice into a highball glass with ice cubes. 2. Top off with the ginger beer. 3. Garnish with the lime wedge. Natural Vanilla Martini This flavored martini is one of the easiest ways to enjoy a sweet vanilla flavor in a neat drink. The Natural Vanilla Martini gets its flavoring from Navan liqueur, a natural vanilla spirit that is amazing in cocktails, and when that is paired with a smoothvodka such as Belvedere a wonderful cocktail is born. The lime juice is included to offset the sweetness and add a touch of citrus depth which is necessary and a welcome splash of flavor. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: Ingredients: 1 part Navan Natural Vanilla Liqueur 1 part Belvedere Vodka squeeze of lime Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Ninotchka Cocktail Whenever I make this drink I think of that great old romance film by the same name. I like to use white crme de cacao in a Ninotchka simply because, in this instance, it looks better when mixed than brown crme de cacao. You can also vary the amount of lemon juice to find a taste combination you like the best. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Ingredients: 2 oz vodka or vanilla vodka 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz white crme de cacao Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Nutty Martini Sweet, nutty, and a great dessert martini is the best way to describe the Nutty Martini. Frangelico is a hazelnut flavored liqueur that also has hints of coffee, cocoa and vanilla and, in this case, it is the focus of the flavor, the vodka and simple syrup are only background elements. The Nutty Martini is very simple and very popular so it's a sure crowd pleaser. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 3/4 oz Frangelico 1 tsp simple syrup Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and Frangelico into a cocktail shakerhalffilled with ice. 2. Add the simple syrup. 3. Shake. 4. Strain into a cocktail glass. October Screwdriver This Screwdriver is defined by layering Blavod black vodka on top of orange juice. It's a great cocktail forHalloween parties as it fits the orange and black color scheme perfectly. This is one of the recipes in which the brand of spirit is key, no other vodka will create the same effect. Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: orange Ingredients: 3 oz Blavod vodka 3 oz orange juice Preparation: 1. Pour the orange juice into a collins glass filled with ice. 2. Slowly float the Blavod on top. Orange Martini Take the orange twist on a Vodka Martini for the night. This lightly orange-flavored cocktail is a good way to cool down on hot summer nights. As Martinisgo, this is one of my
favorite aperitifs and pairs well with salmon, salads or any other light, "springy" meal. Many people prefer vodka in this cocktail, but I find that using gin creates a beautifully complex citrus drink. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: orange twist Ingredients: 2 oz gin or vodka 1/2 oz triple sec 1/2 oz dry vermouth dash of orange bitters orange twist for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker half-filled with cracked ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with the orange twist. PAMA Ginger-tini Grapefruit, ginger and pomegranate, it's a delightful fruit blend. The PAMA Ginger-tini was created by Dale DeGroff and features PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur. DeGroff has two versions of this drink that is sometimes referred to as a PAMA Martini (I like to distinguish this from the other PAMA Martini, a totally different drink), the recipe below is the sour-mixstyle. The other version sounds just as pleasing and uses honey syrup, lemon juice and fresh ginger as opposed to the sour mix and ginger syrup. Enjoy!
Glass type: martini glass Garnish: lemon zest Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur 1 1/2 oz premium vodka 1/2 oz grapefruit juice 1/2 oz sour mix 1/2 oz Monin Ginger Syrup lemon zest for garnish Preparation: 1. Shake all the ingredients well with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. 2. Garnish with a spiral cut lemon zest. PAMA Martini This has to be one of my favorite flavored martinis. I've had it on numerous occasions, made by numerous bartenders and myself, and I have yet to have a bad one. Since the release of PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur this drink (seen on many drinks menus as a POM Martini) has caught on in bars and lounges all over because the premium liqueur made a pomegranate-flavored martini easy to make with the taste of real, fresh pomegranate. Glass type: martini glass Garnish: lemon zest Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur 1 1/2 oz premium vodka 1/4 oz orange-flavored liqueur lemon zest for garnish Preparation: 1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing glass. 2. Add ice and shake vigorously.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass 4. Garnish with a lemon zest. Beet Down #2-Mike Henderson A variety of fruits with the snap of ginger and mint make up this cocktail, though the most interesting aspect has to be the beets. If you have not tried a beet cocktail and are dying to see what it's like, this is one of the best options I've found to date. Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: sprig of mint/skewered From Mike Henderson of Denver, Colorado 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Tangerine Vodka 1 oz Aperol 3/4 oz Yuzu Juice 1/2 oz Ginger Syrup* 1/4 oz Grapefruit Juice 1 oz Marinated Beet Cubes 1 other Large Sprig of Mint In a mixing glass or tin combine and muddle beet cubes, yuzu juice, grapefruit juice, and ginger syrup. Add Finlandia Tangerine, Aperol, and mint. Add ice and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Double fine strain into a Collins Glass filled with 3 cubes of Kold Draft or Block ice. Garnish with a large sprig of mint and 3 beet cubes skewered on a cocktail pick. Finish with a stainless steel spoon straw. *For Ginger Syrup combine 2 cups coarsely chopped ginger, 2 cups sugar, and 1.5 cups water. Simmer over heat for 1 hour, bottle, and let cool.
Col. Peppers Lonely Mango-Jay Hudson Mango and spicy peppers are a natural fit because the mango tames the heat and I've found it to be one of the best tropical
fruits for doing so. In this drink there are two mango elements and two spicy elements and they balance each other out rather well. From Jay Hudson of Denver, Colorado 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Mango Vodka 3/4 oz Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper 3 dash Tabasco Sauce 2 oz Mango Puree 2 oz Club Soda Pour 1 1/4 oz of Finlandia Mango, 3/4 oz of Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper into a mixing glass with ice. Add 3 dashes of Tabasco Sauce, and 2 oz of Mango Puree. Shake to mix. Strain into glass over ice. Garnish with a jalapeno. Elderflower Creamsicle-Bridget Cheslock Clementines make a rare appearance in cocktails, though I think these citrus should be used more often as they're delectably sweet. They are also rather versatile when combining with other flavors, here clementines are paired with elderflower, tangerine, and vanilla for a delightful sparkler. From Bridget Cheslock of San Diego, California Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Tangerine Vodka 3 drops St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur 2 oz Freshly Squeezed Clementine Juice 3 oz Polar Vanilla Sparkling Water 1 dash Angostura Bitters Add ice to a shaker. Pour Finlandia Vodka, St. Germain and Clemetine Juice into the shaker and shake for 8 seconds. Pour shaker ingredients into a highball glass with ice. Pour Polar
Vanilla Sparkling Water into highball glass. Add a dash of Angostura Bitters. Finish with a garnish of a Clementine twist. Fins of Faith-Ken Kodys I would wager that if you tried to guess how this cocktail will taste, you would be wrong. It is such a mash of odd ingredients - from coconut and Chartreuse to peppers and arugula - that it is truly a drink that has to be tasted in order to enjoy its incomparable flavor. However, don't let its unorthodox construction throw you off, it's certainly worth trying. Glass type: highball glass Ganish: baby arugula/ pickled peppadew From Ken Kodys of Denver, Colorado 1 1/4 oz Finlandia Vodka 1/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse 2 1/2 oz Coconut Water 1/2 oz Demerara Syrup (2-1) 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice 2 dash Peychauds Bitters 4 Peppadew Peppers 5-8 Baby Arugula Leaves Muddle 4 Baby Arugula Leaves and 3 Peppadew at the bottom of amixing glass. Add Demerara, Finlandia, Chartreuse, Lime, Coconut water and Peychauds bitters. Add 3 cubes block ice and shake for 10 seconds Fill Finlandia highball with block ice and double fine strain contents to remove all solids. Garnish with Baby Arugula and Pickled Peppadew.
Flor De Jamaica Cup-Gary Gruber Delightful. This is the only word I can use to describe this drink. It is floral and fruity, straight out of the garden and a easy, fun drink to mix up anytime.
Glass type: highball glass Garnish: basil leaf/red grapefruit zest From Gary Gruber of Prospect, Kentucky 1 3/4 oz Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka 1/2 oz Pama Liqueur 1/2 oz Monin Hibiscus Syrup 1/2 oz Pom Juice 1 Ruby Red Grapefruit slice (No rind) 6 Basil leaves Build in shaker - Muddle a slice of ruby red grapefruit with (5) Basil leaves. Add Ice and remaining ingredients. Shake and double strain over glass filled with ice. Garnish with a freshly smacked basil leaf and red grapefruit zest.
Harvest Moon-Jake Bliven This intriguing drink has autumn written all over it. The meadbased syrup is spiced up wonderfully and that mixes well with the apple flavorings, fig and pecans. The vodka and vermouth is a simple base for what deceptively seems like a complex cocktail. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon/apple From Jake Bliven of Eugene, Oregon 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Vodka 1/2 oz Dry vermouth 3/4 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz Spiced mead reduction (2:1 mead/ sugar simmered with 2 cloves, pinch of fresh ginger, cinnamon stick, 2 allspice berries and a star anise) 1 dash Angostura bitters 1 dash Bar Code Baked Apple Bitters
1 1/2 oz dry Granny Smith fermented apple cider (I used Woodchuck cider from Vermont) 3 figs baked on a low setting with crushed pecans Prepare figs and allow them to cool. Once cool, muddle three baked figs with Finlandia vodka. Add dry vermouth, lemon juice, spiced mead reduction, and bitters. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into ahighball glass filled with ice cubes. Top with Fermented apple cider, stir to mix in and garnish with a half sliced fig, lemon slice, "fanned" granny smith apple slice.
Look Better Naked-Scott Fitzgerald There are two things that I like about this simple drink. One, it is a nice idea for those who are watching their calories because it shows how the use of a low calorie sweetener and a flavored vodka can make a drink that is far from boring. Two, the way it is constructed with layers of ice and lemon wheels is fun and makes the highball a little more interesting. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon wheel From Scott Fitzgerald of Odenton, Maryland 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Cranberry Vodka 1 Packet of Low Cal Sweetener 1/2 Squeeze Fresh Lemon Soda Water Fill Glass 1/3 with ice, top with lemon wheel. Repeat 2 more times for "layered" look. In a separate glass, combine Finlandia, sweetener, and fresh lemon juice. Gently shake. Put straw through the center of the lemon wheels to hold them in place, Pour ingredients over ice and lemon wheels. Top off with Soda Water.
Mixed Berry Fizz-Christine Misiura Who doesn't love a berry medley? They are some of my favorite cocktails when fresh berries are in season and this fizz is a nice use of the tiny fruits. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon/berry pinwheel Christine Misiura of Orlando, Florida 1 oz Finlandia Raspberry Vodka 1 oz Finlandia Black Currant Vodka 1 oz Creme de Mure (blackberry liqueur) 4 other fresh blackberries 3 other fresh raspberries 4 other lemon wedges 3/4 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup 5 oz Sprite Muddle blackberries, raspberries and lemon wedges. Add ice to mixing glass. Add Finlandia Vodkas, simple syrup and creme de mure. Shake vigorously and strain over fresh ice into glass (20 oz highball). Top with Sprite and lightly stir. Garnish with lemon/berry pinwheel. Nothing Left To Lose-Todd Thrasher The one ingredient of this very impressive cocktail that may have you baffled is the soda. Though the recipe does not give a specific recommendation for 'bay leaf soda with roasted lemon,' I have used this recipe found in the Washington Post and the results were phenomenal. Just another excuse to use the old fashioned soda siphon! Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon From Todd Thrasher of Alexandria, Virginia 1 oz Finlandia Vodka 1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
3 oz Bay Leaf Soda with Roasted Lemon 4 dash Lemon Bitters Fill a glass with crushed ice. Add Vodka and Chartreuse. Add Bitters and Soda. Stir gently. Peach Treaty-Jason Beatty I enjoy the subtle flair of this drink, it truly is the treat that the name implies. It has a delightful peach and tea combination accented with an orange blossom honey syrup and, the not-tomiss kicker, violet blooms in ice. A springtime delight? I think so. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon wheel From Jason Beatty of Indianapolis, Indiana 4 1/2 cl Finlandia Classic Vodka [about 1 1/3 oz] 9 cl Rooibos Tea with Berries [about 3 oz] 9 cl Peach Juice [about 3 oz] 2 cl Orange Blossom Honey with Water [about 3/4 oz] 1 1/2 cl Lemon Juice [about 1/2 oz] 3 Ice Spheres with Violets Frozen Within Add ice spheres into glass. Add ingredients into mixing glass with separate ice and shake vigorously. Strain ingredients over ice spheres into glass. Garnish with lemon wheel.
Pearl Harbor For a simple mixed drink with the flavor of the tropics, the Pearl Harbor is an excellent choice. It calls for vodka, although some people will ask for pineapple vodka. Personally, I find that is an overkill of pineapple and masks the melon flavoring to the point where its almost unrecognizable. Bartenders, add this drink to your list of "drinks to know."
Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: maraschino cherry/pineapple chunk Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 1 oz melon liqueur pineapple juice maraschino cherry for garnish pineapple chunks for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and melon liqueur into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with pineapple juice. 3. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and pineapple chunk on a cocktail skewer.
Peppermint Froth What is it about cold, minty cocktails that draw us in on some of the coldest days of winter? Maybe it's because, although light and chilled, these drinks give us a warm, cozy feeling that begins at the scent and ends with a cooling thaw of the blood. Whatever it is, this Peppermint Froth is a prime example of a well-designed winter cocktail. Either of the recommended garnishes will finish the cocktail off perfectly, but I've also found that cutting a slit in a piece of mint chocolate fudge and mounting it on the rim of the glass gets a little more attention and is the ultimate indulgence. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: rocks glass Garnish: candy cane/peppermint patty Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Grey Goose Vodka 1 part peppermint schnapps 1/2 part simple syrup 1/2 part cream Candy cane or peppermint patty for garnish Preparation: 1. Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. 3. Strain into rocks glass filled with crushed ice. 4. Garnish with candy cane or peppermint patty. Midori Peppermint Kiss Mixologist Victoria DAmato Moran is a genius when it comes to holiday cocktails that include Midori. This Peppermint Kiss is an enlightening and touchy mix of of the liqueurs' melon and peppermint, a combination that she pulls off beautifully, as was also shown in the Holiday Hopper. As is proven in both drinks, the fruit and mint can work but I do caution you to use the proportions as she has because it is a well-tuned balance that can easily be thrown off. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: raspberry Ingredients: 1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
1 oz Skyy Vodka 3 oz pineapple juice 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice 1/4 oz peppermint schnapps 6 Basil Leaves, gently torn in half, ( to release oils) Raspberry for garnish
Preparation: 1. In a chilled shaker glass, add all the above ingredients. 2. Add ice, shake for 15 seconds, strain into a collins glass. 3. Garnish with a basil leaf and one raspberry sitting in front of basil in glass. Pink Flamingo This is just one recipe for a Pink Flamingo, the others I've seen are quite a bit different. UV Vodka did create a martinilike Pink Flamingo that is very similar to this one in taste when it released UV Lemonade (a pink, lemonade-flavored vodka). Other versions include vanilla schnapps, grenadine, orange juice and cream or coconut and pineapple rums, Sprite, lemonade, grenadine and simple syrup. As varied as all the Pink Flamingos out there are, they're all great summer drinks and perfect for parties. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: orange Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur orange juice dash of sloe gin
Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, Cointreau and sloe gin into ahighball glass filled with ice. 2. Top with orange juice. 3. Stir well. Pink Honey Martini The Pink Honey Martini is a delightful use of the distinct Brenjger. This honey-flavored liqueur is mixed into a Cosmopolitan-like martini, complete with vodka and cranberry juice. The Brenjger is sweet but the dash of fresh sour mix balances all of that out. This is simply a delicious cocktail and a fantastic use of the German spirit. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: martini glass Garnish: orchid flower Ingredients: 1 part Barenjaeger honey liqueur 1 part vodka Splash of cranberry juice Dash of sweet and sour mix Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled martini glass filled with ice. Planetary Punch 360 Vodka created this Planetary Punch recipe forEarth Day and it's a spectacular cocktail, both visually and in terms of taste. In the spirit of the occasion go with organic, fresh squeezed fruit that you buy locally (preferably biking or walking to the market) and skip the optional daiquiri
mix. Midori is the melon liqueur of choice for this one and adds that beautiful green glow to both this cocktail and its counterpart, the Greentini. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: cherry Ingredients: 1 1/4 oz 360 Vodka 3/4 oz melon liqueur 1/2 oz peach puree or daiquiri mix 1 oz orange juice 1 oz pineapple juice maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Drop a cherry into the glass for a garnish. Pot Of Gold Simple, elegant, refreshing, and quite lovely, this is the Pot of Gold. It may only have five ingredients, but these are some intense flavors that work extremely well together. Reading this recipe, you may think that it is a gentle, sweet drink, that is until you get to the ginger beer. It is this addition that really kicks the flavor up to a new level of interest. I found that I prefer this made with St. Germain over an elderflower syrup, though the drink made with the syrup by either Darbo or Monin were very good as well. Which you choose to use may just be a matter of what is on hand. For
a springtime drink (St. Patrick's Day and not), this is a gem that will soon become a favorite. Read more about Voli Vodka and the drink's nutrition info below the recipe. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: mint/cucumber wheel Ingredients: 2 oz Voli Lyte Vodka 1/2 oz Elderflower syrup or liqueur 4 chunks cucumber (inch thick) 8 fresh mint leaves Ginger beer Mint and cucumber for garnish Preparation: 1. Muddle cucumber and mint. Add Voli and elderflower. 2. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass, then top with ginger beer. 3. Garnish with cucumber wheel and mint. Pravda Mintini Here's a new holiday favorite just begging to be shared with your secret santa under the mistletoe. This Pravda Mintini recipe makes two glowing green drinks with a delightful blend of mint, though I will say that this is a very heavy mint and is an acquired taste. Despite the use of creme de menthe, the drink is not one of those creamy (though it is very sweet)martinis that are most common
among the mint variety so it's a nice change of pace for the mint lover. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 2 Cocktails Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: candy cane Ingredients: 5 oz Pravda Vodka 2 oz green creme de menthe 1 1/2 oz peppermint schnapps Mini candy canes for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake vigorously. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Add candy cane garnish Purple Hooter (shooter) A popular purple shooter that is smooth and tasty. The Purple Hooter is also called a Purple Kamikaze or a Raspberry Gimlet. Glassware: shot glass Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 1/2 oz black raspberry liqueur 1/2 oz lime juice Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a shot glass. Purple Martini This is a unique Martini that has one key ingredient, a new (released in
2007) energy/fruit/health drink called PURPLE. The juice tastes like a fruitier Welch's grape juice, it's syrupy but has a nice blend of ingredients (all antioxidants) including blueberry, blackcurrant, pomegranate, cranberry, purple plum and black cherry, and is great for mixing into cocktails when properly diluted. There's another PURPLE Martini I've heard of that is 2 parts PURPLE, 1 partvodka and 1/2 part triple, but this is too syrupy for me. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 3/4 oz PURPLE juice drink 1/2 oz triple sec Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Raspberry Smash The Hollywood is an interesting mix of fruit flavors that one may not think of at first as a possible combination. Realistically, the dark black raspberry and light pineapple work well together in a sort of yin and yang relationship. The Hollywood (sometimes called a Raspberry Smash) is a rather popular juice drink, and one that bartenders should know. If you prefer, the Hollywood Martini is a neat version of thisrocks juice recipe. Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: pineapple chunk Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz black raspberry liqueur pineapple juice pineapple chunk for garnish
Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and black raspberry liqueur into acollins glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with pineapple juice. 3. Garnish with a pineapple chunk. Blue Ice Raspberry Truffle This Raspberry Truffle is the ultimate dessert cocktail. It's a scrumptious mix of coffee and raspberry flavors, mixed with premium vodka and topped with a generous supply of whipped cream, it's the perfect ending to an elegant dinner, or anytime you have a super-sweet tooth. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: whipped cream Ingredients: 1 oz Blue Ice American Vodka 3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur 3/4 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur Fresh whipped cream Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, Kahlua, and Chambord into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled, 8 ounce cocktail glass or tall wine glass. 4. Top with a pile of fresh whipped cream.
The Raven The Raven is a dark and mysterious cocktail that I've adapted from other recipes. I like this one because it contains ingredients that are more common in bars than those found in other Ravens. The key to this drink is the layer which is rather easy to obtain in this mix as the blue shaken mix is much lighter than the Chambord and they rarely break the layers unless stirred. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: chambord Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz rum 1 oz blue curacao 1/2 oz Chambord Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, rum and blue curacao into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. 3. Slowly pour the Chambord over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top. Razzie Jazzie One of my challenges with Hiram Walker Original Cinn Schnapps was to create a summertime drink with this liqueur that tastes like a breakfast cinnamon roll. The Razzie Jazzie was the result and it's surprisingly refreshing. The cinnamon and jasmine are very pleasant and mild together and while I tried regular lemonade, the drink was missing something and the raspberry lemonade was the key, taking the bitter out of the lemonade. Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: tall glass Garnish: fresh mint/lemon slice Ingredients: 1 part ABSOLUT vodka 1 part Hiram Walker Original Cinn Schnapps 2 parts chilled jasmine tea 2 parts raspberry lemonade 1 barspoon simple syrup Fresh mint for garnish Lemon slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, schnapps, and syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake well. 2. Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice cubes. 3. Add equal parts iced jasmine tea and raspberry lemonade. 4. Stir well and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lemon slice. The Red Carpet This Red Carpet cocktail is completely different than the Red Carpet debuted during the 2008 Academy Awards. Where that one had cranberry and Patron Tequila, this 2009 debut features the oh-so-smooth Oval Vodka, Campari and the ever popular flavor of pomegranate. The Campari transforms this from an ordinary vodka cocktail into a before Oscar dinner party delight and, in the end, gives the drink some complexity that differentiates it from just anotherpomegranate martini. Overall, The Red Carpet is an impressive drink, worthy of an Oscar itself. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon slice Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Oval Vodka 1 oz Campari 1 oz Hiram Walker Pomegranate Schnapps 1 oz pomegranate juice 1/2 oz simple syrup Lemon slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake vigorously. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a lemon slice.
Red Lotus In the Red Lotus cocktail the distinct flavor of lychee liqueur is accented with the lighter taste of cranberry. It's an interesting play of flavors that is both intensely sweet and delicately refreshing. I like to garnish a Red Lotus with three pitted lychees skewered on a cocktail pick. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: red lotus/lychees Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1 1/2 oz Lichido Liqueur 1 oz cranberry juice Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, Lichido and
cranberry juice into acocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Reindeer Ceasar A slightly easier version of a Bloody Caesar, the Reindeer Caesar is a great morning drink. The main difference between the two is that this one adds a sprinkle of nutmeg, thus the holiday and reindeer connection. You can also rim the glass using lemon juice and sea salt. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: nutmeg Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 6 oz clamato juice 2 tsp lemon juice 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce 1 tsp Wocestershire sauce Pinch of nutmeg Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a highball glass with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Belvedere Royal Wedding Punch Whether you're watching a Royal Wedding, planning your own, or simply looking for an elegant and fascinating party punch, this is a fine option. The punch is filled with tastes for those with a sophisticated taste. The mix includes Belvedere Vodka,
green tea, apple and lemon, and the clincher, just enough absinthe to add intrigue. Notice in the photo that it's garnished with lemon, lime, and blueberry. These are fantastic options, though other seasonal fruits will make equally suitable substitutes. Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Punch Bowl Glass type: punch bowl Garnish: lemon/lime/berries Ingredients: 1.5 Litres (50oz) Belvedere Pure Vodka 50 oz green tea 20 oz apple juice 3 oz Absinthe 20 oz Lemonade 8 oz Simple Syrup Preparation: 1. Combine the ingredients in a punch bowl over ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Garnish with lemons, limes, and berries (or other fruits). Russian Quaalude One of the most popular shots, the Russian Quaalude is quickly becoming a classic. Frangelico is one of the most common hazelnut liqueurs and a great choice for this shot. Remember to layer the spirits in order so that they float on top of each other correctly for the full effect. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Shooter
Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 1 oz hazelnut liqueur 1 oz Irish cream liqueur 1 oz vodka Preparation: 1. Pour the hazelnut liqueur into a shot glass. 2. Float the Irish cream liqueur on top of the first layer. 3. Float the vodka on top of the second layer. The Screaming Greenie-Tad Carducci How about a savory frozen cocktail? Though they are far from the ordinary, these drinks are a nice change of pace and I really like the simplicity of flavors here which are dominated by anise and basil. Glass type: highball/Collins glass Garnish: basil leafs/lemon wheel From Tad Carducci of Hackettstown, New Jersey 2 oz Finlandia Vodka 1/2 oz French Absinthe 1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice 1 3/4 oz Simple syrup 8 fresh Italian basil leaves 8 oz ice Add all ingredients to the cup of a high-powered blender. Add one cup of ice and blend on high for 20 seconds Pour into highball or Collins glass. Lightly smack basil leaf to release aroma and garnish with basil leaf and lemon wheel. Sreaming Orgasm(shooter) When someone orders a Screaming Orgasm they are looking for an Orgasm with vodka included. This small difference makes it
easy to add both shooters to your bartender's repertoire. The Screaming Orgasm tastes the same as it's predecessor but is thinner and more potent. Both are popular party shots and the combination of liqueurs is one of the more pleasant flavors among shooters. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 1/4 oz vodka 1/4 oz amaretto liqueur 1/4 oz coffee liqueur 1/4 oz Irish cream liqueur Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a shot glass. Sreaming Viking The Screaming Viking is one of those drinks that didn't exist until a TV character ordered it - think theFlaming Homer/Moe. In this instance it was the first episode of the sixth season of Cheers. This was the drink that everyone ordered and Woody made to win a bet and save both his and Sam's jobs (read the plot). The garnish is what makes this drink it different than other vodka "martinis" like the April Rain. It's also said that a half a pint of cider on the rocks with a shot of Drambuie was called a Screaming Viking. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes
Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: celery stalk/cucumber spear Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 1 oz dry vermouth 1 oz lime juice celery stalk and cucumber spear for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a celery stalk and cucumber spear.
Screwdriver Looking for a little Vitamin C? The orange juice in a Screwdriver makes this cocktail one of the best brunch picks. It's a favorite mixed drink that is very easy to make and a nice, refreshing highball for summer. Make your Screwdriver even better with fresh squeezed orange juice. View Video: 5 Easy Vodka Cocktails Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: lemon Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 5 oz orange juice
Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in a collins glass with ice. 2. Stir well. Sea Breeze The Sea Breeze is one of many popular vodka and juice mixed drinks that every aspiring bartender should know. There are a few drinks that can be easily confused with the Sea Breeze: the Greyhoundis grapefruit juice only, the Bay Breeze is pineapple and cranberry juices, and the Cape Codder is cranberry juice only. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: grapefruit Ingredients: 1 3/4 oz vodka 3 oz cranberry juice 1 oz grapefruit juice Grapefruit slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and cranberry juice into a highball glass with ice cubes. 2. Stir well. 3. Top off with the grapefruit juice. 4. Garnish with the grapefruit slice.
Soul Trip Tripple The Soul Trip Tipple is a concoction I really enjoyed in my experiments with nectars as drink sweeteners, replacing simple
syrups and sour mixes. This cocktail uses guava nectar, a readily available ingredient that you should be able to find in the juice section of most grocery stores. It adds the sweetness the drink needs as well as contributing a great tropical fruit flavor. I also liked the look of the drink when served in a white wine glass as it allows ample room for the raspberries to float to the top. An added bonus: when you're done with the drink you have 3 spiked raspberries to enjoy, they're delicious! Glass type: white wine glass Garnish: raspberry Ingredients: 2 oz vodka 1/2 oz guava nectar 1/2 oz lemon juice 2 dashes of bitters 3 fresh raspberries for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a well-chilled white wine glass with raspberries dropped in the bottom.
Speranza Cinzano Bianco Vermouth, which is called for in this Speranza recipe, is a delicate sweet vermouth that is not as full bodied as Cinzano's Rosso. In this cocktail it is a great compliment to the intense flavors of Campari and adds just enough sweetness to that dry aperitif without fighting it with too much sweetness like other sweet vermouths. The Speranza makes a fantastic aperitif,
is a nice introduction to Campari and is similar to the ever popular Negroni. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: orange wedge Ingredients: 3/4 oz Cinzano Bianco Vermouth 3/4 oz Campari 1/2 oz SKYY Vodka orange wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Garnish with an orange wedge. If you like this cocktail, try these... Midori Spiders Kiss Mixologist Victoria DAmato-Moran has created some fantastic Halloween cocktails and this Spider's Kiss is possibly the most spectacular of the lot (see below for other cocktails). This cocktail has all of the gruesome style you want for a haunting party, yet it is absolutely delicious. The visual effect combines chocolate spider webs dripping with "blood" (grenadine) surrounding the unmistakable green glow of Midori. It's quite the sight, just be sure to chill the glass after the applying the webbing for the ultimate ghoulish cocktail. Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: martini glass Garnish: chocolate dipped orange slice Ingredients: 1 part Midori Melon Liqueur 1 part SKYY Vodka
Juice from 1/2 lemon Chocolate syrup Grenadine Chocolate dipped orange slice for garnish
Preparation: 1. Draw a chocolate web into a martini glass. 2. Place in freezer and chill for a ghostly effect. 3. Shake all ingredients and strain into glass. 4. For a blood effect, drizzle grenadine down the side of the glass. 5. Garnish with a chocolate dipped orange slice. Square One Organic Sensation This fresh, minty cocktail is the perfect compliment for a spa treatment, even if the spa is in your own home.Square One Organic Vodka, maraschino liqueur and Spa Nectar (made of cucumber, agave nectar and ginger) all combine into a refreshingly complex Square One Sensation. Mid-summer is the perfect time to create this cocktail, using fresh ingredients straight from the garden. Spa Nectar: Ingredients: 2 cucumbers, peeled and sliced thinly (preferably English Cucumber) 1 1/4 cup Madhava Organic Agave Nectar (may substitute simple syrup for a less sweet cocktail) 1 tsp fresh, minced ginger Preparation: 1. Place the ingredients in a glass jar. 2. Stir to combine. 3. Cover and let stand overnight in refrigerator to allow flavors to marry before use. 4. Store in refrigerator.
Steel Helmet The Steel Helmet is essentially a White Russian with, well, a helmet. The topper and distinguishing mark is a float of Galliano liqueur, a stunning liqueur with spicy tones, and this extra little touch adds a nice aspect to the favorite cocktail. Either milk or cream will work here and is a matter of personal preference. If you're looking for a thicker drink, cream is the better choice and since it is served on the rocks that really is the best choice. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail
Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish:float galliano Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz coffee liqueur Milk or cream to fill Galliano liqueur Preparation: 1. Build the vodka, coffee liqueur, and milk or cream in an old-fashioned glass. 2. Stir well. 3. Float Galliano on top by slowly pouring it over the back of a bar spoon. Stoplight (shooter) The Stoplight is one of those interactive and challenging shots (okay, a few shots) that are fun but powerful. The novelty of this shot is the presentation, which resembles a the colors of a stoplight, and the drinker's ability to drink all three shots, one right after the other. The best part is that it's a flavorful treat of fruits. Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 3 shots of vodka dash of cranberry juice dash of orange juice dash of melon liqueur Preparation: 1. Place three shot glasses in a line on the bar. 2. Pour one shot of vodka in each.
3. Add a splash of cranberry to the first shot glass, a splash of orange to the next and a splash of melon liqueur to the third. 4. Serve.
Strawberry Berryoska The Strawberry Berryoska recipe is amazingly simple and filled with fresh fruit, making it an ideal vodka cocktail for summer. The best aspect of this is the fresh strawberries. They are muddled to extract their juice, then remain in the glass and topped with a smooth Russian wheat vodka and lemonade, which I highly recommend making from scratch as well. Another fruit option (or addition) that is very nice isblackberry. As a bonus, use this recipe for summer picnics and barbecues and make up fresh Strawberry Lemonadefor the kids using the same ingredients (sans vodka, of course). Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: strawberry Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces Russian Standard Vodka 4 strawberries 3 ounces lemonade Strawberry for garnish Preparation: 1. Muddle the strawberries in the bottom of a tumbler or oldfashioned glass. 2. Add ice, vodka, and lemonade. 3. Garnish with strawberry slices laid out in a fan.
Stawberry Kissel Explosion-Chris Asay There is no doubt that this drink is complicated, though if you are up for a challenge and adventure in molecular mixology, it's worth checking out. Essentially, the ingredients through the bitters make up the drink and it's fantastic. The rest of the recipe describes how to make strawberry pearls by dropping a blended mix into an alginate bath. The full execution of this one is not for everyone, but it is fun. Glass type: champagne flute Garnish: strawberry From Chris Asay of Rumson, New Jersey 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Vodka 1 oz Amaretto 1 1/2 oz Lemon Juice 1 oz Orange Juice 1 1/2 oz Simple Syrup 2 dash Rhubarb Bitters 1000 ml Water [about 34 oz] 5 grams (about 1 tsp) Sodium Alginate 150 ml (about 5 oz) Strawberry Juice 50 ml (about 1 3/4 oz) Tuaca 50 ml Honey Syrup (2:1, Honey:Water) 6 grams Calcium Lactate Gluconate In a shaker combine Finlandia Vodka, Amaretto, Lemon juice, Orange Juice, Simple Syrup and Rhubarb bitters shake well. Strain into aChampagne flute rimmed with toasted almond sugar. Add in 10 Strawberry Pearls (For the strawberry pearls: prepare an Alginate bath by combining Sodium Alginate and Water.)
In a separate bowl mix Strawberry juice, Tuaca, Honey syrup and Calcium gluconolactate and mix with an immersion blender. Let solution sit for 12 hours Using a syringe drop the strawberry solution into the alginate bath. A membrane will form around the juice after moments. Use a slotted spoon to remove the pearls and rinse in water. Garnish with a Strawberry. Summer time Fruit Punch Lemonade Watermelon and parsley? Oddly enough, yes, they are the feature ingredients in this fun summertime punch from Ciroc Vodka. It may be the parsley that throws you off here, but it really does work and I think you will be pleasantly surprised and left wondering which other drinks you could use it in. For a refreshing punch, this is a great one. Once you get beyond that little anomaly, it's quite interesting. Ciroc is a very smooth vodka and is an ideal base for this nicely crafted drink in which everything just seems to come together perfectly. The sparkling pink lemonade is a must and should be easy to find. If you are having problems getting a sparkling version, simply add some club soda to a pink lemonade. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: lemon twist Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces Ciroc Vodka 3/4 ounce lemon juice 3/4 ounce agave nectar 4 slices watermelon 5 parsley leaves Sparkling pink lemonade Assorted fruits and a lemon twist for garnish
Preparation: 1. Muddle watermelon and parsley in a cocktail shaker. 2. Add remaining ingredients and ice, and shake well. 3. Double strain into an ice-filled collins glass that is halfrimmed with sugar. 4. Top with sparkling pink lemonade. 5. Garnish with assorted fruits and lemon twis Sweet Bens Pink Lemonade This pink lemonade recipe is a simple mixed drink, but that doesn't make it any less of a good drink. It is the X-Rated Fusion Liqueur that makes it stand out and adds dimension and the inspiration for the drink is interesting. X-Rated Fusion ran a poll looking for the "Hottest Cougar of all Time," the small and big screen mothers who made the biggest impact. The winner was Anne Bancroft's role as Mrs. Robinson in the 1967 classic The Graduate, and Sweet Ben's Pink Lemonade was born. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: lemon wedge Ingredients: 2 oz lemonade 1 oz X-Rated Fusion Liqueur 1 oz SKYY Vodka Lemon wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in a highball glass over ice cubes. 2. Stir. 3. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Sweet Dreams This vodka cocktail features the latest spirit from Patrn Tequila, Patrn XO Cafe Dark Cocoa. If you are familiar with the brand's great coffee liqueur, XO Cafe, you will be pleased to find the addition ofchocolate to be delightful. When this luscious liqueur is combined with other dessert flavors, such as the caramel in this cocktail, the result is a sweet treat with that little kick of tequila and coffee. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: chocolate Ingredients: 2 oz Patrn XO Cafe Dark Cocoa 3/4 oz Ultimat Vodka 1 oz Caramel syrup Preparation: 1. Rim a chilled cocktail glass with caramel syrup. Place it in the freezer if possible to solidify the caramel a bit more. 2. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into the prepared glass. Sweet Summer Days This is one of my original recipes. Every year for my birthday I treat myself to a day off spent experimenting with a new drink, one of those is Sweet Summer Days. Bacardi's Apple Rum is a sweetlight rum that is delightful on it's own but when it's mixed it adds a wonderful touch to a cocktail that is hard to reproduce with other ingredients. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: green apple/lemon
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 3/4 oz Bacardi apple rum 1/4 oz lemon juice green apple wedge or lemon wedge for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Wet the rim of a chilled cocktail glass with the lemon wedge. 4. Pour the contents of the shaker into the glass. 5. Garnish with a wedge of green apple or lemon. Tarra Christi The Tarra Christi is a very interesting cocktail created by Junior Merino for Christiania Vodka. This is one of those that shows what you can do if you experiment with combinations of fresh fruit and herbs that you may not normally think of. It combines lignonberry syrup (Darbo makes a great one), cucumber, tarragon and lime, all of which are muddled before shaking with vodka. As you read through the ingredients the 3/6 lime may seem weird because it is a 1/2 a lime, but cutting it into smaller pieces is easier to muddle. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: cucumber wheel Ingredients: 2 1/2 oz Christiania Vodka 1 oz lingonberry syrup 2 cucumber wheels 5 tarragon leaves 3/6 of a lime Preparation:
1. Muddle the lingonberry syrup, cucumber, tarragon and lime. 2. Add the vodka and ice. 3. Shake well. 4. Strain into an old-fashioned glass with ice. Tea Tini I really like this Tea Tini on spring and summer afternoons when a light, short drink is called for. Use a light iced tea for this refreshing vodka Martini and, of course, fresh squeezed lemon juice. This martini also begs for a splash of flavor and adding a small amount of berry, lavender, rosemary or chamomile to the steeping tea or using your favorite tea blend. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon wedge Ingredients: 1 3/4 ounce vodka 1 ounce sweet iced tea 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice Lemon wedge for garnish Sugar for rimming Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with sugar. 4. Garnish with the lemon wedge. Texas Tea This potent punch is perfect for any party or to mix up in a pitcher and store in the refrigerator. The recipe features five of
the six base spirits and this makes it only for the strong-willed, certainly non-driving party-goer. Be sure to serve this over ice as it dilutes the drink just enough. This "tea" and the Touchdown Teaare just simple variations on the Long Island Iced Tea. Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: cherry/lime Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Ingredients: 1 part tequila 1 part rum 1 part vodka 1 part gin 1 part bourbon 1 part triple sec 1 part sweet and sour mix cola Preparation: 1. Fill a 1 gallon pitcher with ice. 2. Pour all the ingredients, except the cola, into the pitcher. 3. Stir well. 4. Add the cola to taste. 5. Stir again. 6. Pour into a glass over ice and serve. Tootsie Roll(shooter) The Tootsie Roll is one of those shooters that adults create in an attempt to recreate some of their favorite childhood treats. This one comes pretty close and although it's not quite an exact
replica, it is a nice trip back in time and has that hint of the Tootsie Roll candy. There is also a newer, chocolatebasedTootsie Roll that uses chocolate vodka, amaretto, and chocolate syrup. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 1/2 oz coffee liqueur 1/2 oz orange juice 1/2 oz vodka
Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in a shot glass. Tornado The Tornado is a very strong mixed drink that makes a great visual impression. It's similar to a Long Island Iced Tea, complete with four spirits and a shot of cola, but this one is a little different. The manner in which it is prepared and served is integral into the effect and name behind the drink. When done right you'll have a miniature twister inside your glass, complete with flying debris (ice and sugar). Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: sugar Ingredients: 1 oz whiskey 1 oz vodka 1 oz rum
Preparation: 1. Stir the liquors with ice. 2. Strain into a collins glass. 3. Add sugar and stir again. 4. Add ice then cola. 5. Stir three times and serve with a straw. Touchdown Tea Super bowl day will never be the same with this potent potable. This recipe is great for parties because it can be adapted to make as much or as little as you need. Mix it up in a punch bowl and allow guests to serve themselves. Keep in mind whenever you're serving spiked punches to stay aware of how much people are drinking, it's easy for drinkers to over indulge when a punch is available. Now back to the football game! Prep Time: 7 minutes Total Time: 7 minutes Yield: 1 Punchbowl Glass type: punch bowl Garnish:orange/lemon/lime Ingredients: 1/2 part vodka 1/4 part tequila 1/2 part rum 1/2 part gin 1/2 part triple sec 1 1/2 parts lemon-lime Gatorade splash of cola for color orange juice for taste (optional)
Preparation: Fill a punch bowl with ice*. Pour the ingredients into the bowl using the ratios given in the recipe. Stir well. This punch is best served over ice. Have an ice bucket full of ice nearby for your guests to fill their glass before pouring the punch. *Use large chunks of ice instead of cubes as the chunk will not melt as fast as smaller pieces
Ultimate Pitcher Of Bloody Mary Mix Melodie Buell of Organic Nation Spirits was kind enough to share this recipe for a spicy Bloody Marymix with a couple of twists inspired by the Super Bowl XLIV teams, the Colts and Saints. You will find that this mix is far more complex than the standard recipe. The combination of sauces and spices makes a great base which only needs a spirit and tomato juice added when you are ready for a drink. Prep Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 10 minutes Glass type: Garnish: Ingredients: 15 oz Worcestershire sauce 1 oz olive juice 1 oz lime juice
1/2 Tbsp horseradish 1/2 Tbsp Dijon 3/4 Tbsp paprika 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp black pepper 3/4 oz hot sauce 1/2 Tbsp celery salt
Preparation: Combine the above ingredients to make about 15 ounces of mix, which can be stored in the refrigerator. To make a Bloody Mary, add Organic Nation Vodka or Organic Nation Gin and tomato juice to taste.
UV Caramel Appletini The Caramel Appletini is a delicious cocktail with all of the flavors of the fall season and pairs nicely withcaramel apples. There are other recipes for this favorite Martini and some of those use a clear apple vodka and sour apple schnapps for its "green" apple appeal, but in this version UV vodka takes care of both of those while cutting down the sour which is really nice. Glass type:cocktail glass Garnish: green apple/caramel Ingredients: 2 oz UV Green Apple Vodka 1 oz butterscotch schnapps caramel candy for garnish green apple slice for garnish Preparation:
1. Pour the vodka and schnapps into a cocktail shakerwith ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a caramel and green apple slice if desired. Vampire The Vampire cocktail is very similar to the Black Cat, the only difference being that the Vampire does not include cola. This is an excellent choice for a lowball drink that Halloween party guests will really enjoy. This drink is also known as Purple Haze. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: black raspberry Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz black raspberry liqueur cranberry juice Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and black raspberry liqueur into acocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
Vampire Kiss Martini Take a French Martini, cross it with a Vampire, ditch the juice and add a splash of bubbly and you have given birth to a Vampire Kiss Martini. The taste of the drink itself is anything but scary, it's actually very elegant and something that would work not only forHalloween, but for Valentine's Day or any Champagne-worthy occasion. For it's intended holiday, it is
perfect because the Chambord gives it a dark, almost black color. The rim on this cocktail is a little devious because the courtesy image suggests a syrup that drips along the edge while the written recipe indicates the standard sugar rim, which would be crystalline. If you want the syrupy look: drizzle a thin stream of grenadine (or a similar red syrup) on the inside of the rim of the glass. Practice and use frozen glasses for the best visual results. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: martini glass Garnish: red sugar Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Finlandia Vodka 1 1/2 oz Korbel Champagne 3/4 oz Chambord black raspberry liqueur Red sugar for rimming Preparation: 1. Rim the glass with red sugar (use food coloring) or drop in a set of wax vampire teeth for a real surprise. 2. Pour vodka and half of the Chambord in a martini glass. 3. Top with Champagne. 4. Pour the remaining Chambord over the back of a spoon to make it float. Vodka Collins This is a refreshing vodka sour drink perfect for hot days. The concept is simple and follows the classic 'collins' drink formula of spirit, sour, soda. For example, replace the vodka with gin for a Tom Collinsor with bourbon whiskey for a John Collins.
Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: Collins glass Garnish: cherry/orange slice Ingredients: 2 oz vodka Sour mix Soda water Orange slice for garnish Maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka into a collins glass filled with ice. 2. Fill with sour mix. 3. Shake by placing a tin over the glass, giving a couple of good shakes. 4. Add a splash of soda water. 5. Garnish with a cherry and orange slice flag.
Gimlet A personal favorite, the Gimlet has long been appreciated as a simply complex Martini. The unique sweetness of Rose's Lime Juice is traditionally used over fresh squeezed juice, an uncommon factor as we often hear that fresh is always better in any drink. However, a superior (fresher) Gimlet can be formed by making your own lime cordial. I also like to wipe the rim with a lime wedge, gently squeeze it over the drink and drop it in. You can also substitute the gin for vodka for a Vodka Gimlet. Prep Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lime Ingredients: 2 oz gin 1 3/4 oz Rose's lime juice or other lime cordial Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Vodka Lemon Sorbet Sorbets are a great way to cool down in the summer and serve as a light, chilled dessert for brunch and lunch. While they are more time consuming thanblended drinks, they are worth every minute of your time. This sorbet is lemon-flavored and spiked with vodka, of which I suggest using a premium brand simply because they taste so much better. Prep Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 30 minutes Yield: Approx. 5 Cocktails Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon zest Ingredients: 1/2 cup Blue Ice American Vodka 1 1/2 cup sugar 3 cups water Grated lemon zest 3 1/2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice Preparation:
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. 2. Add the lemon zest; stir until mixture comes to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes. 3. Place a fine strainer over a large bowl and pour syrup mixture through (straining out any zest). 4. Add lemon juice and vodka to the strained syrup mixture; stir until thoroughly blended. Ice Cream Maker Method: Transfer mixture to ice cream maker, process according to manufacturer's instructions. Freezer Method: Pour into a container, cover and place mixture in the freezer. When it is semi-solid, mash it up with a fork and refreeze again. When frozen place in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Cover and refreeze until ready to serve.
Whiskey Sour The Whiskey Sour is probably the most popular of all the sour drinks and rightfully so, it is a great cocktail. It is sour, yes, but the sweetness of some whiskeys and simple syrup offset any tartness, especially the sweeter bourbons like Maker's Mark. Fresh lemon juice is key for the best Whiskey sour and the choice of whiskey will create a different cocktail depending on style and brand. As some reviewers have pointed out, a more traditional recipe for a Whiskey Sour includes egg white. This does tend to tame the sourness of the drink and make it a bit smoother. The use of raw egg is a matter of choice and has fallen out of favor for
many drinkers given the potential for salmonella. If you are going to opt for the raw egg, read these tips on using eggs in cocktails. . Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: cherry Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz whiskey 1 1/2 oz lemon juice 3/4 oz sugar syrup Maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the whiskey, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled sour glass. 4. Garnish with the cherry. White Carnation There is an interesting side note about this somewhat popular mixed drink. Until it was replaced in 1998 by Dale DeGroff's variation of it, The Belmont Breeze, the White Carnation was the official drink of the Belmont Stakes. Both drinks are worthy of the status associated with the last leg of horse racing's Triple Crown. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail
Glass type: highball glass Garnish: orange slice Ingredients: 2 ounce vodka 1/2 ounce peach schnapps 2 ounce orange juice Soda water Splash of cream Orange slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka, schnapps, and orange juice into a mixing glass filled with ice. 2. Stir well. 3. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. 4. Top with soda water and a splash of cream. 5. Garnish with an orange slice. Dancing Belly The Dancing Belly is one of three great original cocktails submitted by reader Todd Mumford. Todd claims no expertise in mixology but created these drinks at home and wanted to share them with everyone. Check out his other creations: Baja Goldand Red & Yellow. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: lemon wedge Ingredients: 2 oz Ketel One Citroen Vodka 2 1/2 oz white grape juice 1/2 oz Malibu Rum juice of 1 lime wedge
Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a half-sized cocktail glass. White Christmas Dream A White Christmas Dream is a dreamy, creamyholiday cocktail that is a great dessert drink. The amaretto and vodka make a smooth combination as they do in a Godmother, but here they are underscored with an equal amount of heavy cream. For a little extra Christmas cheer, add a dusting of grated nutmeg. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: nutmeg Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz amaretto liqueur 1 oz heavy cream Nutmeg for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake vigorously. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with grated nutmeg on top. White Russian
The White Russian is a drink everyone should know. It's a simple, creamy vodka mixed drink with a nice coffee flavor that makes a great after dinner sipper. If you skip the cream you'll have a Black Russian, give the White Russian a shake at the end and you have a Dirty Bird, add amaretto and you have a Roasted Toasted Almond. The related drink list to the White Russian is almost endless. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: old-fashioned glass Garnish: cream Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 3/4 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur 3/4 oz cream Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and Kahlua into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. 2. Stir. 3. Gently top with the cream. Widow Maker This seems like a rather calm cocktail to be dubbed the Widow Maker - I could think of worse - but it may be semi-appropriate if given one too many, though I doubt it will have such an extreme effect. It is actually a nice looking mix, you have the herbal power of Jagermeister, a little vodka to smooth it out, a touch of coffee (Kahlua or the like) to add a punch and some grenadine for a bit of sweet. I do caution you to keep the first three equal, and definitely not to go overboard on the Jgermeister. If you need a touch more sweetness, add another drop of grenadine. Prep Time: 3 minutes
Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: coffee Ingredients: 1 part Jgermeister 1 part vodka 1 part coffee liqueur 2 drops grenadine Preparation: 1. Combine and shake all ingredients over ice. 2. Strain into cocktail glass. Woo Woo Woo Woo is another great peach and cranberry cocktail with a fun name that can be served in a cocktail glass or over ice in a highball. The cocktail can be transformed into a party punch by combining the ingredients in a quantity to fill a punch bowl and mixing it well before setting out. It can also be made into a shooter by mixing 1 ounce of each of the spirits. Consider the Woo Woo in any form a popular cocktail, one that every aspiring bartender should know. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail/highball glass Garnish: lime wedge Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces vodka 1 1/2 ounces peach schnapps 3 ounces cranberry juice
Preparation: 1. Place the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or highball filled with fresh ice. 4. Garnish with a lime wedge. Yellow Submarine The Yellow Submarine is an absolutely delicioustropical cocktail. The banana liqueur and white rum are key to the flavor and the banana garnish adds that finishing touch that will have you thinking of the islands. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: banana slice Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounce vodka 1/2 ounce white rum 1/2 ounce banana liqueur Banana slice for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with the banana slice. Zambodian Shooter
Unlike most shooters, the Zambodian shaken. This is a great mix of vodka, blackberry brandy and pineapple juice that can also be served in a cocktail glass and enjoyed as a slow sipper. Glass type: shot glass Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz blackberry brandy 1 oz pineapple juice Preparation: 1. Pour equal amounts of the ingredients into a shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled shot glass. Zipperhead The Zipperhead is a light vodka cocktail that features Chambord. This French liqueur is a wonderful black and red raspberry and cognac blend that is used in many cocktails. It is customary to serve this drink with a straw so that it can be mixed as you drink. Glass type: old-fashioned glass Ingredients: 1 oz vodka 1 oz Chambord 1 oz 7-Up Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in a chilled old-fashioned glasswith ice. Zorbatini
Make a Vodka Martini, hold the vermouth and, instead, use ouzo - then you have a Zorbatini. Essentially, this is an aniseflavored Martini that is both subtle in flavor and potent. The amount of ouzo(a Greek anisette liqueur) you choose to you is a personal preference but this 1/4 oz is perfect for a gentle introduction or for those who love the boldness. The Zorbatini makes a great aperitif or a nice, relaxing sipper with friends and a few munchies. Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: greek olive Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz ouzo greek olive for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the vodka and ouzo into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a Greek olive. Gummy Worm Martini I love gummy worms and this cocktail is pretty close to replicating at least a few of the flavors of the candy. That is the point of the Gummy Worm Martini, it is a mix of fruit flavors with a touch of effervescence, just like the fruit combo (two flavored vodkas) and sugary lightness (from the soda)of the gummy worms we used to gorge ourselves on when we were kids. It's a great cocktail perfect for anytime you feel the need to regress.
Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: cherry Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Three Olives Mango Vodka 1 1/2 oz Three Olives Raspberry Vodka 1/2 oz blue curacao 1 oz lemon-lime soda maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a cherry Absolut Boston Homerun This cocktail is probably my favorite way to enjoy the distinct flavor of Absolut Boston Vodka, the third in the vodka company's city series which is infused with black tea and elderflower. The sweetness of the grape juice contradicts the spicy black tea of the vodka and adds balance and brightness while the ginger ale accents that element and brings in a lighter herbal flavor. For your introduction to the vodka, the Absolut Boston Homerun is a hit. Glass type: highball glass Garnish: ginger ale Ingredients: 1 part Absolut Boston Vodka 2 parts white grape juice top with Ginger ale
Preparation: 1. Build the ingredients in a highball glass filled with ice. Blood Martini There are many ways to get a martini that has the look of a glass of blood and many of these take the "blood martini" name in some form for Halloween. Usually the "blood" is contributed by a dark juice, in the case of the Blood-tini the acai juice does the trick, and in this Blood Martini it is a combination of grape juice and blackberry syrup. Those two fruits are combined with ginger liqueur - another favorite for fall cocktails - and a great citrus vodka by Ketel One. While the drink may look like a glass of blood, the mix is actually quite delicious. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: martini glass Garnish: blackberries/raspberries Ingredients: 1 1/2 ounces Ketel One Citroen Vodka 1 ounce Ginger Liqueur 1 ounce Dark Grape Juice 1/2 ounce Blackberry Syrup Blackberries and raspberries for garnish Preparation: 1. Combine Ketel One Citroen, ginger liqueur, grape juice and blackberry syrup to a cocktail shaker full of ice. 2. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass. 3. Garnish with two blackberries or raspberries.
French Sparkle The French Sparkle features Chambord Flavored Vodka, which is exactly what it sound like: all the taste of the popular black raspberry liqueur in the lighter form of vodka. It is a fantastic option for getting the unmistakeable flavor of Chambord in anyvodka cocktail where it may be fitting (which is many). This cocktail takes that notion of substituting almost literally. It is similar to both Champagne and Chambord and Vodka and Champagne (i.e. Elit Midnight Millionaire). You get the flavor of the former and the airiness of the latter with a touch of mango nectar to sweeten things up a bit. It is a delightful drink designed for the meant-to-impress occasions, though for all its sparkle, you get the satisfaction of knowing it's really one of the easiest drinks to concoct. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: martini glass Garnish: mango slice/black raspberry Ingredients: 1 oz Chambord Flavored Vodka 1 oz Champagne 2 oz Mango Nectar Mango slice and black raspberry for garnish Preparation: 1. Shake vodka and mango nectar with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. 2. Top with champagne. 3. Garnish with a mango slice and a black raspberry.
LAX Cocktail This cocktail I named the LAX Cocktail because I created it using the Absolut Los Angeles and X-Rated Fusion. It ended up being a nice, fruity drink that allowed both spirits to shine in the mix. The lime juice and orange bitters just kind of sealed the deal which ended up being a fruity menagerie of blueberry, acai berry, acerola cherry, pomegranate, mango, blood orange, passion fruit, lime and orange. It may sound like just another fruit-filled Martini but it is in no way overly sweet or syrupy like other cocktails tend to be. Prep Time: 2 minutes Total Time: 2 minutes Yield: 1 Drink Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: maraschino cherry Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Absolut Los Angeles 3/4 oz X-Rated Fusion Liqueur fresh juice of 1/2 a lime 2 dashes orange bitters maraschino cherry for garnish Preparation: 1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. 2. Shake well. 3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 4. Drop a maraschino cherry in the glass for a garnish.
Dutch Tulip One of my favorite scents and tastes is the combination of cucumber and melon and the Dutch Tulip did not let me down. There is also another fresh flavor here and that is strawberry, which is muddled with the cucumber. After that the melon is added via Van Gogh Melon Vodka and the mix is shaken into a fine, fruity cocktail. As far as flavored vodkas go, the product line of Van Gogh is one of the best and most extensive and if you want to get a little adventurous, I would suggest playing with some alternatives to the Melon - I'm thinking banana or even pineapple. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: highball glass Garnish: cucumber slice Ingredients: 2 oz Van Gogh Melon Vodka 2 cucumber slices, 1/4 inch thick 1 Strawberry, halved Splash of soda water Preparation: 1. Place one cucumber slice and strawberry into a mixing glass. 2. Muddle and add Van Gogh Melon Vodka and ice. 3. Shake vigorously and pour into a highball glass filled with ice. 4. Top with soda water and garnish with a cucumber slice.
SKYY Melon Cucumber-tini Surprisingly, melons and cucumbers combine well for a unique flavor and aroma. What I thoroughly enjoy about this cocktail is its use of fresh sage, which is an herb rarely seen in cocktails but has great unexplored possibilities. In this instance it is paired with the sultry taste of mango and the
refreshing flavor of fresh cucumber. The orange of Cointreau and the peach bitters (Fee Brothers) are bonuses that balance everything out. Prep Time: 3 minutes Total Time: 3 minutes Yield: 1 Cocktail Glass type: cocktail glass Garnish: spanked sage leaf Ingredients: 1 1/2 parts Absolut Mango Vodka 2-3 fresh sage leaves 3 slices of cucumber 1 part simple syrup 1/2 part Cointreau dash of peach bitters Preparation: 1. Muddle cucumber, simple syrup and sage. 2. Shake with ice. 3. Fine strain into a cocktail glass. 4. Garnish with a spanked sage leaf. It focuses on a combination of fruit, including fresh cucumber and lemon with pear vodka, and the herbs elderflower and mint. You will notice the recipe giving the choice of either club soda or lemonade is given and both are great options. However, I found I liked the drink even better when made with equal parts of each.
