1. Which program do I need to enroll? - If you are new candidate, you should attend OGSP Level 1. - If you are renew candidate (OGSP Card Holder ONLY), you shall attend OGSP Level 2. 2. How long is the validity of the card? - The card is valid for 3 years. 3. How long will I get the result and when can the safety passport be claimed? - Assessment results and card can be obtained after 3 working days. 4. If failed the assessment, what do I have to do? - You have to attend the course again. 5. If I failed the assessment will the safety passport be issued? - No, the safety passport will only be issued when you pass the assessment. 6. Are participants covered by any insurance plan? - Yes, participants are covered by Group Family Takaful ( Personal Accident ). 7. What are the passing marks for the assessmenta - Completely answered assessment booklet and attended full courses.

What is it?
NIOSH-Oil and Gas Safety Passport (OGSP) System is a series of training programme designed for specific target groups on specific OSH subjects and for a specific industry. The system provides the appropriate training and assessment so as to ensure that the target groups acquire the appropriate and necessary safety and health knowledge required for their jobs and fulfill the legislative requirements and the companies policies. The series include Induction For Plant Access. The course is classified into type of program OGSP Level 1 and Level 2. OGSP Level 1 is for new worker and OGSP Level 2 for renewal.
OGSP - Modules
OGSP Level 1 - Modules The four generic modules, common to all companies in the oil and gas industry, form the core of the induction programme. Passing an assessment on each of the modules lead to the issuance of the OGSP : Module 1 : Legal Requirement on OSH By the end of this session, participants will be able to explain the applicable legislations pertaining to OSH, and reinforce the penalties for violations of the legal provision. Module 2 : Causation and Prevention of Incidents By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe the principle causes of incidents, describe the unsafe act and unsafe condition, and explain that all incidents are preventable. Module 3 : Common Hazards in the Oil and Gas Industry and Their Control Measures By the end of this session, participants will be able to indentify the common hazards in the oil and gas industry, consequences of exposure to them and describe the appropriate control measures to eliminate or reduce the risk. The programme provides the essential basic training to contractors workers and the appropriate assessment so as to ensure that these workers have acquired the appropriate and necessary safety and health knowledge before they embark on their jobs at the workplace. It also ensures that contractors fulfill their minimum legal requirements as well as the companys internal requirements.
Objectives
The OGSP - NIOSH - Oil and Gas Safety Passport implemented in Petronas, Shell and Titan plants has two specific objectives: To change the mindset of workers toward safety- first attitude, which is to elevate safety and health at the workplace to the same level as other business functions in the industry, and to practice it at the highest standard possible. To provide the basic training for contractors workers on the recognition of the hazards and risks present in the oil and gas industry, and the precautionary and control measures necessary to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and minimise accidents at the workplace. The training also provides the necessary knowledge on laws affecting safety and health at the workplace, specifically the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and its Regulations.
