Lead Acid Battery

A lead-acid battery consists of lead plates immersed in sulfuric acid. During charging, lead sulfate is converted back to lead and lead oxide. During discharging, the reverse reaction occurs which provides power. Proper maintenance like checking electrolyte levels and cleaning connections is important to maximize battery life. Regular equalization charges are also recommended.
