Interpretation In these Laws, unless there is anything repugnant to the subject or context, the terms given below shall have the following interpretations: 1. Laws shall mean the Laws of arrom. !. a" #roper shall mean in accor$ance with the Laws. b" Improper shall mean contrary to the Laws. %. &' (hall mean arrom 'oar$ ). &m shall mean arromman& arrommen. *. 'oar$ shall mean from the commencement of a boar$, after +mpire calls #lay till its completion on poc,eting of last &m of any player. -. 'rea, shall mean the first stro,e of a boar$. .. /inish shall mean the completion of the boar$. 0. #layer shall mean a arrom player 1. #lacing shall mean ,eeping the penalty an$&or $ue &m in a flat position on the playing surface within the outer circle only by the player permitte$ to $o so as per the Laws. 2he 3ueen an$&or the jumpe$ c&m shall always be place$ by the +mpire in the entre ircle as per the Laws. 14. #oc,eting shall mean putting &m an$&or 3ueen into the poc,et by a proper&improper stro,e. 11. #ush shall mean a jer, or su$$en motion of the elbow of the playing han$ instea$ of stri,ing the (tri,er with the finger. 1!. 3ueen shall mean the re$ &m. 1%. 5ue shall mean poc,eting the (tri,er with or without &m an$&or 3ueen, an$&or any outstan$ing penalty an$&or $ue c&m against the player as the case may be. 1). #enalty shall mean punishment for infringement or violation of the Laws. 1*. overing shall mean poc,eting one of his own &m by a player in the same or imme$iate subse6uent stro,e, when or after 3ueen is poc,ete$. 1-. (hot shall mean a pair or cannon. a" #air shall mean two &m or one &m an$ 3ueen facing the general $irection of the poc,et with a space in between them. b" annon shall mean two &m or one &m an$ 3ueen facing the general $irection of the poc,et without any space in between them. 1.. 2humbing shall mean ta,ing a stro,e with the thumb. 10. 2urn shall mean the right to stri,e. 11. hief 7eferee shall mean an official appointe$ to a$ministrate, supervise, control an$ give $ecisions on all matters referre$ to him in the course of a match. !4. +mpire shall mean an official appointe$ to supervise an$&or control a match. !1. a" 8pponent in singles shall mean the player presently not having his turn to play. b" 8pponent in $oubles shall mean the player sitting on the left an$&or right si$e of the player presently having his turn to play. !!. 9an$ shall mean the portion of the playing han$ from the fingers up to the wrist. !%. /inger shall mean the portion of the nail si$e of a finger up to the secon$ joint. !). Imaginary Lines shall mean the lines $rawn in extension of the arrows between the 'ase ircles. !*. (tro,e shall mean hitting the &m by the (tri,er $irectly or in$irectly. !-. a" :hite (lam shall mean poc,eting all the nine white &m an$ the 3ueen as per the Laws in the first turn of play. It may also be calle$ 'rea, to /inish. b" 'lac, (lam shall mean poc,eting all the remaining blac, &m with or without 3ueen as per the Laws in the first turn of play. NOTE: Words implying singular shall include plural and words implying masculine shall refer to the feminine also. III. Sitting Position !.. In singles, the players shall sit opposite to each other. !0. In $oubles, the partners shall sit opposite to each other, occupying all four si$es. !1. #osition a$opte$ for sitting by a player before ta,ing his turn to stri,e may be change$ at any time provi$e$ the chair or stool on which he is sitting is not lifte$, move$ an$&or $isturbe$ $uring his turn of play. %4. a" 5uring the boar$ no part of the bo$y of a player, except the playing arm shall touch the arrom 'oar$, stan$ or table on which the &' is place$.

b" 9owever, wearing&clothing, ring, bangles an$&or watch worn by a player are exempte$ $uring his turn of play, but these shoul$ not touch the playing surface. %1. +se of any material to raise an$&or a$just the height of the seat is permissible after the completion of the boar$ only, provi$e$ the height of the seat so raise$ $oes not excee$ *4 cm. %!. ;o part of the bo$y, except the han$ of the player shall go beyon$ the imaginary lines of the arrows. IV. ow to Stri!e %%. 2he (tri,er shall be struc, an$ not pushe$. %). 2he stro,e shall be ma$e with the finger with or without the support of other fingers. %*. <ny han$ may be use$ in play. %-. :hile ma,ing a stro,e, the han$ may touch the playing surface. %.. a" :hile ma,ing a stro,e, the elbow of the playing han$ shall not come within the playing surface nor shall exten$ beyon$ the imaginary lines of the arrow. b" 2he han$ may, however, cross the arrow. %0. a" :hile ma,ing a stro,e, ta,ing support of the (tool or hair, (tan$ or 2able of the &' an$&or ,eeping the legs on the rim of the stan$&table, by the player, is not permissible. b" 9owever, han$s may rest on his bo$y an$ legs may rest on the rim of the stool or chair, on which he sits. V. Toss %1. a" 2here shall be a toss by the +mpire at the commencement of each match. 2he toss shall be by spin of coin or by means of calling the &m. 2he either player&pair, winning the toss, shall have the choice of si$e or the option to stri,e first. If the winner $eci$es to have the choice of si$e, he shall communicate the same to the +mpire, who shall instruct the loser to sit first. b" In $oubles, the pair winning the toss shall have the option as above. c" If, however, brea, is chosen by the winner of the toss, the choice of si$e shall lie with the loser, an$ the winner shall have to sit first. $" 8nce the losers have sat $own, they cannot interchange. 2his or$er of sitting shall continue throughout the match. VI. Trial "oard )4. 2here shall be two trial boar$s only after the toss an$ before the start of the match, one for each player or pair. VII. "rea! )1. a" 'efore the brea,, the &m are so arrange$, in a flat position, that the 3ueen shall occupy the entre ircle an$ the rest of the &m are place$ aroun$ the 3ueen in the first row ,eeping the 'lac, an$ :hite &m alternately. In the secon$ row, three white &m will form the shape =>, with the white &m in the first row. 2he remaining space is fille$ up by placing blac, an$ white &m alternately. <ll c&m so arrange$ shoul$ be in compact roun$, touching each other, within the 8uter ircle. < player may use his fingers or stri,er to ,eep the &m intact. b" 2he &m shoul$ be arrange$ for the brea, with least possible loss of time after each boar$. )!. 'rea, is ta,en by a player, who has chosen to stri,e first. )%. 2he player who is to brea, shall have the white &m $uring that boar$ leaving the blac, &m to his opponent. 2he 3ueen shall be the common &m. )). 'rea, is consi$ere$ to have been ma$e, if the (tri,er touches any of the &m even slightly. )*. a" 'rea, is not consi$ere$ to have been ma$e if no &m is touche$ by the (tri,er in its usual run or jumping out. In that case, a maximum of two more chances shall be allowe$. b" If after permissible number of chances, no &m is touche$, the right to 'rea, shall be lost an$ the turn to play shall pass on to the opponent who shall have blac, &m for play but no re?arrangement of &m alrea$y arrange$, shall be permitte$. 2he above con$ition will prevail till the brea, is affecte$. c" If a player in his attempt to brea, plays an improper stro,e or poc,ets his stri,er without touching any of the c&m, he shall lose his turn. 9owever, $ue&penalty shall not be applicable. )-. 2he brea, shall be ta,en only after the +mpire calls #lay an$ the stro,e shall be ma$e within 1* secon$s of such call. 2he play shall be $eeme$ to have begun from the moment the +mpire calls #lay. ).. If the brea, is ma$e before the +mpire calls #lay, all his &m an$& or 3ueen poc,ete$ shall be ta,en out for placing an$ a foul $eclare$. 2he player shall lose his turn. VIII. Turn of Play )0. <s long as a player poc,ets his own &m an$&or 3ueen in accor$ance with the Laws, his turn shall continue. 8therwise it shall pass on to the opponent.

a" i" In the first game the player who chooses to brea, the first boar$ shall have the white &m. 2he turn to brea, shall pass alternately $uring the game. ii" In the secon$ game the player who $i$ not have the first turn to brea, shall have his turn first. iii" In the thir$ game, the turn to brea, passes on to the first player. b" In 5oubles, however, the turn passes on to the player sitting to the right han$ si$e of the player who ha$ his turn. *4. < player shall not ta,e more than 1* secon$s for ma,ing a stro,e from the moment the &m&3ueen&(tri,er has come to rest an$ the stri,er is pic,e$ up by the opponent an$&or after observing the time limit for placing the &m an$&or 3ueen an$&or foregoing $ue&penalty &m, if any. *1. If the turn is availe$ by a player who plays out of turn, before the +mpire coul$ control, he shall lose the boar$ by the number of &m an$ 3ueen as were on the &' at the time of ma,ing the first out of turn stro,e. If the above remains unnotice$ by the +mpire or opponent, till the next stro,e is ta,en, the turn shall be allowe$ an$ the next turn shall be as per the Laws. I#. ow to Score *!. a" 2he player who completes poc,eting all his &m first wins the boar$. b" 2he value&points are as follows: i" 3ueen : % points up to an$ inclu$ing !1 points. ii" &m : 1 point each. *%. a" 2he number of &m of the opponent on the &' shall be the points gaine$ by that player in that boar$. b" 2he player is entitle$ to be cre$ite$ with the value of the 3ueen, only if he wins the boar$. c" 2he player who loses the boar$ is not cre$ite$ with the value of the 3ueen, even if he has poc,ete$ an$ covere$ the 3ueen. *). 2he player loses the a$vantage of getting the cre$it of an a$$itional % points for covering the 3ueen, once he has reache$ the score of !! points. **. 2he maximum number of points that can be score$ in a boar$ is 1! only. <ny 5ue an$&or penalty &m shall automatically be written off. *-. a" < game shall be of !* points or eight boar$s. 2he player who reaches !* points first or lea$s at the conclusion of the eighth boar$ shall be the winner of the game. b" +p to an$ inclu$ing the pre?6uarter final roun$s, each game shall be $eci$e$ on the basis of eight boar$s. In case the score is e6ual at the en$ of the eighth boar$, an extra boar$ shall be playe$ to $eci$e the winner. 'efore the extra boar$, there shall be a toss to choose brea, only. *.. <ll matches shall be $eci$e$ only by the best of three games. #. $hange of Sides *0. In (ingles, the change of si$es by the players shall be ma$e in the opposite $irection at the conclusion of each game. *1. In 5oubles, the change of si$es by the players shall be ma$e to the next right han$ si$e, at the conclusion of each game. -4. a" In the thir$ game for matches up to an$ inclu$ing #re?6uarter finals, the change of si$es shall be ma$e after the fourth boar$ or after any player&pair has score$ l% points whichever is earlier. b" /rom 3uarter?/inals onwar$s the change of si$es shall be ma$e only after 1% points have been score$ by any player&pair. c" 2he change of si$es, remaining unnotice$ by the +mpire or any player, shall ta,e place as an$ when notice$, but after completion of that particular boar$. -1. 2he players shall not ta,e more than two minutes to change si$es. #I. %oul -!. In general, any act of violation of Laws or anything $one contrary to what is state$ specifically or implie$ @as un$erstoo$ commonly" in these Laws, shall be broa$ly classifie$ as: <. 2A 9;I <L /8+L B '. /8+L -%. &. TE$ NI$&' %O(' a" <ny act of violation of the Laws committe$ by the player before the first stro,e of his turn shall be $eeme$ as a 2echnical /oul. < 2echnical /oul shall entail one &m of the offen$ing player being brought out for placing by the opponent an$ his turn shall continue. b" <ny act of violation of the Laws committe$ by the player presently not having his turn shall also be $eeme$ as a 2echnical /oul. < penalty shall be impose$ as per 7ule -% @a". a" <ny act of violation of the Laws committe$ by the player $uring or after the first stro,e of his turn shall be $eeme$ as /oul. < /oul shall entail one &m of the offen$ing player being brought out for placing by the opponent an$ the turn to play shall be lost. b" :hile poc,eting the &m an$&or 3ueen, if a /oul is committe$, the number of &m an$&or 3ueen so poc,ete$ with an a$$itional &m shall be brought out for placing an$ the turn of the player shall be lost. #II. $)m O*er+oard -*. a" If a &m an$&or 3ueen jump out of the playing surface, the jumpe$ &m an$&or the 3ueen shall be place$ by the +mpire in the entre ircle, if space permits, covering it fully or the maximum portion of it that is available. b" If both the 3ueen an$ a c&m jump in the same stro,e preference shall be given to place the 3ueen first an$ the jumpe$ c&m shall be place$, touching the 3ueen, in the opposite $irection of the player presently having his turn. c" If both :hite an$ 'lac, c&m jump in the same stro,e, preference shall be given to place the c&m of the player who ma$e that stro,e first an$ the other c&m shall be place$, touching the first c&m in the manner $escribe$ in 7ule -*@b". $" If more than ! c&m jump in the same stro,e, the placing of the first ! c&m shall be in accor$ance with 7ule -*@b" an$ 7ule -*@c". 2he rest of the c&m shall be place$, touching the first ! c&m, as far as possible. --. a" If c&m an$&or 3ueen jump out an$ fall bac, on the playing surface, the c&m an$&or 3ueen shall be place$ by the +mpire in the entre ircle as per Laws. 2he position of the $isturbe$ c&m, if any, shall be correcte$ by the +mpire, as far as possible, at his $iscretion. b" If, however, c&m an$&or 3ueen jump out an$ fall bac, on the playing surface after hitting the sha$e, bulb or light fittings, it shall be consi$ere$ to have naturally travelle$. 5isturbe$ c&m, if any, shall not be rearrange$. #III. $)m ,olling and O*erlapping -.. If c&m an$&or 3ueen stan$s on its rim, it shall be allowe$ to remain as it is. -0. If two &m an$&or 3ueen overlap each other, they shall be left un$isturbe$. -1. a" If the (tri,er rests on c&m an$&or 3ueen, the (tri,er shall be remove$ without $isturbance to the &m an$&or 3ueen by the +mpire. If $isturbe$, the original position of the c&m an$&or 3ueen shall be restore$, as far as possible, by the +mpire. b" If this happens at the mouth of the poc,et an$ in the process of removal of the (tri,er the &m an$&or 3ueen lose its centre of gravity an$ fall into the poc,et, they shall be $eeme$ to have been poc,ete$. .4. a" If &m an$&or 3ueen rest on the stri,er, the (tri,er shall be remove$ by the +mpire by lifting the &m an$&or 3ueen an$ replacing them, as far as possible, in the original position where they woul$ rest if the (tri,er was not there. b" If, however, this happens at the mouth of the poc,et an$ in the process of removal of the c&m an$&or 3ueen, the (tri,er loses its centre of gravity an$ falls into the poc,et, it shall be $eeme$ to have been poc,ete$. < 5ue shall be $eclare$ to be impose$ as per the Laws. .1. If a &m resting perilously at the mouth of the poc,et an$ actually falls into the poc,et for any reason, it shall be consi$ere$ to have been properly poc,ete$. #IV. -ues and)or Penalties .!. a" If in a proper stro,e a player poc,ets his (tri,er alone, his turn shall be lost an$ one of his &m will be ta,en out as penalty by his opponent for placing. (uch penalty &m shall be calle$ 5ue. b" If in an improper sto,e a player poc,ets his (tri,er alone, his turn shall be lost an$ two of his &m will be ta,en out by his opponent for placing. (uch penalty &m shall be calle$ 5ue an$ foul. c" If this happens before any of his &m is poc,ete$ the penalty an$ 5ue shall remain outstan$ing an$ shall be ta,en out as soon as they are available. .%. If a player poc,ets the (tri,er with his own &m by a proper stro,e, the number of &m so poc,ete$, with a 5ue &m, shall be ta,en out for placing an$ the player shall continue his turn. .). If a player poc,ets the (tri,er with the &m of his opponent by a proper stro,e, the &m so poc,ete$ shall be $eeme$ to have been poc,ete$. 2he 5ue as per 7ule .!@a" shall be ta,en out for placing an$ the player shall lose his turn. .*. If a player poc,ets the (tri,er with &m of his own an$ of his opponent by a proper stro,e, the number of his own &m so poc,ete$, with a $ue &m shall be ta,en out for placing by the opponent an$ the player shall continue his turn. .-. If a player poc,ets the &m of his opponent by an improper stro,e, the &m so poc,ete$ shall be $eeme$ to have been poc,ete$. 2he #enalty &m shall be ta,en out for placing by the opponent an$ the player shall lose his turn.

a" If a player poc,ets his own &m by an improper stro,e, the &m so poc,ete$ with a #enalty &m shall be ta,en out for placing by the opponent an$ the player shall lose his turn. b" If a player poc,ets his own &m with the stri,er by an improper stro,e, the &m so poc,ete$ with two &m, one as 5ue an$ the other for #enalty shall be ta,en out for placing by the opponent an$ the player shall lose his turn. .0. a" 5ue or penalty &m shall be ta,en out for placing imme$iately after being available, but only after the completion of the stro,e, though it may be $uring the turn of the same player. b" i" In 5oubles the 5ue an$&or penalty &m shall always be ta,en out for placing by the player who is sitting on the right han$ si$e of the player having his turn at the time of availability of &m. ii" If, however, $uring the turn of a player, he poc,ets the &m of the opponent with or without his &m an$ the 5ue an$&or penalty &m becomes available, the player himself shall ta,e out the &m for placing. .1. a" If 5ue an$&or penalty &m is available for placing but sufficient space is not available, the player who has to place the &m shall be permitte$ to $o so imme$iately after space becomes available. b" In 5oubles, however, if the eligibility to place the 5ue an$&or penalty &m, has passe$ on to the partner, the partner alone shall have the right to ta,e out an$ place the &m. 04. If space is available for placing the 5ue an$&or penalty &m, but the player who has to place the &m $oes not $esire to ris, a /oul, he shall lose his chance to place an$ his claim for placing shall stan$ forfeite$. 01. If the space becomes available for placing the 5ue an$&or penalty &m, $uring the turn of the player, eligible to place, the placing shall be ma$e imme$iately. 0!. a" :hile placing the 5ue an$&or penalty &m, if a player places his own &m by mista,e, it has to be rectifie$ if pointe$ out by the umpire or the opponent. < /oul shall be $eclare$ as per the Laws. b" If not notice$ either by the +mpire or the opponent before the next stro,e is ma$e, the &m so place$ shall be regar$e$ as vali$. 0%. If more than one &m are to be place$ by a player as 5ue an$&or penalty, the &m available shall be place$ imme$iately an$ rest of the &m have to be place$ as soon as available. If on availability, rest of the &m is&are not place$ by the player concerne$ before the next stro,e is ma$e an$ the same remains unnotice$ by the opponent& +mpire the $ue shall be $eeme$ to have been forfeite$. 0). a" #lacing shall be consi$ere$ as complete once the finger is remove$ from the &m provi$e$ the &m place$ is insi$e the 8uter ircle. b" 9owever, while placing 5ue an$&or penalty &m hol$ing of any other &m an$&or stri,er is not permitte$. 0*. If a player places or moves the 5ue an$&or penalty &m away from the 8uter ircle, he shall he as,e$ to place the &m insi$e the 8uter ircle. < /oul shall be $eclare$ as per Laws. 0-. :hile placing the 5ue an$&or penalty &m the player shoul$ not move any other &m an$&or 3ueen. 2he &m so place$ shall not $isturb any other &m. If it so happens, the same shall be replace$ by the +mpire in the original position, as far as possible. < /oul shall be $eclare$ against the offen$ing player as per the Laws. 0.. a" < player may choose to forego the 5ue an$&or penalty &m in toto only an$ not partially. (uch $ecision shall be communicate$ to the +mpire within 1* secon$s, failing which the right to place the 5ue an$&or penalty &m shall be forfeite$. b" 2he a$$itional points on completion of the 'oar$ available on $eman$ may at the option of the beneficiary be $eman$e$ fully&partially. 00. a" 2he time limit for placing 5ue an$&or penalty &m shall be 1* secon$s after the announcement ma$e by the +mpire. b" If the placing of all the $ue an$&or penalty &m is not complete$ within the stipulate$ perio$, the &m alrea$y place$ may be or$ere$ to be remove$ an$ a foul $eclare$ against the offen$er. 01. a" 5ue an$&or penalty &m cannot be set off against each other. b" 5ue an$&or penalty &m shall not be place$ covering the entre ircle wholly or partially. If place$, the player shall be as,e$ to rectify. < /oul shall be $eclare$ against the offen$ing player as per the Laws. 14. In 5oubles, a player shall not ta,e out the penalty an$&or 5ue &m for his partner, who has to place it. In case his partner $oes not fin$ the re6uire$ &m in the poc,ets a$joining his si$e, he shall re6uest the +mpire to provi$e, specifying the colour an$ number of &m he nee$s for placing. 11. 5uring the course of the 'oar$, if a player gets up from the seat $uring his turn or of his opponents turn, for any reason, he shall lose the 'oar$ with the number of his &m an$&or 3ueen lying on the 'oar$. If the score of the opponent is !! or more he shall lose the 'oar$ by the number of &m only. #V. .ueen 1!. < player has the right to poc,et the 3ueen an$ to cover it provi$e$ a c&m of his own has alrea$y been poc,ete$. !1 !! 11 !4

2he 3ueen shall be place$ by the +mpire only in the entre ircle. :hile placing so, however, if a shot is automatically forme$, it cannot be altere$. 1). If the entre ircle is partially or completely covere$ by other &m, the 3ueen shall be place$ so as to occupy most of the uncovere$ portion or in any position a$jacent to the entre ircle in such a way so that it is not easy to poc,et for the player having his turn. 2he placing of the 3ueen by the +mpire, in such a situation, shall be final. 1*. a" If the 3ueen is poc,ete$ before any &m of the player is poc,ete$, the 3ueen shall be ta,en out for placing an$ the player shall lose his turn. b" If a player poc,ets the 3ueen, while there is a 5ue against him, the 3ueen shall be ta,en out for placing an$ the player shall lose his turn. c" 9owever, if after recovery of 5ue an$&or penalty, all the nine &m are on the &', a player shall have the right to poc,et the 3ueen an$ to cover it. $" If, at the brea, or in a subse6uent stro,e when all his nine &m are on the &', the 3ueen is poc,ete$ along with the (tri,er, the 3ueen shall be ta,en out for placing an$ a 5ue shall be $eclare$. 2he player shall lose his turn. 1-. If the 3ueen is poc,ete$ by a stro,e an$ is not covere$, the 3ueen shall be ta,en out for placing. If not notice$ by the +mpire or by the opponent, before the next stro,e is ma$e, the 3ueen shall be recor$e$ as properly covere$. 1.. a" If the 3ueen an$ the &m of a player are poc,ete$ together in one stro,e, the 3ueen shall be consi$ere$ covere$. b" 9owever, at the 'rea, an$&or in any subse6uent stro,e, when all nine &m of the player are on the &', if the 3ueen an$ one of the &m are poc,ete$ together, the 3ueen has to be covere$. If utilise$, he shall be as,e$ by the +mpire to rectify. < /oul shall be $eclare$ as per the Laws. #VI. /eneral 11*. < stro,e shall be ta,en by means of a (tri,er only. 2he (tri,er shall be brought by the player an$ certifie$ by the hief 7eferee&+mpire before play. 11-. :hile ta,ing a stro,e, if the (tri,er jumps over the &', the turn of the player shall continue if he poc,ets his own &m an$&or 3ueen in that stro,e. 11.. < change$ new (tri,er, $uly approve$ by the hief 7eferee& +mpire, shall be allowe$ in a match, after the particular 'oar$ is complete$. 9owever, if in the mi$$le of the boar$, the (tri,er is $amage$, it is permitte$ to change the same only after completion of that particular stro,e. 110. a" 8nce set, the position of the &' shall not be change$ in the mi$$le of the match. b" 9owever, the sole authority to ma,e any change after examination, on an appeal by any player, lies with the +mpire. 111. 2he &', stan$ or table on which the &' is place$, allotte$ for a match can be change$ only after the completion of the 'oar$. 2he sole authority for $eci$ing the con$ition of the &', stan$ or table rests with the +mpire. 1!4. <ny $amage$ &m, if appeale$ for replacement, shall be replace$ by the +mpire in the original position of the $amage$ &m as far as possible. 1!1. a" 2he time count stops when there is an appeal to the +mpire by a player, $uring the play. 2he play shall not continue unless the +mpire has or$ere$ #lay. b" 2he player who violates this, shall lose the entire boar$ with the number of his &m lying on the &' with the points of the 3ueen, as per Laws, if it is lying on the &'. 1!!. a" 2he pow$er shall be applie$ evenly, by the player having the turn, over the playing surface before brea,. 2he use of pow$er shall be neither excessive nor scanty. b" i" 2he pow$er shall not be applie$ or remove$ after the +mpire has announce$ #lay. ii" <ny wilful attempt to remove or wipe pow$er from the playing surface shall not be permitte$. iii" 2he removal of pow$er from the playing surface by way of blowing, wiping or any other way shall not be permitte$. /or any infringement, as state$ above in 1!!@b" @i", @ii" B @iii" a /oul shall be $eclare$ against the offen$ing player as per the Laws. c" 9owever, excess pow$er, if any, along the 'ase Lines an$ 'ase ircles of his si$e, may be remove$, by a player $uring his turn of play with the help of the (tri,er only. $" 2he +mpire shall have the right to control the even application of pow$er on the playing surface. !1 %4 !. !0 e" 2he +mpire shoul$ be re6ueste$ for removal of $ust, insects, etc., from the &' $uring the course of play. 1!%. < stro,e is consi$ere$ complete$ only after the (tri,er, &m an$&or 3ueen $isturbe$ by the (tri,er comes to rest. 2he (tri,er shall be remove$ by the player from the &' imme$iately after the stro,e is complete$. 2he +mpire may assist on re6uest. 1!). a" <s long as a player poc,ets his own &m an$&or 3ueen, the time count starts as soon as the stro,e is complete$. b" 9owever, in a stro,e, when a player fails to poc,et his &m an$&or 3ueen, the time count for the opponent shall start only after the (tri,er has been remove$ from the &'. c" < player shall not ma,e the stro,e before the opponent pic,s up his (tri,er from the &'. 1!*. a" :hen a player poc,ets the &m of his opponent ,nowingly or un,nowingly, the +mpire shall stop the player from playing further. b" If unnotice$ by the +mpire or by the opponent, the &m poc,ete$ shall be consi$ere$ to have been properly poc,ete$. 2he turn of the player shall be lost as an$ when notice$. 1!-. a" 2he player shall not hit, tap or $isturb the &' wilfully or otherwise. If $one, a /oul shall be $eclare$ against the offen$ing player, as per the Laws. b" 9owever, if it is $one by the player&s in such a way that rearrangement of the &m becomes impossible, he shall lose the entire 'oar$ with the number of &m lying on the &' with the points for the 3ueen as per the Laws. 1!.. a" < stro,e shall be consi$ere$ to have been ma$e, if the (tri,er slips, leaving any 'ase Line or 'ase ircle, irrespective of whether it has touche$ any &m or not. b" 9owever, if the (tri,er slips an$ $oes not leave any 'ase Line or 'ase ircle or moves any &m, stro,e shall not be consi$ere$ to have been ma$e. 1!0. < player may fin$ out the score from the +mpire only $uring his turn of play.

1!1. < player shall not $istract the attention of the opponent by any act. 1%4. a" :hile ta,ing a stro,e, the (tri,er must touch both the 'ase Lines. b" If the (tro,e is ma$e from the 'ase ircle, the (tri,er must cover the 'ase ircle fully but shall not touch the arrow. 1%1. If touche$, move$ or $isturbe$ the same shall be replace$ in the original position by the +mpire, as far as possible an$ a /oul shall be $eclare$ against the offen$ing player as per the Laws. 1%*. 2he run of the (tri,er shall not be teste$ on the playing surface $uring the course of a 'oar$. 1%-. a" 2he player shall not ,eep his (tri,er on the frame or in the poc,et of the &' $uring the 'oar$. b" 9owever, the player shall be permitte$ to place the (tri,er an$& or &m on the playing surface of the &', near his base lines only, while placing the 5ue an$&or penalty &m. 1%.. If the players pass over their turn consecutively for % times each, that particular 'oar$ shall be cancelle$ an$ be replaye$. 1%0. 2here shall be an interval of 14 minutes in between the secon$ an$ thir$ games. 1%1. < player is permitte$ to conce$e a game an$&or match at any stage. 1)4. Protest 1)). <II protests shall be written in Anglish a$$resse$ to the (ecretary of the tournament an$ shall be submitte$ through the hief 7eferee& +mpire $uly signe$ by the player& aptain or the Canager of the team. 1)*. 2he oral protest shall be intimate$ to the +mpire imme$iately after the inci$ent ta,es place along with the prescribe$ scrutiny fee. ;o protest shall be entertaine$ without payment of scrutiny fee. 1)-. 2he written protest shall be submitte$ within 1* minutes of completion of that particular 'oar$. 1).. 2he protest shall represent facts only, as ha$ occurre$, the $ecision of the hief 7eferee&+mpire an$ the point appeale$ against by the aggrieve$ party. 1)0. #rotest in uncouth an$ abusive language shall be summarily rejecte$ an$ invite $isciplinary action. 1)1. 8nce a protest is lo$ge$, it shall not be permitte$ to be with$rawn. 1*4. 8nce a protest is recor$e$ an$ han$e$ over, the play shall continue from where it stoppe$. 2he result of the match shall not be announce$ till the protest is consi$ere$. 1*1. a" If the protest is uphel$, the match shall continue from the beginning of that particular boar$ in which the protest was lo$ge$ an$ the scrutiny fee refun$e$. b" In case the protest is overrule$, the result alrea$y obtaine$ shall stan$ an$ the scrutiny fee forfeite$. c" 2he $ecision of the hampionship&2ournament authorities shoul$ be conveye$ to the parties concerne$ within one hour from the time the protest was lo$ge$.
