Alternator Problems

1. A 3-phase, 16-pole alternator has a winding with 144 slots and 10 conductors per slot. The frequency is calculated to be 50 Hz and the phase and line voltages are 15.34 V and 2658 V respectively. 2. A 3-phase, 6-pole alternator with 0.1 Wb flux per pole running at 1000 rpm with a double layer winding in 84 slots calculates to a no-load phase voltage of 3125 V. 3. A 4-pole alternator with 10 conductors per slot and series connected windings calculates to an EMF of 750 V if lap wound, compared to 2160 V for star winding.
