Dear Parents,

KEY MESSAGE OF THE WEEK!

Please can all sports team kits, home reading and library books be returned to school this week as it will
help us consider and audit the condition of our stock over the summer break. This will be the years final
newsletter and I would like to take this chance wish you all a wonderful summer break. School closes on
Wednesday 23
rd
July at 1.15pm and will re-open Monday 8
th
September. All term dates are on our
website.
SCHOOL UNIFORM NEW SCHOOL RUCKSACKS - 10.99
Following parental interest, you will now find that back packs are now available at our uniform outfitters. These are a
preferred size for our cloakrooms. Children often bring expensive and oversized bags to school which can cause
problems as they do not fit and can unavoidably get damaged. These rucksacks would be a preferred option by the
school in the future as they appear durable, well designed and are very smart! (Please see the slip attached) This slip
needs to be returned with payment by Monday 21
st
. If popular these bags may only be in stock ready for September
to give to you.
All school uniform is now available from Bamber Bridge Sports at Bamber Bridge Football Club. The shop is open
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11am-5pm, alternatively if you want to order through school please see the attached
order form. This will need to be completed and handed into the school office with full payment by Friday 11th. This
will then be dropped off at school for you to collect. The shop will close for 2 weeks from 28
th
July with extended
opening hours in August.
FREE INFANT MEALS
As you may be aware, this government has put plans in place to serve free dinners to infants next September
onwards. There is a huge amount of refurbishment work to be carried out this summer break to the school in general,
including a new kitchen which is to be built in the infant block. Lancashire Catering Services have much to do to
ensure that this is to go ahead on schedule. I am anticipating that all our parents will make the most of this
opportunity and we shall be serving 180 dinners each day to our youngest children. Please do not hesitate to direct
questions to me if you have any. If you are not intending to take up on these free meals, it would help the school plan
ahead if you could inform us.
YOU ARE NEEDED!
I would really like to start encouraging mums and dads (and grandparents) to help us out next year with our Parents &
Friends Events. Your ideas and help are tremendously valued and I would love to start the year with a really positive
energetic beginning. Could you please consider coming along as your time and contribution would be appreciated.
Y5 DRESS UP DAY BRITAIN SINCE THE 1930S
Children in Year 5 are having a dress up day in clothes appropriate for their topic Britain since the 1930s on

next week. Year 5 parents are invited to a celebration assembly at 9.30am where the children will
perform their Dance through the Decades.
LIBRARY BOOKS/HOME READING BOOKS
Please could you help us by returning all library books in order that we can look at their condition and audit our stock.
Mrs Galland is keen to have our library up and running for all children at the start of next term. May I also ask that all

home readers are returned to their correct box for the summer break. Children should return all books before the last
week of term. Many thanks indeed!
CAMP NIGHT
Many apologies for the weather last weekend and the disappointing news about our Camp Night! It really would have
been an unpleasant evening with the weather that we experienced! I would like to suggest an alternative camping
night in late September when we return if the weather will be kind. All previous information will remain the same.
Very often we have wonderful weather in September, so fingers crossed! All previous bookings are still held,
unfortunately we can take no further bookings. Members of Year 6 that were hoping to camp will still be most
welcome!
PARENTAL SPORTS CLUB VOLUNTEERS
Parents volunteering for sports coaching next year are required to come and collect a form to complete to ensure that
all children are safeguarded at all times. Please feel free to ask at the office if you are interested in this opportunity!
WELL DONE!
Well done to Holly from Jaguar class who completed an impressive 1 mile swim last week! Congratulations!
LOSTOCK HALL ENTERPRISE FAYRE EVENT YEAR 5 CHILDREN AND BAND MEMBERS
The Year 5 children and remaining band members that are not visiting Cuerden Valley Park on Friday have been
invited to Lostock Hall on the 18

July to join in with their Enterprise Fayre. Children from Year 5 are invited each year
and enjoy this event with our link school. There will be activities, events, ice-cream vans and performers in action.
Children have been asked to bring 3-5 and a packed lunch.
RETURNING SCHOOL TEAM SPORTS KITS STILL MISSING
Following the rugby, cricket and football tournaments, I would like to kindly request that all school kits (socks,
shorts and jerseys) be returned as soon as possible so that we can use them for other forthcoming events in the
