Electric Circuits Theory 1: These Lecture Slides Have Been Compiled by Mohammed Salahuddin Ayubi

This document is a set of lecture slides on energy storage elements like capacitors and inductors. It covers the basics of how capacitors and inductors work, including their properties and equations. It also discusses how capacitors and inductors behave differently at low frequencies (static analysis) and high frequencies (dynamic analysis) due to their ability to store energy over time. The slides are presented by Engineer M.S. Ayubi and include diagrams to illustrate the concepts.

Frequency Effects
• Low frequency (f ⇒ 0, t ⇒ ∞)

• I=C dv/dt, so I=0 (open)
– Inductor
• V = L di/dt, so V=0 (short)
• High frequency (f ⇒ ∞, t ⇒ 0)
– Capacitor
• I=C dv/dt, but I ≠ ∞, so V cannot change instantly
– Inductor
• V = L di/dt, but V ≠ ∞, so I cannot change instantly
