Advocacy Meeting Report
The programme has been started at 2.pm with the silent prayer .After that
Mrs.Bobby Sabu ,Project Co-ordinator of KNP+Vihaan CSC delivered welcome
speech.She introduced all chief guests one by one Koothali Grama Panchayath
President,Panchayath Secretary ,Mr.Sadique Kottakkal-DAPCU ,Sub Judge of
DALSA,KNP+Vihaan Project Director who gathered for the programme.
Mr.Mathew K.C ,Project Director of KNP+ Vihaan CSC presided over the
meeting and had introduction about organization .
Inauguration :
Mrs. Karthyayani President of Koothali Grama Panchayath inaugurated
advocacy meeting and delivered small speech regarding PLHIV and she shared
information ;each individual has duty to give strength and support to PLHIV ,it will
helpful for them.And also help them to lead quality of life .She promised that you
can expect any help from Koothali Grama Panchayath .She also promised that a
project proposal should submit for the welfare of PLHIV and their families
during the next budget for the Koothali Grama Panchayath.

.All guests wish all the success to our advocacy meeeting .
Keynote address :
Mr.Sadique Kottakkal ,DAPCU over the keynote address .He focused the
topic on HIV/AIDS awareness ,stigma and discrimination .He asked many
questions about HIV/AIDS to check knowledge about HIV/AIDS .
Following issues were discussed :-
Have HIV positive in kozhikode ?
How many positives in Kozhikode?
Causes of transmission
Ways of transmission
Nutritional food ,immunity power,...etc.
There are many people affected by HIV/AIDS in Kerala .He shared
services of KSACS in Kozhikode .It includes ICTC ,ART (Ushus),Pulari
,Sneha and Vihaan CSC .
He explained that , one children diagnosed positive out of 56 .Main
problem faced by children are stigma and discrimination from the school
and from public, and he also shared a story about ordinary women and sex
work women in paradise .He shared services provided for PLHIV and most
of people mistaken about HIV .
He explained what are the ways of transmission .HIV is transmitted
only through unprotected sex ,blood transferance ,unprotected needles
,mother to child .He cleared all doubts of participants about HIV/AIDS .
Then Mr.Mathew K.C .invited Advocate Mrs .Sheela to provide legal
services for PLHIV .She explained legal services for PLHIV and CLHIV
.PLHIV need legal aid services in case of property ,divorce,family problems
,discrimination ,...etc. She also added each PLHIV have equal rights in the
society .No one has the right to hurt PLHIV and also keep confidentiality .
Then ,KNP+ Vihaan CSC member Mukundan shared his life
experience who is HIV positive and also taking second line treatment .
Mrs .Shari K.P ,Counsellor of KNP+ Vihaan CSC delivered vote of
thanks to Mrs.Karthyayani for inuagurating the session , Mr.Sadique
Kottakkal for Keynote address,Mrs .Karthyayani Health Department , all
other chief guests and participants of Kudumbasree, CDS Members ,Clubs
and all participants attended for the advocacy meeting .
Out come :- Project proposal should submit for the welfare of PLHIV and their
families during the next budget .
