The Call to Worship
~ based on Psalm 84 ~
Leader: Show us Your steadfast love, O
God, and grant us Your salvation.
Unison: How lovely is Your dwelling
place, O Lord Almighty! Our souls
long, yes, faint for the courts of the
Lord. Our hearts and our flesh will sing
for joy to the living God, for a single
day in Your courts is better than a
thousand anywhere else.
Leader: For the Lord God is our Light
and our Shield; the Lord bestows favour
and honour. No good thing does He
wi t hhol d from t hose who wal k
uprightly.
Unison: O Lord Almighty, blessed are
those who trust in You!

Give thanks to the Lord

And outstretched arm

Forever God is with us
Forever and ever, forever (2X)

By the grace of God we will carry on
His love endures forever
Sing praise, sing praise
Sing praise, sing praise
(repeat chorus)
His Name is Jesus
All hail the power of Jesus name
Let angels prostrate fall
Bring forth the royal diadem
And crown Him Lord of all
Bring forth the royal diadem
And crown Him Lord of all
Ye chosen seed of Israels race
Ye ransomed from the fall
Hail Him who saves you by His grace
And crown Him Lord of all
Hail Him who saves you by His grace
And crown Him Lord of all
chorus
His name is Jesus
Risen Lamb, for sinners slain
His name is Jesus
All creation sings the praise
Of Jesus name
Let every kindred, every tribe
On this terrestrial ball
To Him all majesty ascribe
And crown Him Lord of all
To Him all majesty ascribe
And crown Him Lord of all
(repeat chorus)
O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall
Well join the everlasting song
And crown Him Lord of all
Well join the everlasting song
And crown Him Lord of all
Call to Repentance & Renewal
~ based on Psalm 32 (NLT) ~
Leader: Listen to the testimony of the
psalmist:
When I refused to confess my sin, my
body wasted away, and I groaned all day
long. Day and night Your hand of
discipline was heavy on me. My strength
evaporated like water in the summer
heat. Finally, I confessed all my sins to
You and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, I will confess my
rebellion to the Lord. And You forgave
me! All my guilt is gone.
Prayer of Confession
~ Silent Confession and Reflection ~
The Words of The Gospel
~ based on Psalm 145:14; 1 John 1:8-9 ~
Leader: Hear the Good News: The Lord
upholds all who are falling, and raises up
all who are bowed down. If we say we
have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. If we confess our
sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Hearing these comforting words, if you
sincerely turn from your sins by turning
in trust to the Lord Jesus Christ who
came to save sinners, I declare to you in
the Name of Jesus Christ that you are
indeed forgiven!
Song of Response
Jesus Is the Name Above All Names
Great Creator
Of the heavens and the earth
You know every star by name
Awesome power
Is revealed in all Your works
And forever You will reign
Righteous Sovereign
Over history and time
Wholly God yet fully man
What a mystery
That You left Your throne on high
To return with nail-scarred hands
And one day every knee
Will humbly bow
And every tongue confess aloud that
chorus
Jesus is the name above all names
He is worthy of all praise
Jesus is the name above all names
King of kings for endless days
Perfect wisdom in the mercy of the Cross
Still Ill never understand
Why a rebel so unworthy of such cost
Would be ransomed by Your hand
(repeat chorus)
The Prayers of the People
for the Church and City
Leader: Let us pray.
Unison: Our Father in Heaven, hallow-
ed be your name. Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done, on earth as it is in
heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our debts as we also have
forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the
glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Songs for Communion
Behold the Lamb
Behold the Lamb
Who bears our sins away
Slain for us, and we remember
The promise made that all
Who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
The body of our Saviour, Jesus Christ
Torn for you: eat and remember
The wounds that heal
The death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love
Around the table of the king
The blood that cleanses every stain of sin
Shed for you: drink and remember
He drank deaths cup that all may enter in
To receive the life of God
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace
Around the table of the king
And so with thankfulness
And faith we rise to respond
And to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim: Christ will come again!
And well join in the feast of heaven
Around the table of the King
Jesus Messiah
He became sin who knew no sin
That we might become
His Righteousness
He humbled himself
And carried the cross
Love so amazing
Love so amazing
chorus:
Jesus Messiah
Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners
The ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all
His body the bread
His blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled
And the veil was torn
Love so amazing
Love so amazing
(repeat chorus)
All our hope is in You
All our hope is in You
All the glory to You, God
The light of the world
(repeat chorus)

O The Wonderful Cross
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride
See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
chorus
O the wonderful cross
O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die
And find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross
O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near
and bless Your name
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all
(repeat chorus)
Our Confession of Faith
~ Heidelberg Catechism #1 ~
Leader: Christian, what is your only
comfort in life and in death?
Unison: That I belongbody and soul,
in life and in deathnot to myself but
to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ, who
at the cost of His own blood has fully
paid for all my sins and has completely
freed me from the dominion of the
devil
that He protects me so well that with-
out the will of my Father in heaven, not
a hair can fall from my head; indeed,
that everything must fit His purpose for
my salvation.
Therefore, by His Holy Spirit, he also
assures me of eternal life, and makes me
wholeheartedly willing and ready from
now on to live for Him!
The Benediction
~ Romans 15:13 ~
Leader: May the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace in believing, so
that by the power of the Holy Spirit you
may abound in hope.
Unison: Amen!

Preaching Schedule
Today, NCC welcomes our friend, Bryan Clarke. Bryan is one of our partners in
ministry who serves with GraceFinder at the University of Alberta. As many of you
know, several years ago, Bryan and Lisa lost their teenage daughter in a terrible
accident. Bryan will be preaching on Blessed Mourning? during the service, and
will be presenting his ministry with GraceFinder during the Potluck Lunch.
Jojo Ruba of Faith Beyond Belief will be preaching on August 17th. The mission of
FBB is to equip Canadians to think seriously about the claims of Christ and to train
Christians to give reasons for the hope they have with gentleness and respect.
Potluck Sunday: TODAY!
On the first Sunday of every month, we celebrate a meal together after the service.
These are intentional times of meeting new friends and catching up with old friend.
We want to be intentional in seeking to build relationships and our monthly potluck
luncheons are a perfect opportunity to do so. Please bring food for yourself/your
family plus extra to share with our guests.
