Thriller Opening Sequence
INT. APARTMENT. DAY
ANDREW closes the door, and then leans up against it, sighing with relief. He then locks it behind him, checking it is secure, then walks to his kitchen.
INT. KITCHEN. DAY
ANDREW looks at the cards on his table from other people, wishing him a Good Luck, starting his own life. He picks one up and reads it again. He then puts it down again, breathing out slowly, trying to be calm. ANDREW I do hope this works. Talking to no-one. A more unsettled atmosphere draws in. ANDREW (Unsettled) Completely alone. The atmosphere lightens to what it was. ANDREW Nah. Pff. Ill be fine. He then proceeds to take off his jacket, boil the kettle, put a teabag in a mug, then stirring a completed cup of tea.
INT. LOUNGE. DAY
The pace then slows down when he manoeuvres some cardboard boxes to sit down calmly and drink his tea. The sound of him drinking the tea is amplified at this point, making the tea seem important. This continues to build a strange atmosphere that is then disturbed and lightened by the postman posting some letters. ANDREW gets up and walks towards the door.
INT. FRONT DOOR. DAY
ANDREW picks up the post, leaning down, with his stomach suddenly making a rumbling noise. He gets up again, checking again that the door is locked, and putting the post on the table.

INT. LOUNGE. DAY
He then sits down again, this time, more slowly. He starts to feel cold slightly, feeling a shiver on the back of his neck. He turns around to see nothing there, feeling a little more reassured. ANDREW then turns on the TV, getting more comfortable amongst the boxes in his apartment. He sits there in the same position. FADE.
INT. LOUNGE. NIGHT
At this point, he has sat in the same position for a while now, falling asleep with the TV still on, which then inexplicably turns off, leaving ANDREW in darkness. This sudden change wakes ANDREW up, who is now looking a little unwell. He looks at the clock, showing a later time. ANDREW gets up and slowly and steadily walks to his bedroom.
INT. BEDROOM. NIGHT
ANDREW goes to bed. FADE TO BLACK.
INT. BEDROOM. LATER IN THE NIGHT
Some time has passed. Suddenly, a bang. Possibly a door slamming. ANDREW awakens. He is sweating and looks considerable more ill than before. He slowly rises from the bed and stands up, wobbling around in a dizzy fashion. Another bang occurs. The atmosphere becomes more tense. ANDREW (Shouting) Hello? ANDREW (Quietly) Hello? He slowly tries to walk forwards, stumbling along the way. A dizzy movement, walking like a drunkard, opening the door into darkness.
3.
INT. HALL. NIGHT
ANDREW makes his way out into the hallway. Another bang occurs and ANDREW begins hyperventilating. A very loud, fast breathing pattern that is noticeable to the audience. He then reaches out into the darkness with his hands... Suddenly, the image and outline of a dark body appears and flashes in and out of existence getting closer and closer to ANDREW. He stumbles backwards in fear. He begins to see things being zoomed in, in different colours and in double vision, with flashes with every breath. An intense effect being forced upon ANDREW as his unbalanced nature continues. ANDREW (Trying but failing to shout) Hello?! Stop...stop...it... Dont......hello... He then stumbles once more and falls forwards slowly to the ground and is unconscious. FADE TO BLACK.
