English Language Carnival 2015 Officiating Speech
English Language Carnival 2015 Officiating Speech
language. I wish that after this carnival, participants will continue to improve their
English with their friends back in school.
In learning English, English language media including books, newspapers, movies
and television are offered and accessible by most people. In order to become a proficient
speaker, students should take advantage of these mediums, not just to improve their
language but also to add more knowledge especially of latest issues. Ladies and
gentlemen, we have moved past the time where English was just a subject taught in
school for the examination purpose. This is no longer true for students of this generation
where English has greater demands both in school and their future workplace. Hence, it is
important to promote as much use and practice of English as possible to make competent
speakers among our students to prepare them for the challenging future.
To all the participants, it is indeed your responsibility as a student to make sure
that your English language learning goes beyond your school books and homework. It
should be a lifelong process. The opportunities are there for you, so make sure to not take
it for granted.
Before I conclude, I once again would like to congratulate and thank the
organisers for inviting me as well as ensuring this event a success. On this final note, I
would also like to congratulate all teachers and participants who have put their hearts and
soul in the competitions held.
I hereby officiate the closing of the 2015 Kulaijaya District English Language Carnival.
Thank you.
