Dear Eaglesfans,

Enclosed are the student thank you notes from Mr. Salley's project "We're Ready
To Rock... Just As Soon As We Get Instruments!." We hope they illustrate the
impact of your generous gift. The students would love to hear what you thought, so
please consider leaving them a message on their project page, where you can also

view photos and the teacher letter: www,donotu.hoott. otg/ptoj..t/ 1 4

Your kindness has made a difference in the lives of these students, and that surely
means more than any thanks we could ever offer. But nevertheless: thank you.

Dear Eaglesfans
Thank you for the generous donation of the guitars. The guitars have been
put to good use for our music class. Mr. Salley has taught us to play a few
cords as well as a few songs. Guitar is very fun to play but difficult and
different from other instruments. Having these guitars benefits you guys

and our school. One day maybe you all could come to our school so we
could thank you in person and maybe play a few songs for you. Learning to
play the guitars that were donated by you all has made me consider buying
my own guitar to improve my skills. I had always wanted to play guitar has
a kid but never had anyone to teach me to play. Donating guitars to schools
who need them benefit more than you know. These guitars can be used for
years on years and be put to good use for the upcoming kids interested in
taking the nrusic class" Hopefully in the future more guitars can be sent
once the old ones have been worn down or just send more so every kid in
the class could have their own personal guitar. Once again Thank you for
donating the guitars.

Dear Eaglesfans
Thank you for sending us the guitar so that Mr Sally could teach how to play
because if it wasn't for him we wouldn't know how to play a string or anything
and one day I wish you all could our class and come and show how to play a song
or something so that one day we could go up to our parents a teach them how to
play and then another thing we could start our own band and do our own concert

and make the kids that we play for proud our music and someday the kids that we
taught how to play guitar might just come up with their own idea and teach some
other kid s howto playand another MrSally is a hard workingteacher he puts in
all he's time to teach us how to play music because if it wasn't for him we would
know how to play a single thing of and sometimes in class he teaches us how to
play certain songs like he's got the whole world in his hand or we would PQV eint<
Floyd but anyways thank y'all so much for everything to you from me.

Dear Eaglesfans,
I

would like to thank you for supporting my school and my class. Thanks to you we were able to

afford to get guitars for my music class. Everyone in the class is highly interested in guitar and
learning the instrument. I have always been interested in learning guitar myself, and actually
have been self-teaching myself. Now I will have an actual teacher to help me as well as the

support of my class mates. We in fact have already been using them. We have learned a little,
and still have a ways to go, but guitar isn't something you should rush. Everyone has enjoyed

them and is very eager to learn more. Maybe one day l'll be able to play the way I have always
dreamed of playing. At least now it is possible for my school and my class to learn guitar. For

that I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Guitar can be life changing for some. lt can help
them in serval ways I know it has helped me dramatically. lt allows me to focus on my feelings
and imply them to guitar. Again I thank you very very much.
Sincerely Zachary

Dear Eaglesfan,

would like to thank you for giving us the guitars. They have made a great impact on

us.

Mr. Salley has taught us so much since we have had them, we have learned chords and played songs.
The guitars are really nice and they make me want

to keep playing guitar even though l'm not the kind

of guyto playguitar. But since we have had them, they make me feeldifferent and theyget me loving
music more than lalready do and allthat is because you gave us those guitars. Although have they

helped me they have also helped other fellow students. Most students that do go to this school do not
like guitar although you guys gave us these guitars and have got a lot of people into playing guitar and
by far means I have not ever wanted

to play guitar but now it seems like that has changed. Mr. Salley

has taught us a lot of stuff and I have learned a lot that I thought I could never learn. Now I can almost

pliy guitar on my own. But not quite right now though but thank you for giving us these guitar.

Dear Eaglesfans,
Thank you so much for your generosity in supplying my music class with guitars. I

myself enjoyed learning to play many different songs on them, and I know my fellow classmates
did also. It was incredibly kind of you to think of high school students who could have possibly
wanted to learn more about the fantastic instrument, and how to play it. At first, I thought there
was no way

I could learn how to play the guitar, but as time passed I began to really enjoy

myself. it was indeed a challenge, but half of the reason why it was, wasn't even because the
guitar is a difficult instrument to play. You see, I have this friend who sits beside me, his name is
Tanner and he is always causing all these diversions in class. Don't get me wrong, Tanner is a
great friend to me and he is always able to make me laugh, in fact there were a couple

of

instances where he actually helped me in learning to play the guitar; he's just very energetic and

sometimes becomes too much for NIr. Salley to handle. Nevertheless, I've come to love hearing
someone play the guitar and even playing

it myself. It has no doubt become my favorite

instrument and I am eternally grateful for your contribution to my music class.

Sincerely yours, Alexis

Dear Eaglesfans,

would like to thank you for donating the guitars to my general music class. My brother
plays guitar and bass, so he is always hounding me about playing. He has tried many times to get me to
learn, but l'm just too impatient. Now that I actually have the time to take as a class to learn I enjoy it.
Some days ltalk too much and we have to put the guitars up because they are our class's favorite thing
to do, so playing the guitars is seen as a privilege. I have learned about five songs and about five to eight
chords. My favorite song was "He's got the whole world in his hands". We are about to start playing the
guitar more intensely. I hope I can manage myseif enough to keep calm while we play because I really
enjoy learning. I like how we start out learning as the class and then he lets us get into Sroups to help
our fellow classmates. I have really liked watching my classmates grow as guitar players. I would again
like to thank you all for donating the guitars to my class.
l, Tanner,

Yours Truly,

Tanner

Dear Eaglesfans,

want to thank you all so much for the multiple guitars that you all have supplied for us. We
have learned a few chords: C minor, E, G, and a few others. We haven't played them much because of
my friend Tanner, who also wrote you all a letter. He talks too much and he is impatient, but he is a
great friend. He shares his snacks with us, while we try to learn to play the guitar. My friend Zach, who
also wrote to you all, has helped me whilst trying to learn how to play the guitar. Our teacher has been
teaching us, but Zach helps me learn it easier. l-1e really helped me learn "He's Got the Whole World in
His Hands". We also learned "Water Come a Me Eye". I really want to learn the guitar solo from the song
"Buddy Holley" by Weezer. I think that guitar solo is one of the best short solos that I have ever heard.
So I want to thank you all one more time for the opportunity that you have given me and my fellow
I

classmates. We have really wanting to play the guitar'

Sincerely,
Johnny

Dear Eagles fans, thank you for all of the wonderful guitars that you have helped us get, they have
helped many young adults learn chords and a couple of songs. We have leaned the a , c, and d chords.
We have talked about rock, blues , and country music. We have also talked about the Beach boys , Eric
Clapton , and Pink Floyd. Hopefully soon we can talk about Steve Ray Vaughn , Randy Rhodes , and a

country singer named Keith Urban. I took this class too learn a little more on guitar than I already know,
I have been playing guitarfor almost seven years. I can play anything from Nickel back to Keith Urban <l
know a few things from Metallica , Guns and roses , and some dubstep.

Dear Eaglesfans,

We at Creek Wood are very grateful for your substantial donations. So far

we have learned 7 chords and will be learning more soon. By the end of the year
my personal goal is to be able to play music by the bands Metallica and Slayer.
Soon I hope to be able to play like Don Felder. Know that your generous donation
assisted the youth of Creek Wood in the learning of the fine musical arls. There

may be some people better at playing the guitar than I am, but thanks to you fine
people I have a chance to become superior. I have attempted at playing the guitar
opce before and could not do

it and regretted abandoning it ever since. However,

thanks to you at the Eagles fan club I have a second chance to learn, cheers. I,

unfortunately, have not learned any proper songs for the guitar but I plan on getting
started on that right away. The songs I plan on getting started on are stair way to
heaven by led zeppehn, hotel California by the eagles, and way of the fist by five

finger death punch. Again thank you all so much for your momentous donation.

Sincerely,

Dear Eaglesfans,

Thank you so much for donating the guitars to our school. We were
very excited to hear that we would be receiving them for our music
class. When we first got them it was a little hard to learn because we had

to share a guttar with a partner. As of now we have learned to play

several songs on the gurtar and always, some were much harder than
others. I had learned to play a little bit of guitar in middle school, but

it

was a little harder because our teacher had to help us individually. I

think we move at a faster pace in this music class because of having

pbrtners. We have also learned several notes and can easily use them to
make unique rnelodies. Right now I am learning how to play the piano
and learning how to play them at the same time has made it easier to

uirderstand how to play them both at a faster rate. It was defiantly easier

going into piano having more knowledge of the guitar because they have
the same notes. It has been really fun experience. Thank you again for
the guitars, it really has been afi amazing experience.
Sincerely, Mackenzie

Dear Eaglesfans,

I would like to thank you very much for the guitars you bought for us. We at Creek Wood
have found great use for them. I have learned so much, such as notes like E, F, C and D. I have
also learned many chords. We have learned how to play songs like, Hotel California, Jambalaya,
arid some other famous songs. Getting the chance to learn the guitar is great,

if it wasn't for y'all

I would have never had the chance to get to learn the guitar. I am so thankful for them. My
dream is to be a professional guitar player. And now that y'all have given us these guitars my
dream can be full filled. I have become a better guitar player now that we have the guitars. I

will

continue to practice and learn with the guitars that you have provided for us and I can't thank

you enough I am so thankful for them. I can now learn how to play the great hits of the Eagles,
because personally

So

I am a huge fan. And maybe i could become as good

as the great

i wouldiust like to thank you again, I love the guitars.

Sincerely,

Colyu

Don Felder.

Dear Eaglesfans,

I really appreciate the donation of guitars that were given to our school.
With the generous donation, I will be able to learn and play some of my
favorite songs by the band

A11

Time Low. I am excited to play like the

guitarist I idolize, Jack Barakat" He is my biggest inspiration to leam guitar.

When my teacher said that we were going to learn how to play guitar, I was
excited. When we first began learning guitar, our class had to share guitars
and we had to take turns, which was not easy. Learning guitar was much

harder than I thought. Some of the ohords and notes have been difficult to
play, and we have tried many different ways to play. Also, we have learned
some simple chords and have been working our way up to some of the more

difficult chords. We have learned by reading notes, and also by hearing the
songs and playing along to it. It has been areally fun experience.

It has been

greatto sit down and actually learn something I have been wanting to learn

for years. The guitars we have received are amazing. Again' thank you so
much for the donation.
Sincereiy,

Dear Eaglesfans,

"

I would like to say that you guys really helped out our school, or more specifically my

General music class during 6th period. Our class was pretty blessed to have the guitars that you

provided the financial means for us to be able to get. We have used these beautifully crafted
wooden instruments to play just as beautiful music. With starting off with simple notes then

leveling up to more complex chords and sequence; we have learned to grasp the strings of the
guitar in a way so that she sings a beautiful tune that is used in recording such songs like Life
has been good, and one of my personal favorites Take

it easy. Also it has given rny friend the

time to really hone in his guitar playing skills as well. I also have been able to learn some notes
and chords that mean seem like they are simple but can be combined to play very complex songs.
One of my favorites that

I can play is The Mexican Anthem, it's not much but even the best

guitarists like Jimmie Hendrix started somewhere basic. I hope that eventually I'11 be able to play
songs like Money by Pink Floyd, or Hotel California by the Eagles but

it couldn't have started

you guys wouldn't have funded us with the money to purchase these guitars thanks guys.
