Summer Term 2015

Good Things Grow Here

Welcome back to a sunny Summer term we hope you all enjoyed a lovely family break.
Reception, Year 1 and 2 Musical Performance Wednesday 6 May 1.45pm and 6pm
This year our children will be performing the musical Tattybogle. Tattybogle is a
scarecrow with a head full of straw and cheerful thoughts. Nothing gets him down; he
loves everything even the crows! Then one day the Autumn wind is so strong that
Tattybogle is blown to pieces. All that is left of him is an old stick, but he never loses
hope. Spring turns out to be the start of a glorious new life for him as his stick takes
root and he becomes a tree!
The children are busy learning their lines, songs and dances to perform to you very
soon. Tickets can be purchased via ParentMail and will be sent out to you shortly. Dont
forget to send in your childs named costume on Thursday 30 April! Thank you.
Key Stage 2 Musical Performance Wednesday 15 July and Thursday 16 July 6.30pm
This year our Key Stage 2 children will be performing Olivia at Queens Park High
School. The Chester High School has a wonderful theatre and we will be working
alongside the creative arts staff and students to perform Olivia.
As many of you are aware we have used Upton High School as a venue for our Key
Stage 2 productions since 2010 but unfortunately they were unable to accommodate us
this year. For the last three years I have attended musicals at Queens Park High School
to watch past pupils perform and have been very impressed with the facilities. The
Headteacher has kindly offered us the theatre and also there will be an art exhibition for
parents to view during the interval! There are plenty of parking spaces available and we
will be able to offer assistance to those families without transport.
Sporting Achievements

Congratulations to Anna who came second in the British long distance

championships in the Forest of Dean last weekend. She also came third in the JK
international sprint competition at Lancaster University and fourth in the two days
of forest races.
If you wish to share your childs sporting achievements please email
[email protected]

at the end of last term. Michelle was Chair of the Curriculum Committee and had specific
responsibilities for Child Protection and Safeguarding. The governors and I would like to

time as a governor.
