Jay Gatsby:

Jay Gatsby, the main protagonist in F. Scott Fitzgeralds novel

The Great Gatsby, is a mysterious, affluent man who hides in his
immense palace and hosts large parties for other affluent people. He
originates from a poor German American family of North Dakota. His
family was dirt poor, and Jay was not being properly provided for,
which motivates and begins a spark in his dream: to become wealthy.
He accidentally comes across a sinking yacht and saves the owner,
Dan Cody. Dan Cody sails again on his yacht with Jay Gatsby, teaching
young Gatsby the ways of the rich. Gatsby is left with Dans
inheritance, but Dans mistress cheats him of it and Gatsby is once
again dirt poor. He joins the army for World War I, in which he reaches
the rank of Major and performs heroic deeds. During WWI, he meets
Daisy Fay, a beautiful girl from a wealthy family. He is forced to leave
Daisy for the war and their communication stopped after the war.
Gatsby finds out while briefly attending Oxford that Daisy is marrying
Tom Buchanan, an extreme rich White man. Gatsby decides its time to
gain great wealth and status to woo Daisy back to his side. He
befriends influential gangsters and begins bootlegging to build up his
immense fortune, eventually becoming one of the richest men in New
York. He hosts massive parties at his place in hope that Daisy will walk
in one day. He later manages to talk to Daisy through his neighbor Nick
Caraway, who is a cousin of Daisy. The couple falls in love and Gatsby
decides its time to announce to Tom of Daisys true lover. Daisy admits
that she loved both of them and later on accidentally runs over Toms
true lover, Myrtle, with Toms car. Tom tells Myrtles husband that it
was Gatsby who committed the murder, to which Myrtles husband
responds by killing Gatsby and committing suicide himself. No one
attends Gatsbys funeral except for three people: Gatsbys party guest
Owl Eyes, Nick Caraway and Gatsbys father, Henry Gatz. Despite all
his parties and all his kindness, no one, including Daisy Fay Buchanan,
comes to say his/her last good byes.

Sergey Brin:
Sergey Brin is a Russian computer programmer and co-founder of Google
with Larry Page, revolutionizing the information and technology world. He attended
the University of Maryland to study mathematics and computer science, later
continuing his study in computer science at Stanford University. He met Larry Page
at the orientation of Stanford, eventually becoming good friends that are interested in
similar ideas. Brin became interested in data mining and with Page designed a

search engine. Search engines were very inconsistent, inaccurate and inflexible,
often not able to adequately answer the queries sent to the server. However, Sergey
Brin and Larry page created algorithms and systems such as the search-rank
algorithm that made searching for information more efficient and accurate, making
Google far more superior to the competing search engines.. He and Page collected
funds and received investments to start up their company and continuously
upgraded Google, resulting in the worlds most popular search engine. Brin is
focusing not only on Google, but also on many other technological and health related
goals such as making access to health easier, creating HMD (head mounted device)
and driverless cars. He has not only changed the way information is accessed, but
fundamentally changed the technological standards.
