Aleppe!
survival blankets, sealing tape, iron, wood, rubber tube, industrial fan, arduino, stereo system_ambient dimension
2014_in collaboration with Antonio Di Biase

Aleppe! is an inaccessible place where a

ritual, uninterrupted practice lives on immutable
rules. The work opens out to an order of metareality, and is meant to absorb negative
contingencies of the contemporary era. It is a
magic as well as unconfortable space thought as
an ephemeral tent, repeatable and mechanics,
scanned by the rythm of time in a state of
expectancy. The installation is a warning whose
intent is to draw into a narrative myth illusory. All
as been forced to dispel fears and anxieties for a
cataclysmic, nefarious event, social as well as
individual. Artists look after the isothermal
material as poetic mending. The visual act of the
two artists is characterized by a choral invective
with tones recalling the dante's hell.

Pottery, salt_2013_various sizes
These are a series of fabrics and cloths
made in pottery by various techniques,
the clays are mixed with sea salt and it
creates tissues "of stone" with ripples or
cracks of the material. I used various
ceramic bodies, with some of the common
white clay casting, other made by creating
a dough with white refractory clay
thickened with sea salt. During cooking,
the salt is burned exhaling the fumes and
they colored the ground, leaving to the
pieces some signs and moods that seem
to given by the time.

Legmi
Three offeset prints mounted on aluminium_2013_20 x 30 cm each photo

Legmi was born at the point where they meet

the mouth of the river and the shore of the sea,
on the river bank Saline, the threshold between
the urban decay and the instinct of a wild tide. A
broken string to the docking of a small fishing
boat, the pine fence of a bar on the pier now
devoured by the pandemic reed, scrap red-brown
oxidized by legislating of time, relentless
emotional ties buried the activity of a river in
flood. These fragments are reflected in a small
box, stale, stuffy, made of forgotten materials,
discovered and preserved morbidly, that fills up
and back to the water in an unbreakable bond.
Ancestral rite, removed cult, as if it is to recall an
original local tradition, according to which the
ancient craftsmen, after scoring a sacred icons in
wooden materials, they placed these in vigorous
places to make them "set" and to imbue the
essence of the place.

Maree
Pottery, cotton tissue, wood, coins, crystals_2012-2013_ambient dimension

Maree pottery detail

Maree is the manifestation of an absence. It was

born from he discovery and retrieval of the fragment of
a boat plating, a relic of wood from the concrete
presence lived, analyzed and carried as a burden
during the process of deconstructing of a story. A
narrative evocation infected by personal stories and
symptoms of an actually, nostalgic and contemporary
current. The tragic reality identifies the analogy of the
migrant man. The footprint of the archaic relict is
etched in the ground with a primordial gesture, whose
memory is preserved in a fabric texture. Coins are
elements of strong historical and cultural value,
medium of barter but at the same time precious metal
with intrinsic value. The salt is an ambiguous element,
incorruptible, the emblem of life and absence that
manifests itself as crystal in a process of slow drought,
depriving of vital function with which it comes into
contact.

Pictures details from 1229

1229 project is born from a deconstructive process,

from the research of a lost piece (the wreck of a boat)
to its contextualization in contemporary times, the
discovery by chance occurrence becomes narrative
evocation of an event never happened, but in reality so
common in the daily life present. The tragic reality is
concentrated in the analogy of man and his identity as
a migrant. 1229 are the miles that has traveled the
wreck of boat from Pescara to Milan and back again in
Pescara, during the process of design and artistic
achievement. This present themselves in a seemingly
and simple austere, hides a very personal reality of
lived experience, alluding to his roots and memories
and complicity family, recounting through the sites of
the other one's mortal identity.

Fell Breath Breathing, primitive and archaic act

of bonding with the water, where the same actions
of breathing and analyzing are exaggerated and
turns into a spasmodic and rarefied breathlessness.
The act of breathing with its nodal and essential
function to preserve and float turns into a pneumatic
mechanism everted from the body, in a joint
reflective elements that juxtaposes the most
seemingly distant in a cyclic query: sea-body,
outside-inside, meat-machine , breath-noise. The
skin transpires as a container, whose interior is
manifested outwardly and, through sound, organic
meat back assuming an environmental condition
nomadic existence in pursuit of the genius loci, and
found the same in a continuous and indissoluble
attraction.
