Careplan NewBorn

A 54 hour old female newborn born via caesarean section at 38.1 weeks gestation to a married 38 year old mother was assessed. The newborn had Apgar scores of 8 and 9 at 1 and 5 minutes, respectively, and no complications. The nursing care plan addressed the risk of injury during transition to extrauterine life. Interventions included constant supervision when out of the crib and using proper lifting technique to support the head and prevent falls or drops. The goal of no physical injury during the 12 hour shift was met.
