Siliconized Acrylic Sealant is a general purpose acrylic joint sealant that can be used internally or externally around window and door frames and for sealing brick, block, and lightweight cladding. It has excellent adhesion to many construction materials and bonds well to some painted surfaces. The sealant accommodates movement of up to 10% and skins within 30-60 minutes, curing fully within 1-3 weeks depending on conditions. It is supplied in white and bronze colors in 280ml cartridges.

Uses

Precautions

As an Internally or externally applied joint sealant around


window and door frames. It is also suitable for use as a joint
sealant in brick-work, block-work and sealing lightweight
cladding panels.

General

Siliconized Acrylic Sealant has excellent adhesion to most


substrates used in construction, particularly concrete,
mortar, block-work, wood and anodized bronze. It also
bonds very well to some painted surfaces, but it is advisable
to carry out a site trial first to assess the suitability of the
particular coating in question.

Siliconized Acrylic Sealant is not recommended for joints


subject to water immersion.
In such cases Nitoseal150
should be considered. Do not apply at temperature below
5oC.
Health and safety
Avoid contact with eye sand skin. In the event of eye
contact, wash thoroughly with clean water.
Storage
At least 12 months shelf life in original unopened cartridges
when stored in dry conditions below 25oC.

Joint surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and frost-free.


Excessive dirt, dust, laitance and other contamination must
be removed by wire brushing.

A further amount should be allowed for wastage.

Application
Siliconized Acrylic Sealant can be applied by hand or air
operated caulking gun. Ensure that the sealants pushed
firmly into the joint to give complete wetting of the surface.
Any tooling of the sealant surface must be carried out
immediately using a joint shaping tool soaked in white spirit,
or wet sponge. If required, the edges of the joint can be
protected with masking tape. If this is done ensure that the
tape is removed immediately after tooling.

Cleaning
Uncured Siliconized Acrylic Sealant can be cleaned off with
water. Cured sealant can be removed mechanically or by
soaking in MEK.
