Job Purpose
Ensure that administrative requirements for the Faculty of Life Sciences assessment and
progression processes are carried out effectively and in a timely manner with due regard to
confidentiality and security. Provide quality administrative support to all academic staff in relation
to teaching related activities.
Key accountabilities
Prepare and format Life Sciences UG and PGT examination papers, A papers and re-sit
papers through to final production of a camera proof copy.
Prepare and format examination papers for Medicine (Years 1 and 2) Nursing and
Speech and Language examinations for which Life Sciences is responsible.
Ensure deadlines are met in relation to internal and external examination paper
emendation procedures for both UG and PGT examination papers and liaise with internal
exams officers to ensure that all necessary corrections are made and checked within
published deadlines.
Ensure all examination papers are sent to the University printers before the deadline.
Respond to day-to-day enquiries from staff and students in person and by telephone or
email, providing assistance where appropriate or directing them to the relevant source of
information.
Assisting with the operation of Welcome Week for both UG and PGT students
Assisting with the operation of UG and PGT graduation Service and minute teachingrelated committee meetings.
General secretarial duties, including filing, photocopying, scanning and faxing.
Provide assistance to colleagues as and when required
