WIRELESS
Wireless Broadband connects a home or business to
the internet using radio link between the customers
location and service providers facility. Wireless
Networks provide high speed internet over wide area.
Point to Point wireless equipment is used for taking
bandwidth till operators control room, where radio
Antenna are installed for converting electric power in
to radios waves. Sector Antenna are used for making
3 to 4 kms area connected over wireless and delivery
is done to consumers end using CPE in the area of
wireless.

EOC (ETHERNET- OVER- COAX)


EOC (Ethernet- Over- Coax) is a generic term for
Ethernet transport system that uses coaxial cable to
transport signals between two or more sites. EOC
research is focused on the use of existing cable
television (CATV) infrastructure for Internet access or
broadband data transmission for the purpose of being
compatible with the existing CATV (or sometimes
satellite television) broadcast signals simultaneously
transmitted on the same cable. CATV and Ethernet
signal are combined in the EOC combiner and split to
each home. And they are separated by EOC terminal
with LAN port and CATV port.

GPON (GIGABIT PASSIVE

GPON provides the exibility and cost advantages

that service providers need to deliver services


protably to their subscribers. GPON is a point to
multipoint access mechanism. Its main characteristic
is the use of passive splitters from the providers oce
to serve multiple homes and small businesses. GPON
uses optical wavelength division multiplexing (WDM)
so a single ber can be used for both downstream and
upstream data.

CMTS
In order to provide high speed data services, a cable
company will connect its headend to the Internet via
very high capacity data links to a network service
provider. On the subscriber side of the headend, the
CMTS enables the communication with subscribers'
cable modems. Dierent CMTSs are capable of
serving dierent cable modem population
sizesranging from 4,000 cable modems to 150,000
or more, depending in part on trac.
