CSWP Segment 1 Practice Test #1

The document provides instructions for a practice CSWP exam involving creating parts from scratch using dimensions, equations, and modifying geometry. It includes the initial part geometry with labeled dimensions and equations to define the parameters. Instructions are given to modify the initial part geometry by updating parameters and adding features like rounds and holes according to new provided dimensions. Tips are also provided on modeling techniques and useful shortcuts.

CSWP Exam: Segment 1 Segment 1 (90 Minutes)

Create a part from scratch
B
Use dimension
links and equations to aid in modeling
Use of equations to relate dimensions
Update of parameters and dimension sizes
Mass property analysis
Modification of geometry on initial part to create a more complex part

Tips and Hints

Select appropriate origin. Make sure to properly sketch about the origin shown in
the image. Basically, Best way is to pick up origin based on problem image.
Do exact modeling by using dimensions designated in image.
If the model seems to be missing something DO NOT over-assume the feature.
Examine the drawing carefully again.
Verification of the mass:
- Use Sensor for mass change to monitor the modeling procedure
- If time allowed, create 2D drawing of your model and compare the dimensions
with provided drawing

Useful Shortcut

[S] Shortcut-superman key. This shortcut key is genius and context sensitive.
Mouse Gestures

Mouse gestures are also context sensitive. Some people are better at using this in sketch mode than anywhere else.

[Ctrl+8] Orient normal to plane. Get away from using the view cube or the heads-up display. Both of those take multiple clicks.
[F] Fit on screen.
[Ctrl+Tab] Toggle between open files.
[Enter] Repeat previous command.
Right mouse button (context sensitive) This opens a good number of commands.
[Ctrl+ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] Orientation. These seem difficult to remember at first but it makes sense if you think about it:
[A]

Toggle between an arc and a line in skech mode, or different types in sketch mode

window hot keys [Ctrl+Z] undo, [Ctrl+C] copy, [Ctrl+V] paste, [Ctrl+N] new, [Ctrl+O] open.
