IgG consists of 2 light chains and two heavy chains joined by di-sulphide bonds. Antibodies are glycoproteins with an antigen binding site called the paratope. The hypervariable region resides in the N-terminal region of both the light and heavy chains. IgA is the principal immunoglobulin found in secretions such as milk.
