Foreign Language Culture (FLC) CLASS

Over the course of the semester we are going to explore at least four
cultures and languages. This will give you a better chance to make a choice of
foreign language when you go to AHS.
This is what we will be exploring:
German, French, Spanish, Latin, and (time permitting) a teacher choice of
different culture. MINE will be ICELANDIC AND THE VIKINGS!
Basic structure for each each of the four cultures
(apr. 4 ish weeks for each section of this class)
A. Roots of the culture-- Teacher intro to the culture, and geography
Map/location, Culture, Food, Music, Art, Education, Entertainment
B.Basic language skills: Counting, conversation, weather, Colors
Counting: recitation and math quiz, oral and written
Conversation: General Greetings ( Same for all 4 cultures)
Weather and time:
Traditional song, watch movie in subtitles
C.Student project choice and presentations
D. Final test over culture and language
NOTE: THIS CLASS IS INTERACTIVE, YOU MUST PARTICIPATE BOTH IN
ORAL AND WRITTEN ACTIVITIES TO SUCCEED
Required daily materials
MAC BOOK and Earbuds
Colored pencils, HIGHLIGHTER, Pens or pencil (blue or black ink only)
CLASS RULES

BE ON TIME; BE PREPARED FOR CLASS; BE real


First offense: verbal warning; Second offense: PARENT CALL; Third offense: referral to
office
