Damens focus on standardisation is undoubtedly one of our fundamental
corporate values. In 1969, founder Jan Damen handed the reins over to
his son Kommer Damen. The modular building concept was one of the
first initiatives Kommer Damen introduced after listening carefully to
client feedback.
Four decades ago the standardisation concept was totally new in the
shipbuilding industry and even today it is still unique.

DOP SUBMERSIBLE DREDGE
The compactly-built and wear resistant dredge pump is directly
powered by a hydraulic motor. The pump and its drive are built into
a protective casing, to which various suction heads can be attached.
The type of suction head depends on the job at hand: a sand winning
head or cutter unit for sand mining, a leveling head for bed leveling
in a building pit, an auger unit for environmental clean-ups or the
DOP can be used as a mobile booster station.

The Damen Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) has been designed as
a dedicated maintenance dredger. Its main purpose is to keep ports and
navigation channels at the right depth. The TSHD Series comprises six medium
