I - Course Description:
This Course explains the basic principles of how computers works. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the essential components associated with
computers (with a focus in PCs). Topics includes History of computers, the processor, motherboard, memory, graphics and sound adapters, input and output devices, and
storage media. Overview of operating systems and other software, as well as the various methods used to connect computers to each other and the internet, are presented. The
course also address recent advances in computer architectures and computer hardware and how they affect computer performance. Presentations of actual hardware are
included so that student can gain experience in identifying the various internal and external components of a Pcs.
II - Course Objectives:
On successful completion of the course, the student is expected to develop knowledge and understanding of:
