3.2. Home work / Class Assignment
Policy
Maximum of 25 assignments per unit and hence, maximum of
125 assignments for a module covering the whole contents of
the Course shall be given for which students shall submit 2
assignments per unit and 10 assignments in total.
3.3. Class Quiz Policy:
The class quiz/assignment used to conduct during the
class/tutorial hours by questioning the students. The students
shall answer by oral or written. It may be taken 5 % of total
marks
3.4. Continuous Assessment Test
(CAT) Policy:
There are three Continuous Assessment Tests. It constitutes
20% of the total. Each test carries 50 marks.The average of the
best two CAT scores will be taken for 10% of the total
assessment.ie CAT-I covers 2.5 units and CAT-II covers 2.5
units.
3.5. End Exam Policy:
3.6. Project Policy:
The End Exam will cover all the 5 units of the course and will
be assessed for a maximum of 100 marks.it constitutes 60% of
the total. It will be conducted at the end of the semester
.
The objective of project work is to enable the students to work
in convenient groups of not more than three members in a

group on a project involving theoretical and experimental
studies related to the Course of study. Every Project Work
shall have a Guide who is a member of the faculty of the
College or University. Time shall be allotted in the academic
Time Table for the project work and this time shall be utilized
by the student/s for getting assistance from the Guide,
reading library books, using laboratory, or field work as
assigned by the Guide and also for presenting periodical
seminars on progress made in the project.
Each student shall finally produce a comprehensive report
covering background information, literature Survey, problem
statement, Project work details and conclusions. This final
report shall be typewritten form as specified in the guidelines.
The continuous assessment and semester evaluation may be
carried out as specified in the guidelines to be issued from
time to time.

5. ASSESSMENT OF OUTCOMES
5.1 Program Outcomes :
The programme enables the student to achieve the following, at the time of Award:
1. Analyze the concepts of Fourier Series/Transforms, and laplaceTransforms.
2. Ability to analyze various active/passive components, digital logic and various communication
systems.
3. The Program aims to develop the skills of the students in the areas of boundary value problems and
transform techniques.
4. An ability to expose the concepts of various types of electrical machines and transmission and Distribution
of electrical power.
5. This program provides an in-depth knowledge in problem solving techniques and data
Structures.
6. The aim of this course is to familiarize the student with the principle of operation, capabilities and
Limitation of various electron devices so that he/she will be able to use these devices effectively.
7. Analyze the basic methods for the design of digital circuits and provide the fundamental concepts used in
the design of digital systems.
8. This course aims at providing the necessary basic concepts in random processes. A knowledge of
fundamentals and applications of phenomena will greatly help in the understanding of topics such a
estimation and detection, pattern recognition, voice and image processing networking and queuing.

10. Analyze various types of Continuous time, Discrete time signals/systems and linear time invariant CT/DT
