Journal five:
Day one: (6th of November 2016)
Achieving one of my MCTs comments. My MST were absent for a personal reason. The headmistress distributes the grade two classes to other teachers. I went to her and I asked if I can take the students for at least one lesson. She gave me the sixth period to teach. So, I was free for the first five periods. I started working on the wall project in my break time, it was a long tiring day. However, its the sixth period and I went to the class. I give them a new lesson, and I decide to improve my weak points (that my MCT wrote it to me). This time I didnt allow the students to come to me to answer, I told them, raise your hand if you a question or if you want to show me your answers. And that worked to the end of the lesson. I felt its better to ask them to follow this way, its teach the students to be disciplined, and accurate. Adding to that, I allowed the students to get the most time working and explaining. Day two: (7th of November 2016) Working on improving the students learning. Today my MST only attends for the first period and then went to her medical appointment. The other classes has been taken from the other teachers, and I couldnt take any period. However, I attend the first period with my MST, and she asked me to only observe the students while they are working on their activity book and help them if they need. I used the chance and I took out my assessment sheet, and help the students who need to improve. And I achieved to make the students understand the lessons. We sit in a circle and I use the
Manipulatives and explain the lessons again in more than one
way, in order to facilitate it to them.
Day three: (8th of November 2016)
Working on improving the students learning. I didnt have the time to teach today because, my colleague teaches my students, and they only have on math lesson. So, I took two students ( Fatima and Rwaya) from the sport lesson for five minutes , and I check if they are able to complete what was difficult to them on the previous lesson. Day four: (9th of November 2016) Working on my next goals . Last day in Mariam school. Today we have done for the school broadcast that we had prepared for it. Our MCT attended the assembly, and observed the activities we made. After the assembly, our MCT went to evaluate the math wall. The wall was colorful, spectacular, and amazing. I hope our MCT thinks the same. However, after attending the first class with the students, I teach the students today mathematic lesson. I was aware of applying my MCTs comments. Get the students to have more critical thinking activities, dont allow them to come to the board if they want to answer, and show examples of best students practice. I did that successfully and I get a better lesson.
