REC COMMUNITY COMmEnTS
Career and College Corner
In support of our district-wide Graduation Plus initiative to ensure all students are college and career ready,
first grade students participated in a
Career Dress-Up Day. Students came
to school wearing attire to represent
the job they want to have when they
grow up. They practiced using soft
skills by speaking to their class about
the education and tools needed to do
each job.
Office Notes from the Administration:
REC Community and Families,
With the school year half way completed I would like to look back at
what has happened at REC so far this year...
We had our First Annual Grow our Future Day where 8 trees were
planted around our car line.
We had 15 - 4th/5th grade students earn Duke TIP awards for their
performances on the statewide assessment last year.
We started a Running Club through our PE Department and 3rd
grade has started a Robotics Club for students.
Our Students read 1,386 books during our USC vs. Clemson Reading
Challenge.
As we strive towards our school wide goals, I would like to preview
highlights for the 2nd half of the school year.
Mid Year Assessments will be given to monitor student progress
towards our goals.
Daddy/Daughter Dance Night sponsored by our PTA in February.
Mother/Son March Madness Night sponsored by our PTA in March
Early Literacy Night for our pre-school aged students and families
in March
All of our hard work and effort will allow us to meet our academic
school-wide goals we set in September. We look forward to a wonderful 2nd half of the school year.

Wash your hands often.
Keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps you can
take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Wash
your hands with soap and clean running water, and rub them
together for at least 20 seconds. Cover your mouth and nose
with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you dont have tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your
hands.
