Im very sad to receive the

news that came through
this morning. It was
completely unexpected.
Were gathered at the
stadium, welcoming people
who are affected, people
who love Chapecoense,
The pain is hard to take.
Chapecoense was the
biggest source of
happiness in the city. Many
in the town are crying.
Ive been at Chapecoense
a long time and I know
what weve gone through
to get here, Now weve
arrived here I wont say at
our peak but known around
the country a tragedy like
this happens.

The sporting world was

turned upside down
yesterday as news broke of
the tragic plane crash in
Colombia, carrying the
Chapecoense football team,
that claimed the lives of 76
people.
The Brazilian side were on
their way to the first leg of the
Copa Sudamericana final
against Atletico Nacional
when their aircraft crashed
over Medellin.
Since the news broke
yesterday, many
heartbreaking stories have
been released including
goalkeeper Danilos final call
to his wife after being pulled
from the plane.
Its a tragedy which has
shook the world football
across the globe but brought
it together at the same time
with Brazilian clubs offering
to loan players out to
Chapecoense with no fees
and asking for the club to
exempt for relegation for the
next three seasons.
However, it seems fans from
across the world are
desperate to their bit after
Umbro were inundated with
requests for the clubs shirt
and the manufacturing
company were forced to
release the following
statement.

Speaking in Chapec (SC),

President Michel Temer said
that the national commotion
seen around the victims of
the crash that afflicted the
Chapecoense football team
reveals the unity of the
Brazilian people at this time
of sadness for the country.
Temer attended the funeral
ceremony with military
honours held upon arrival of
the bodies at the city's
airport.
The solidarity of the
Brazilian people can be seen
at such a sad time for the
country, around the drama
that surrounded Chapec,
Santa Catarina and Brazil,"
the president said.
Temer thanked the
Colombian ambassador to
Brazil, Alejandro Borda, and
reiterated his gratitude to the
Colombian people and
government for the solidarity
they have demonstrated and
for supporting and facilitating
the transfer of the bodies.
From the airport, the coffins
of the victims went in
procession to the Arena
Cond, the clubs official
stadium, for a collective
funeral attended by
thousands of fans. President
Temer also attended the
ceremony held at the
location.

"I had many friends over

there. I played for Vitoria
for five years and I worked
with the coach and the
backroom staff, and two
other players as well. We
were very close friends.
"This is really hard to
take. It is something you
never imagine will
happen to a close friend.
The minimum I can do is
send my condolences to all
their families.
"It is not easy to lose a
member of the family. I
know from experience, I
have lost a brother myself
and I know how painful it
is.
"I ask for strength for this
team that enchanted
Brazilian football, a group
that five years ago were in
the fourth division and
surprised everyone. We
only have good memories
to keep in our heads from
the team and the friends I
made through football."
"We have a message group
from Brazil and I texted
them to say "don't leave for
tomorrow what you can do
today".
"I say that because on my
last birthday I felt this urge
to talk to Cain Junior and
for some reason I left it for
another day and then this
tragedy happens.
"So if you think you want to
do something just get out
there and do it because
don't know what tomorrow
brings."
