1) What is the sum of all coefficients of the expansion (1-i)^18. Ans.

-512i
2) Given a polynomial function f(x) = x^2 + 16x - 57. Find all possible values of
x and f(x) such that x is an integer and f(x) is a perfect square. Ans. x =
-69,-19,53,3 and f(x) = 0 and 3600
3) Evaluate: 19(sigma (18Ci), i = 2 to 18) Ans. 4980375
4) Find a side of a cube if its volume is equal to the longest stick that can be fit
to it. Ans. 3^(1/4)
5) The sum of the first n terms of a sequence is n(n+1)(n+2). Find the 10th term
of the sequence. Ans. 330
6) A ball has been thrown parabolically such that the range (covered
horizontally) is 1200m. If the maximum height the ball can reached is 540m.
What is the angle of elevation when the ball was thrown. Express your answer
in 4 significant figures. Ans. 60.950
7) A point P is inside square ABCD such that AP = 8, BP = 12 and CP = 9. Find
DP. Ans. 1
8) Let ABC be a triangle such that AB = 5 and BC = 6. Let AD be a line such that
AD bisects exterior angle of <BAC. If D is a point on BC extension such that
CD = 4. Find [ABC] in exact value (no decimal). Ans. (3sqrt 39)/4

Solution:

1. (1-i)^2 = 1 - 2i + i^2 = (-2i)^9 = -512i^9 = -512i

2.
3. 19(2^18-19)
4.
5. Sn=n(n+1)(n+2)
SoUn=3n(n+1)
So U10=31011=330
6.
7. AP^2 + CP^2 = BP^2 + DP^2
