EDUCATION - Definition
Education Derived from Latin word
Educere
Educere means to lead out or to draw
out or to bring from
To bring out that which is hidden within
the potential. Whatever is within you as a
seed has to be drawn out, given full
opportunity, so that it can blossom.
CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM
Insufficient, Incomplete, Superficial because it does not
give any insight to living.
Harmful because it is based on competition, which
creates unloving people.
Competition destroys the state of being in joy
It is goal-oriented Examination is more important
than the learning.
Examinations tests the memory, not the intelligence.
NECESSARY CHANGES
Abolishing Exams
Every day, every hour, observation by the teachers will
decide whether you move further or you remain a little
longer in the same class.
The idea of failure creates a deep wound of inferiority,
and the idea of being successful also creates a different
kind of disease, that of superiority.
Nobody is inferior, and Nobody is Superior.
One is just oneself, Incomparable.
NECESSARY CHANGES
More the memory, less is the clarity and intelligence.
Anything seen graphically is more easily remembered
than what is read or heard.
Lessons can be taught joyfully on a TV.
FIVE DIMENSIONS
OF EDUCATION
FIRST DIMENSION
The first is informative, like history, geography, and
many other subjects which can be dealt with by
television and computer together.
History should consist only of those great geniuses who
have contributed something to the beauty of this
planet, to humanity.
We should teach the positive grandeur of our
inheritance.
FIRST DIMENSION
We have to make the future generations completely
aware that a dark side existed in the past and
dominated the past, but now there is no place for that
side
Every person in the world should know at least two
languages; one is his mother tongue, and the other is
English as an international vehicle for communication.
SECOND DIMENSION
The second is the inquiry of scientific subjects, which is
tremendously important because it is half of reality,
the outside reality.
THIRD DIMENSION
Art of Living - Every child should be helped to
transform his anger, hatred, jealousy, into love.
Sense of Humour.
Connect with the nature like sunrise, sunset, enjoying
the birds sing
To sum up, a reverence for life is the foundation for
third dimension.
FOURTH DIMENSION
ART AND CREATIVITY Like painting, music,
craftsmanship, pottery and masonry.
By being creative one becomes divine; creativity is the
only prayer.
FIFTH DIMENSION
ART OF DYING Becoming aware of the eternal life
inside.
Introduction to Zen, Tao, Yoga
One-third of our education should be concerned with
livelihood;
one-third of our education should be concerned with our
well-being body, health, ways to stay younger and live
longer.
And one-third the last and the most important
should be concerned with love, with death, and the
secrets of life itself. Only then will we have a wholesome
education.
