The Bolero is a dance that originated in Spain in the
late 18th century. Written in time and having a
moderately slow tempo, we can recognize a Bolero by
the triplets that are usually on the second beat of the
bar. Ravel composed his Bolero in 1928 for a ballet.
Throughout the piece, the melody can be heard in
different sections of the orchestra. The ostinato
rhythm is repeated from beginning to end.
