Diversity Lesson Plan

The lesson plan introduces kindergarten students to different cultures through a read aloud of "The Name Jar" and a discussion of names and cultures. Students will then work in groups to identify words beginning with each letter of the alphabet that express aspects of their identities, including cultural backgrounds. Finally, students will create PowerPoint presentations and share what they have learned about embracing differences in a inclusive classroom. The goal is for students to better understand and appreciate diverse cultures.
