Watson is an artificially intelligent computer system created by IBM to answer questions posed in natural language. It competed on the game show Jeopardy! in 2011 against former champions and won first place. Watson had access to 200 million pages of structured and unstructured content to find answers, but was not connected to the internet during the game. After winning Jeopardy!, IBM announced in 2013 that Watson's first commercial application would be to provide guidance for lung cancer treatment decisions at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
