Normally,atablesnapshotflusheseachregioninthetableandbuildsasnapshotmanifestwithmetadatapointingtoallthe
contentsofthesnapshot.Thesesnapshotmanifestsarelaterusedtodeterminewhichdatafilescanbesafelyremovedafter
acompactionprocess.Whentakingasnapshoteachregion'sflushcanhappeninparallelsinceeachregionisindependentof
alltheotherregions.

WhentheMOBfeatureisenabled,thereisaseparatespecialMOBregionthatstorestheMOBitems.Priortoapplyingthe
referencedpatchforHBASE16841,theMOBregionwastreatedasifitwasalsoindependentoftheotherregions.Thiswas
notthecasewhenregionswereflushedinaMOBenabledtable,newMOBdatamayhavebeenwrittenintothespecial
MOBregion.BecausenewMOBdatafilesmayhavebeenwrittenoutaftertheMOBregion'scontentswereaddedtothe
manifest,someoftheMOBdatamaynothavebeenrecordedinthesnapshotmanifest.

SnapshotsonMOBenabledtableswerenotsusceptibletodatalossuntilafteraMOBcompactionisrun.However,aftera
MOBcompactionwasrun,theMOBdatafilesthatwerenotcapturedbythesnapshotmanifestmaynolongerhavehad
referencesandwerethuseligiblefordeletionandsusceptibletodataloss.
