Memory and Imagination

Memory is imperfect and can be influenced by our emotions and perspectives. Historians have to be aware of these limitations when interviewing survivors, as survivors may emphasize some parts of their experiences over others. Memory can also fade over time, making recollections from previous generations unreliable. However, memory also works with our senses to allow us to recall information, and it fuels our imagination to develop new ideas and theories.
