Self Video Audition sides for 'Swipe Right'

Seth, 24, the male lead, is a lab tech who is an expert in theories and
calculations but never takes risks, especially with women. Nervous yet articulate
and quick-witted, his greatest desire is to be in love. He is Adam Brody in 'The
O.C.' Without the cooler edge. [Pages 2 to 4]

Jeff, 26, Seth's best friend and work colleague, no real knowledge of science,
just looking for the next grant. He is charming, witty and knows how to use it. He
is Bill Murray, in 'Ghostbusters'. [Pages 2 to 4]

Carly, 24, is Seth's date, beautiful, intelligent and knows exactly how to make
people feel at ease. She is Yvonne Strahovski in 'Chuck'. [Pages 5 to 6]

Brad, 32, is Carly's ex boyfriend; he is well dressed, handsome, confident and

will step on anyone to get what he wants. He is Rob Lowe in 'Wayne's World'.

Anna, 23, is a waitress in an Italian restaurant. She is cool, witty and takes no
prisoners. Tough, but cares for people and stands up for what is right. She is
Judy Reyes in 'Scrubs'. [Pages 9 to 10]

Please video your audition as a straight on mid shot (head and torso) looking to
the side of the camera with the lighting facing you (not behind you). If possible
have someone off camera read the other part.

When completed please DO NOT email us the file directly but upload it to a site

selected to come in for a full cast reading.

Audition scene for Seth & Jeff: Pages 2-4

INT. SETH'S APARTMENT - DAY

A man's face stares blankly at unseen item. He's SETH, 24,
thin rimmed glasses, neat shirt -- a nerd. His focus on his
mac book screen.

His room is a homage to all things science. A Stephen

Hawkins poster pined to the wall. A telescope to the side of
him.

ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN: A face book page, a photo of young

couple showing off an engagement ring. Seth shakes his head.
Puts his head in his hands.
The front door swings open. JEFF marches in. 26. Typical
slacker. Sits next to Seth.

SETH
(depressed)
It's over.
JEFF
(excited)
The apocalypse.
SETH
Rebecca and I.

JEFF
Oh, did it ever start?

SETH
No. But it should have. In a world
where I win a Nobel prize.

JEFF
Zombies are more likely.

SETH
Thanks.
JEFF
This epiphany. When did it happen?
SETH
You're not gonna believe this?
Seth points to his mac book screen. Jeff takes it in.

SETH (CONT'D)
(slight anger)

from biology. And I know... I Know
we had chemistry.
JEFF
This theory of your... Got any
evidence?

SETH
(excited)
There was the time we locked eyes
with each other at the Christmas
party... Or, Or, when I said hi to
her in the elevator, and she said
it back.
JEFF
But did you ever, you know break
your life long rule and ask her
out?

SETH
(dejected)
What? Rejection multiplied by
humiliation... That is a bad
formula.

JEFF
(fatherly)
If you want to meet a woman. Today.
Someone, interesting, clever,
beautiful. Tinders the way
forward.
SETH
But it's just based on what your
... DNA has given you.
JEFF
It's great, everyone does it. I do
it. My Dad's on it. Mum too. The
whole worlds into it.
Jeff opens a drawer, takes out an I pad opens up on tinder.

JEFF (CONT'D)
All these women, searching for the
one.
Jeff walks over to a poster of Stephen Hawkins.

JEFF (CONT'D)
(said with a mocking tone)
What do you think Mr. Master of
time and space...? Even he agrees.

SETH
Okay... Name... Age...
profession...

JEFF
Music producer.

SETH
Lying equals trouble. Trouble
results in bad things happening.

JEFF
It's expected. On mine, I'm a
professional actor
SETH
Have you ever done any?

JEFF
I took a few classes. Just do it.
And make it sound good. The key to
a good lie... the detail
Seth shakes his head. Types away.

JEFF (CONT'D)
(hes rolling now)
Now a photo.

Seth takes a snap with his I pad.

SETH
Up loaded it.
Jeff snatches the I pad out of his hand. He swipes right
over and over again.

JEFF
You are going to get so many
messages. Blondes, brunettes... red
heads... over 50s.
SETH
My calculations tell me... no
messages.

JEFF
We'll see.

INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Carly sits there. Red dress, perfect skin, beautiful green
eyes. Could be a model. Seth stares at her for a beat. Can't
take his eyes of her. Anna scurries off. Seth and Carly
share a smile.
CARLY
So you're Seth?

SETH
And you're Carly?

They shake hands.

CARLY
Take a seat.

Seth sits opposite Carly.

CARLY (CONT'D)
(confused)
You don't look like your usual
music producer?

SETH
(embarrassed)
It's the T - Shirt isn't it. Too
Geeky.
CARLY
I was expecting, designer labels,
gold chains, that kind of thing.
SETH
(nervous)
Yeah. There at the dry cleaners,
golds being cleaned... I can't
lie... This T-shirt It's my
favourite.

CARLY
It's great.

SETH
You're a fan?
CARLY
(surprised at her own
honest)
Never watched an episode... My ex
he was kind of guys guy... liked
his car, his women, his partying...

someone who likes Sci-fi, rather
than... Top Gear.

Carly smiles; Seth too.

SETH
I have... All the episodes, in my
collection. If you ever want to

She laughs. He does too.

CARLY

INT. RESTAURANT - LATER

Seth and Carly's table full of shot glasses. Seth, wobbles
from side to side -- he's drunk. Carly and Brad are chatting
away to each other. Seth taps Carly on the shoulder.

SETH
Hey I'm a little... But I was
thinkin'... Dessert. Ya know back
at yours.
CARLY
Really?
(beat)
Thought you were havin' fun?

SETH
Yeah, yeah, just I hoped to be...
Alone with you.
RING! RING! Brad's phone goes off. He answers it.
BRAD
Hey. Chris. What's going down? A
party. Soho. We'll be there.
Puts the phone down.

CARLY
Is that who I think it is. Oh my
God. I haven't seen him in an age.
BRAD
Then you've got to go. Seth, this
guy is the master of parties...
Legendary.

Carly looks to Seth -- needs permission.

SETH
I thought... A quiet walk by the
canals would be nicer
BRAD
Of course. I've interrupted your
date enough.
CARLY
Seth... You have to meet this man.
He throws the best get togethers...
One time, Prince turned up.
(beat)
Didn't you say worked with him?

BRAD
Music man, huh. Manage a few bands
my self. What's your trade?
SETH
Producer.
BRAD
So which of Princes albums did you
work on?
SETH
His last one.
BRAD
Oh really, I thought he produce all
his own stuff now
SETH
Label screwed me over. That's why
don't work with big guys anymore.
BRAD
So who you workin' with right now
then?
SETH
Have you ever heard of the Ghanaian
Artist Fuse OSG?

BRAD
Got a pal working with him right
now.

SETH
I'm struggling away with his
brother. Gonna be a big star.
BRAD
Got any of your tracks of his on
you Seth? Love to hear them.
SETH
Hey, I though there was a party
going... I wanna party... Waitress.

INT. RESTAURANT OUTSIDE TOILET - NIGHT

Seth marches up and down. Shaking his head. Anna approaches.

ANNA
Did you really just do that?

Seth stops in his tracks.

SETH
Pardon.

ANNA
Male model of the year turns up.
And you choked.
SETH
I think you're confused. I'm going
to the bathroom.
ANNA
No, No, No, I witnessed the whole
event. The entire restaurant did.
Wow.

SETH
Your customer service skills are
like... zero.

ANNA
Do you know why you just freaked
out? You're kind of a scaredy-cat.
SETH
You really don't want me to give
you a tip do you?
ANNA
What is it you think us women like?
SETH
Well, my research has drawn me to
believe... Tall, dark and handsome.
ANNA
Risk takers. The guy who throws
caution to wind, go double down in
a poker game, wears what they want,
takes what he wants.
CARLY (O.S.)
Seth, are you okay?

ANNA
Who are you? Captain Kirk, or
ensign nobody?
Seth smiles. Stands tall. Takes a breath. Turns to Carly
whose across the restaurant.
SETH
(under his breath)
I'm captain Kirk.
(beat)
I'm coming. Everything's great.
Seth heads back to his table.
